OoC: I'm just going to pretend that nothing @Developous: has posted ever happened.

"Why is he upset? Did I do something wrong?" Nalyssa asked the Mason sisters. "I just wanted to help, but I suppose it is my fault since I have no knowledge of 'Science'..."

 

[Slenn]

<color=brown>"EMily? Do you want to have the honors of explaining this?"

And EMily put on her smiling teacher face.
"Sure thing. Science is a way of interrogating and learning about the universe through repeatable experimentation. We like it because it eliminates our ignorance of the machinery of nature. The scientific process starts as simply observing something you don't know much about or you want to know more about it. You think of a hypothesis, or an idea, that might fit your expectations. And from that you devise a test to see if your hypothesis is true. You get your results and compare them to your hypothesis. And from this you learn more. Because more often than not, your results will lead to more testing. And quite often your hypothesis will not match the results. But it should not lead you to be ashamed of anything. Science is a self-correcting process. After many repeated experiments you'll find yourself with a set of data that everyone can reproduce under the same circumstances. From this data we create a theory, or a working and testable model. And from that model arises more questions and more testing. Science is one of the best ways you can learn about the world."

Kenna listened to Emily's explanation. Must resist saying nerd, must resist saying nerd, must resist saying nerd...

Nalyssa listened patiently while EMily explained the Science! "I see. That sounds similar to what Lord Aldia was doing in Drangleic, or research into sorcery. But I am still more concerned about this 'Darkan' fellow, he seemed awfully upset..."

 

[Slenn]

EMily was glad to see that Nalyssa was understanding her explanation.
"Darkan suffers from what mental scientists call schizophrenia. A lot of people with that mental condition suffer from audio hallucinations as well as confusion."

<color=brown>"He seemed doubtful at first. When I first met him, he seemed like a lunatic. But then he showed some tools that were not of this Earth. And then it seemed like there was some legitimate truth to the extraordinary claims he was giving me."

<color=purple>"And now it seems like he's had a hard time dealing with other scientists in conjunction with his schizophrenia. He's probably heard too many voices in his head and doesn't trust anyone."

 

[Gearhead mk2]

Kenna seemed a little disturbed when Emily mentioned mental illness. "If he's schizo, how are we gonna calm him down?" Despite the crude terms, she sounded genuinely concerned for the guy.

 

[Slenn]

"Well, I'm not a psychiatrist. But we can start by leaving him be for right now. Us being with him up there is not going to any good."

<color=green>"Maybe we could offer him something to drink or eat?"

"I would like to try and help him gain our trust. I've tried meditation and biofeedback and it's done wonders whenever I'm not thinking clearly. When he's calmed down a bit, we could try a bit of each. Or we could try doing a favor for him."

"Oh... So there is nothing I can do to help?"

 

[Slenn]

<color=brown>"Well, he won't let us four go into that room. He hasn't met you yet. Perhaps you could give him some tea or some food. We could probably find the kitchen or the food stores and offer him something to help him relax."

 

[Demonjazz]

A red haired woman had fumbled about, and got dressed and out of bed. She eventually opened the door of her room, and looked outside to the group. She was rather attractive, and fair skinned with noticeable freckles. Her hair was a deep red, and it hinted to an Irish lineage, She wore a thin black leather jacket over a plain v-neck white t-shirt that was a bit risque, but still presentable in a work-place. The jacket matched her pants although those were a very thick worker's type leather, and yet somehow she found a way to make that form-fitting, and show off her curves. She stretched her arms back, and yawned. "So, What are you guys doing here?"

 

[Slenn]

<color=purple>"We're trying to find a way to help Darkan relax." Gwen finished her tea. <color=purple>"Who might you be? Do you work on this ship as well?" She passed the thermos back to Sara.

 

[Gearhead mk2]

Kenna looked at the read headed newcomer. "We were recruited by your scientist friend. I'm Kenna."

 

[Demonjazz]

"Oh, you're those guys who are helping us with the lizard people. I'm Alyssa Reynolds, communications officer... Hey did any of you bring something to drink? I've had nothing, but recycled water for the last three weeks."

 

[Slenn]

Sara's face lit up.
<color=brown>"I can make more tea. Would you like some?"

 

[Gearhead mk2]

"Sorry, I got nothing." Kenna said, letting Sara handle this.

"Tea? Oh, I probably shouldn't be around any foodor drink... I am sorry." Nalyssa said before walking away to somewhere else because I don't understand this ship layout either.

 

[Slenn]

<color=brown>"Nalyssa? Where are you going? What's wrong?" Sara called out.

Kenna noticed Nalyssa wandering off. "You OK?" She asked.

Nalyssa stopped, but did not turn around to face Sara and Kenna. "You said you would be preparing tea, and I... I fear I may risk poisoning someone."
