"What's that?" Seras asked Victoria as she started to say something, then just groaned.

"Nothing, it's fine."

Vicky answered Samus and Seras, sounding a bit irritated while she hustled to catch up with everyone.

"Are you sure? You probably shouldn't strain yourself, in case whoever was holding you comes after us soon." Seras said.

 

[Gearhead mk2]

Samus was not convinced. "If you need help, we can help."

 

[Slenn]

"So what are we to do when we get back to the ships? Are we to contact this XCOM?"

 

[Drakmorg]

"If I can't even walk on my own, then I'm screwed anyway."

Vicky replied to Seras.

"If you really want to I'm not gonna stop you."

She said to Samus.

Meanwhile, Back at the Spaceships

Joel had decided to return to the ships, rather than climb a bunch of mountains, because he isn't insane. He spent most of the time keeping a lookout for anyone approaching.

"If these XCOM people are really trying to contact the knights, then it would make sense to see if they've made contact." Sophia suggested, looking quite relieved that Victoria and Shara were alright, although peeved that the spys had nearly trapped them. "If they have contacted them, maybe we won't have to be as cautious about them perhaps. The knights I mean?" Sounding a bit hopeful that they didn't have to worry about another encounter with the Order of Sanctity, but still skeptical such a thing could happen.

Taking this as conformation, Samus picked up Vicky in a bridal carry effortlessly, returning to the rest of the group in time to hear Sophia's idea. "I doubt it."

 

[Zepherus14]

"It's just a thought..." Sophia added when Samus replied back to her, feeling a bit shot down, even if she understood that was the most likely answer.

 

[Gearhead mk2]

"It's good to come up with ideas and strategies, but we've seen how zealous these knights are, and I still don't entirely trust this XCOM group." Samus told Sophia.

Seras walked with the others back to the ships.

Faro decided to stay with the ships like Joel.

 

[Drakmorg]

Victoria was taken by surprise as Samus picked her up, not actually expecting her to do it.

"Well okay then."

She attempted to put an arm over Samus' shoulders to support herself, but couldn't manage it with Samus' gigantic pauldrons in the way.

There were fins and grooves on Samus' shoulder orbs that Vicky could grab onto if she needed support. "You're still not in top shape." Samus said to her. "A trek like this could drain you."

"Yup." Faro said as he scanned the horizon. "Why didn't they take the ships?" he asked.

 

[Zepherus14]

"So... if I really do go to this court thing... How is it going to go? Am I going to have to defend myself up there?" She asked meekly, having only a vague understanding of how the justice system worked in its entirety back in her school's universe.

 

[Drakmorg]

"You're pretty strong."

Vicky held onto the orb-fin to keep herself supported. She looked out over the distance they would have to cross to make it back to where the space-ships were parked.

"Yeah, that looks far. ...Why'd you guys walk here?"

 

[Kirke]

You tell Sophia that as far as you know, you get defended by a heartless being only interested in money. With a little satisfaction from your own joke, say that they are usually called lawyers.

"Because it'd be a waste of fuel to only move the ships two miles. And we need exercise."
