We Are Our Avatars IX: Act V: The Sabotage of the Scandolous Saurian Scoundrels (Open)

"Ah, technology. Giving us the amazing ability to melt chocolate with nothing but pure rays of SCIENCE." Yorick said rather cheekily as he stepped away from EMily.

"N-nothing..." Seras said as she blushed (somehow even though her blood doesn't flow anymore...) and looked away from the two. She now started to wonder if the two were developing a thing between them, or if it had already happened and she had missed it somehow.

 

[Slenn]

She didn't entirely like the entrance from this boisterous large man, as it came out of nowhere and he demanded chocolate on the basis that we they not strangers. And they were totally were strangers. EMily calmly said,
"You might want to put that gun down. The Japanese don't like guns here."

After a while spent fruitlessly searching the river, Samus jumped out, using the Space Jump boots to give herself a boost. She landed at the riverside, water running off her armour. Orienting herself, she backtracked, eventually finding her way back to EMily and the others.

 

[Slenn]

"Hello Samus. You look like you didn't find anything, correct?"

 

[Gearhead mk2]

"Correct. I searched part of the river. No sign of anything." She looked at the Heavy, wondering who the large Russian man was.

 

[Slenn]

OOC: Sorry, got caught up in an end of the day meeting after I was debugging. I'm at the end of my work day.

"What's the magic word?" She said to Heavy.

"Hmmm... Well, I'm interested in going over to the hospital so that I can get a good look at the angler ability. I don't know if anyone else is interested. I also need to pick up a coat for Seras." She said to Samus.

"I'll go with you. We need to know what we're fighting."

 

[Chungus]

Moving through the tunnels, knowing where to go to get to dispite the tunnels splitting in multiple places, the bug moved to other the exits of the nest, and sealed those up with the material used in its cocoon. After having sealed those, it headed to where the squirrel pups where housed.

Laying still for a moment, the bug listened for movement, still not able to see very well, and sniffed the different scents present. While it did so, it felt something press against its side. It was one of the adult squirrels, drawn to the bug by the definitive squirrel sound it emitted. The bug alowed this for a moment, remaining still, untill the squirrel was sniffing around at the bug's front side, where upon the bug lunged at it, biting down on the squirrel neck and applying pressure thereon. The squirrel struggled while shrieking for a time, until it sufficated, where upon the bug released it. Rather then eating it imediately, it left it to chase after the other squirrels, who were spooked and run off upon hearing the shrieks of the one the bug attacked.

With the exists sealed, the bug was quick to trap the first set of squirls, finding them clawing at the purple material while some of the pups cowered in a corner where they were put down after being carried away by the adults. Opening and twitching with its mandibles, the bug sprayed the adults with the lemon-yellow liquid, using more then it did when fending off the snake. This put the in too much pain to really struggle, alowing the bug to kill them with relative ease. After doing so, it moved on to the cubs, not bothering to spray them with the liquid, knowing they were defenceless to begin with.

After killing the squirrels at one exit, the bug left those too and repeated the process at another tunnel, only stopping once it found what squirrels remained had clawed their way through the blockade at the third exit. Clacking its mandibles, the bug went to eat its kills, eating the squirrel in the chamber the cubs were initially housed in last. After, it cocooned itself again.

As EMily was speaking, she would see paramedics taking dead merfolk to the ambulances. As they passed, one said, "You can ride with us if you want to examine the bodies."

 

[Slenn]

"Aha. Thank you, you're very kind." She said to the paramedic.

"Seras, I'll find you a coat during my short excursion. If you want, you could pile in and we'll find a coat after we visit the hospital."

Samus nodded to the paramedic, heading over to the ambulance the merwoman was being taken in,

EMily, Samus and Heavy were taken to the hospital with the merfolk corpses.

 

[Slenn]

Before EMily got in the car, she thanked Yorick and told Seras she promised to pick up a coat for her.
She gave Heavy a piece of chocolate while in the medical van.
"There we go...uh... I'm afraid I never caught your name."

 

[Slenn]

She rolled her eyes and chuckled a little.
"Nice to meet you Heavy. My name is EMily. You might want to hide that gun away for now as the authorities here are finicky about firearms. This fish person is a corpse we got while battling them. They came in the bay the other day and sunk a ship. This is the first time we've found them on land. According to some people we met at the police station, these fish men are planning on taking over the land population. We're going to examine the corpse to see if there are any weaknesses. It may prove useful if they come in in great numbers."

Samus looked at the Heavy, quiet, face inscrutable behind the visor.
