We Are Our Avatars IX: Act V: The Sabotage of the Scandolous Saurian Scoundrels (Open)

Sophia was about to answer back that 'she didn't want to deal with bounties', but when she heard 'Order of Sanctity' and subsequently Roland specifying that it was her own bounty her mouth grew dry, her eyes widening. "T-they didn't!" She retorted back.

"They put a bounty on me!? For what?" Understandably upset, although more saddened than angry. "Don't people here not believe in magic anyways!? Why!?" Sophia answered back, expecting the worst they could say was her having her chocolate mana.

"With recent events, one would be a fool to not believe in magic. And it makes sense that they would place a bounty while hunting you. But that is not why I came here. I'd like to hear your story about the murders." Roland said while staring into Sophia's eyes, his voice remaining even the whole time he spoke.

 

[Zepherus14]

"M-Murders..." Sophia stammered, having no idea what he meant by that, it visibly on her face that she didn't know what he meant. "W-What murders..? Roland what are you saying!?" She asked Roland, hoping he was saying some sort of horrible joke.

Roland payed close attention to Sophia's reaction, looking for any hint that she was lying. Seeing none, he looked away and gave a slight nod. "They are lying. I thought as much. You have 63 counts of murder pinned on you, Sophia."

 

[Drakmorg]

"Really? 63? That might as well have just wrote down 'a bajillion'. They're both just as believable."

Vicky commented with a dismissive huff.

"They are seriously desperate in trying to make Sophia look bad."

Roland looked over to Vicky. "I agree. Which is why we need to confront them before people start believing those lies."

 

[Zepherus14]

"Si-sixty... sixty three!?" She fumbled out of her mouth. Her whole body shook as she thought about how many people that would have had to been, her head drooping down as she rested her head on one hand. The other went to her mouth. "O-oh god..." Looking a bit sick to her stomach.

"Sophia, we can't delay any longer. We need to know what these men are capable of, and the best way to combat them. Then we need to take the fight to them."

 

[Drakmorg]

"Any idea on how to actually do that, then?"

Vicky asked Roland. Seeing Sophia having a physical reaction to the accusation, Vicky looked down at her with concern, gently placing her right hand on her back.

"You alright?"

"Sophia is the only one with knowledge of this order. I was hoping she would have an idea." Roland replied to Vicky.

 

[Zepherus14]

"But I don't know that! I haven't been to my true home for three years after they chased me for a week after I got this magic! I didn't even know they existed before that!" She protested holding back a gag as she continued to keep a hand in front of her mouth. Her reaction to Roland's question almost like a child being asked to take a test on a topic they'd never heard of. "I -*urp*- don't-" Sophia tried to continue but her feeling ill made her stop talking.

Roland frowned slightly at Sophia, but whether it was due to her answer or her reaction was hard to tell. "Very well. Calm yourself, then come out when you are ready. We have much to discuss." He said, then turned his head towards Vicky. "You as well." Without waiting for a response, he turned to leave and would rejoin the others outside.

Samus looked at Roland as he exited the ship. "I hop Sophia's alright..." she told him.

 

[Chungus]

Caius and Yeul had moved away from the spot where the group had gathered, not wanting to be near the excentric Latino man, although they remained within earshot in case something important was said. Caius wasn't too pleased no one told the man to go away, but he decided not to say anything on that matter just yet, opting to bring it up later.

When Joel came back with the bounty poster and shared his findings, Caius frowned, not expecting him to have gone to the bounty store imediately. This will be troublesome.

When Roland left to enter the ship, both Caius and Yeul glanced at him, and when he returned outside, Caius did so once more, while Yeul kept her eyes on the rest of the group.

Elm lead Sam through a series of corridors, to the central elevator. Pressing the call button, the doors opened imediately after, the elevator already on the floor Elm and Sam were on. Once the doors were opened, it revealed a circular space, large enough to hold roughly twenty people. The elevator was lit by several orange-toned lights in the ceiling, and had a touchscreen next to the door for a control pad. Said touchscreen showed five levels, with it currently being on the top level.

Hovering inside, once Sam was inside as well, Elm touched the 'button' showing two characters that were unintelligible to Sam, after which the elevator doors closed. Elm continued hovering in place while the elevator moved, but after a moment, it asked; "What is your opinion on our origanisation so far?"

Sam looked at Elm, relaxing against one of the elevator walls. [color=edc393]"Impressed so far. Got some nice toys. Though I don't quite understand why we're being so sneaky sneaky."[/color]

For a while Sophia simply breathed in through her nose and out through her mouth, slowly but surely calming herself back down. Even after she finally removed her hand from in front of her mouth, her face was still rather pale, looking like if she'd been human she'd have had quite a bit of sweat on her brow. She didn't say anything for a long while either, although it was clear on her face she still almost didn't believe it was happening.

Throughout the whole thing, Victoria might have picked up on the smell of chocolate slightly more, but at no time did it get noticeable than a human barely smelling the odour.

"In foreign universes, we are 'sneaky' because we don't want to start any incidents, just profit from them. Starting incidents would just make making said profits more difficult then it needs to be. Ethics also play a role in this decision." Elm explained. "The In our domestic universe - that is, this one - it is because we fight a war that can't be won fighting head on." It added, then turned slightly so its camera was facing Sam.

"Do you disapprove of our methods?"

 

[Drakmorg]

Vicky sat down next to Sophia on the bed.

"Deeps breaths, alright?"

She advised, gently rubbing Sophia's back to help calm her down. Victoria noticed the chocolate smell growing stronger, but elected to not outwardly acknowledge it.
