OOC: I'm going to assume that Doc Sparkle's thing is done by magic which, as I have already stated, Mat is immune to.

Mat is the only one unmoved by the sudden arrival of the odd horse. "Well, I for one saved this copy of Comadrin's 'Fog and Steel.' On a related note, may I keep this book? I quite like it. Also, could you let my friends and the other ones down please? I know they're idiots, but that's no reason to threaten to kill them."

"This book?" Mat gestures to the one Joe seemed to be reaching to. Idly, he looked over what was on it. "Wow." He said, "Really, that was quite a twist. No one could have predicted it, and it makes perfect sense. That might just be the greatest secret in any book, ever."

The pressure on Grunts neck increases ever so slightly. Not enough to cause any pain, but enough to be noticeable.
