Over the course of fourty minutes, the bug ate just short of six kilos worth of plant matter, insects and small rodents, going through the process of cocooning itself thrice, while practicing flying and walking with its newly positioned legs in between cocooning. Over the time, it had grown quite a bit, growing 6cm in height and 11cm in length. Although not sodrastically, its wings and pincers had also increased in size, the former more so then the latter. Its exoskeleton had also adopted a more brownish colour scheme.
It had made little progress in learning to fly, although adapted well to the repositioning of the legs and change in balance brought about by the tail, being all to run with only making sharp turns being a problem.
While eating a trail through the grasslands, the bug caught a new scent. Adopting the scent of the surrounding plantlife, the bug began approaching it, moving in a prowl. Drawing closer by following the scent and occasional noise the source thereof produced when it moved, the bug would soon lay eyes on its mark. A small antilope, a Suni standing 33cm tall.
Stalking up to up, the big lunged at it and tried to sink the claws of its frontlegs into the suni's side Although the the claws made contact, the suni managed to slip away without the wounds impairing its running ability. Running after it, the bug managed to keep up and positioned itself behind it. From there, it opened its mandibles and squirted the yellow liquid at the suni's hind legs. Due to the fact that the bug was moving when it did so, not a whole lot of the squirt made contact, but what did was enough to slow the suni down as it swayed about for a moment. In this moment, the bug moved up to the side of the suni, and stuck it with its tail stinger, injecting a neuro toxin into the suni's bloodstream. With this done, the bug stopped running, only following after the suni with a quick strut, now just waiting for its poison to kick in.
