OOC: You see with my story telling, at least with my current gestating novel that never seems to written, is I follow quite a rigid set-up. As it is my first work the character is loosely based on me, abeit how I see myself as a confused, bored with his lot but good at one thing that he shouldn't be. However as an RP this is completely differant. I can't craft characters that I don't control. I can't craft settings and atmosphere that I don't control and a plot arc would have to be exttremely fluid to allow the large number of inputs we have in it. I can give you a setting, challenge and resolution but I won't be trying to change or evolve characters that aren't mine. I'd let the experiences effect the participants in a manner to how they would react and have them change. This is a problem when RP'ing as a character who is about as easy to manipulate as a Granite Guitar limits my reactions to others greatly.
In a long winded and abstract way I'm basicaly saying when I write I tell a story with experiences that challenge or engage the world view of the protagonist and force action, confrontation, realisation or rejection. This differs from Rosh's titans in that it relies on this base set up of Gods command it so let it be and then relying on tailored factors to change each character in a specfic way for the end conclusion in a rigid manner that marches decisively towards a specific end.
In truth I believe obviously you cannot have story without character and thanks to the magic of RP we have this delicious conflict of personalities between the rag tag assortment of characters. However, if the story, lore, fluff and stuff aren't given as much attention as well then all you have is one aspect of the whole picture. And as the Eldar will tell you no aspect is good at more than one thing.....except Dire Avengers but never mind them.
Damn....just damn..
