We Are Our Avatars IX: Act V: The Sabotage of the Scandolous Saurian Scoundrels (Open)

[Slenn]

"Hmmm... well, I suppose by this point in time we should just wait on him and her to see what they've found. Let's keep our exercise up while we wait."

<color=green>"We'll walk around for a bit." Winona smiled. The sisters did so, starting in a circle around the ships to admire the scenery.

 

[Chungus]

Previously:​

"Then I have no further questions." Caius concluded after blowing a mute sigh.

Yeul looked from Caius, to Victoria. "Now, if you would excuse us, I would like to check how the situation with Sophia is progressing."

Presently:​

Eventually, Caius and Yeul neared the ship's landing site. "I wonder if there have been any developments since we were away." Yeul commented as she approached with Caius.

"It is unlikely. Things seem calm, by the look of it." Caius responded, looking at those outside.

The jet bike would continue leading Victoria away from "Silence's" position, for five minutes, largely heading north-west. It maintained its level of speed, possibly leading Victoria to believe it was the bike's top speed. After this time, the jet bike would gain altitude, and continue to do so ultil it climbed too high for the engine noise to be audible any longer.

After their bike had drawn Victoria away, "Silence" moved down the street and into an alleyway, disabling their invissibility there. They would move about town for two minutes, then begin to head back to the ships.

Samus watched them go, musing she had to train a bit too when she got a chance. She saw Caius and Yeul arrive, and gave them a small wave.

 

[Zepherus14]

The Mason Sisters would mostly see grassy area, populated by sporadic trees, flowers and shrubs. There was also one rather large rock that if you looked at it the right way it would kinda look like a turkey if you squinted at it. They might also come across the one area that Samus did her meditation practices, or Sophia's wood shavings from carving, as well as some of the other spots other group members did their outdoor activities.

 

[Slenn]

<color=green>"We should make that rock our gathering spot for reading time." She snickered.

"Oh hey look! They're back." EMily pointed with a smile. And the three diverted their path to meet up with the seeress and her guardian. They all waved from afar.

"Oh. Right. Yeah, sure, go ahead."

Victoria replied to Yeul, waving the both of them off.

Vicky followed the bike for as long as she could until the sound become too distant to hear. Since this time she noticed the sound fading out as it got too far away, she didn't waste time looking for it again, but she did kick at the pavement in frustration. Realizing that she'd also completely lost track of where the blue beam originated from, she groaned and headed back to the space-craft parking zone.

Previously:​

Yeul gave Victoria a nod, and stood up, dusting herself off. She left the cockpit after Caius opened the door for her, he exiting after Yeul.

Presently:​

Seeing Samus wave towards her and Caius, Yeul gave a small wave in response. "Hello."

"I would speak to you." Caius called out, approaching Samus. "I have learned of things, and would hear your input on the matter." Seeing the Masons approach from the corner of his eye, Caius moved his head to look at them directly, and gave them a single nod, then looked back to Samus.

"Silence" was halfway to reaching the ships, the field they were docked in coming in their sight. They continued their approach at a leisurely pace.

 

[Slenn]

The three sisters joined up with Samus.

Samus looked a bit concerned with what Caius could have found, but she nodded. "Right. Let's go somewhere private." She gave a small nod to the Masons as a greeting.

 

[Slenn]

"Do you mind if we joined in the conversation as well?"

 

[Chungus]

Caius gave a nod to Samus, then turned his head towards the Mason sisters again as the neared. "For now, yes." Caius responded in his usual curtness, then started walking away, heading west-wards.

"Excuse us. I imagine this will not take long." Yeul said to the sisters after Caius walked off, looking towards them as she spoke.

Continuing on towards the docking zone, "Silence" began nearing the ships. On their approach, they looked to Caius walking away, wondering what the rolled up piece of paper he held was.

Samus followed Caius, glancing back at the sisters before turning to the bodyguard.

 

[Slenn]

What is it with people today and private conversations?
"If it's anything about Sophia, I'd like to hear." She nodded.

 

[Chungus]

Caius didn't respond to EMily, continuing walking.

Stopping at a tree a few meters away, Caius turned around so he could keep an eye on Yeul, who he noticed didn't follow after him. "I have asked at the bounty store about Sophia, and I have found she may be a mass murderer. And I emphasize 'mass'." Caius stated, holding out the still rilled up bounty poster to Samus. "The details are on this. Turn around, so it cannot be read by others."
[hr]
"Has there been any new developments on that front?" Yeul asked EMily, not mentioning the subject of Caius' conversation, even as doing so didn't sit really well with her.

"Silence" moved to Caius seperating themselves from the rest with Samus, and entered Dave's ship, heading towards where they left their notepad.

 

[Slenn]

"Well, our attackers may have some abilities we didn't think were possible. I asked Shara as to what she's been up to, and she had us contact a squadron that infiltrated a broadcast station. It was the same station that we traced last night's transmission with the knights. The squadron reported that the knights escaped through a hole they melted at nearly the top floor."

<color=purple>"I can only say they would do that if they had some sort of flight capabilities."

<color=green>"As well as one huge heat gun or something."

 

[Chungus]

Yeul was suprised to hear Shara had information on the knights, now wondering what her ties were to Sophia, even more. "We saw no such weapons on any of them. If it was huge, as you say, we would have." Yeul said to Winona, setting the thoughts on Shara aside. "While I know of no magic that lets one achieve flight, fire magic is common. And while it is true these people are not from the same world as I, fire is universal, and could be used to melt through a substance."

After retrieving their notepad, "Silence" exited the ship again, and approached the Masons and Yeul. Stopping a few paces away from them, "Silence" began writing.

Samus turned the poster so it couldn't be seen by the Masons, then read it. And then reread it. And then again just to make sure. "This... This... Changes things, if it is trustworthy..." It was probably the closest Caius had ever seen her to outright shock.

 

[Slenn]

"Absolutely. If their fire spells are hot enough to cut through metal and concrete, we'll have to watch out for any burned spots or markings."

<color=purple>"If it's that hot, EMily, make sure that you keep up your sense of blackbody radiation. We don't want to be attacked from behind."

"Mmmm." She nodded back.

 

[Chungus]

"Those were my thoughts, yes." Caius responded, casting a brief glance to Samus, noting the change in her tone, but didn't think much on it. "I have arranged for the propriator to arrange a meeting with those who ordered this warrant, so that we may speak to them and learn their side of the story." He added, then paused.

"I came to you with this, as I have seen how you carry yourself, composedly. As such, I would trust that you let reason decide your action over sentiments. I am less willing to extend that trust to others amongst us. They would need to be informed eventually, but I feel now is not that time."
[hr]
"You speak as if the arival of the knights is imminent? Yet it seemed to me they have not a clue as to where Sophia is." Yeul commented. She cast a glance at "Silence" as they approached, but then looked back to the sisters.

Finishing their writing, "Silence" tapped Gwen on the shoulder, and turned the notepad towards her, with them holding a finger next to their latest writings - which in messily writen handwriting read; "What's going on?"

Samus, recovering a bit, looked at Caius. "Thank you. I admit I am unsure of what to do with this, but I think we should keep this secret for the immediate future. Tell the others about the meeting later, perhaps confront Sophia in private."
