Bryce glared at her, and shook his head. "My dear, you'll need full length pants. Now, I may be willing to drop down to shorts, but I am not going mid thigh. It's unbecoming, dangerous, and most of all distracting for your fellow soldiers. If you still want it once the shorts are done, I'd suggest paying attention on how I work."

OoC: So wanted to comment 'they're comfy and easy to wear!'

At around the same time that Jensen was reawakening, Mercer landed on a building close to the group and looked in on them curiously. He was in a better mood now, having regained biomass and brought his infection to the upper city. Assuming Raziel's appearance, he dropped off of the building out of sight of the others and went around the corner, approaching the group.

OoC @Dirty: Writing "board" instead of "bored".

Yeul looked around the city, noting its citizens cleaning up after the carnage Mercer caused. Roads leading to the sit were blocked off and heavily guarded. Large blue tents had been set up to obscure the site from sight. Although the corpses had been removed by the fox, the streets were still coated in blood. Occasionally, personel in hazmat suits could be seen entering and leaving the tents, sometimes carring suitcases, presumimbly holding forencic equipment. A few pedestrians were watching the scene.
Sighing, Yeul turned to Caius. "This will only get worse."
"Then why remain? Of all the places we could go, why here?"
"Because that is what I wish."
Caius shook his head, but didn't object vocally.

OOC: So my wireless just decided to stop working...Bah...

"Dangerous? ...Distracting and unbecoming?" the girl said, seeming a bit indignant about his comments, a slight blush creeping across her face as she folded her arms over her chest.

Noticing a strangely garbed person with darkblue hair, blue skin and a cape, I simply watch over its next move. It reminds me too much of Nocturne.

The fox made a yip! responce to hearing the girl and Bryce.

"Yes, to all of those things. I won't have my fellow soldiers prancing around the battlefield in mini shorts. I don't want to have to carry you through a desert or make a wider path through a jungle, wasting time and energy, because one of my fellows decided on style over practicality. Other officers might do it differently, but I will not have you serving in this group looking only slightly better then now." Bryce crossed his own arms and stood up, pants dangling from one hand, as he stared down at the girl.

OoC: Wow. Channeling some Gilad Pellaeon there.

Mercer/Raziel grinned behind his cowl at the sight of the hazmat crews cleaning up the streets. So it seemed the local government were more inclined to take action when the terror struck close to home. It was as he expected. He might actually be able to find some entertainment out of the local military after all. For now, he meant to stick with the group. His main priority after all, was to return to Earth, and he could do that easier if they led him to the person with the knowledge to do that. As someone jabbed a cane at him it brought him back to his surroundings and he glared at her.
"Who are you to ask so rudely?" He replied.

The girl seemed to growl, but no noise was made. "...Fellow soldier?" she asked after a pause, as if not understanding quite what he meant.

 

[Chungus]

"Shall we go explore the city? We didn't come here to sit around all day, afterall." Yeul asked Caius as she began walking away from the hotel.
"Of course." Caius followed suit.

OoC I'm off for a while.
@FPS: Having traveled with Bullet and Black, both of wich practically ran around in their underware, why would Bryce suddenly have a problem with shorts?

The Disciple takes a step over the gap separating the airship and character before almost immediately appearing a few feet in front of Hellen and Jensen. Various shadows seem to snake across her person and the air surrounding as she faces them. Her eyes are still closed as she stands before them unmoving and eventually a voice begins echoing all around them. "Why... Why do you reject the gift I bring?" it asks in a sorrowful and light voice.

Hellen is aboard the Carrier next to Jensen addressing the Disciple.

Jensen was just about able to pick up what the Disciple said as his hearing started to improve, but his sight was still badly reduced. He could only see a silhouette against the sun.
"What... who are you?" He asked with some difficulty, trying again to get up and once again finding that he couldn't move.

Sitting down, I start dozing off.

The fox sat next to me.

"Yes. Whether or not you truly wanted to, you landed in a place that is a warzone. We've been fighting and on occasion dying, and if you want to stick with us and be helpful, you'll probably need to kill people." Bryce sighs. "Listen, I'm sorry you're getting dragged into this, really, I am. But you've got a choice between fighting with us or hiding until this all blows over. You may not need to fight, but it would be nice to have you along, serving with us."

OOC @Nail Bryce picked up pretty much right away that getting Black and Bullet to wear actual clothing would be a waste of time. They were both superb fighters that didn't need his help to be good fighters, or soldiers, so he suppressed the need to interfere in their styles. Meanwhile, Outis's girl seems young, inexperienced, and new to the very idea of fighting. He got a bad habit of adopting kids during fights so that they wouldn't be stuck in war torn countries with no one to look after them, and that's what he's done now. While he may not admit to it, he's already put her in the slot of 'kid I need to keep an eye on' in his head.

"Warzone? Fighting and dying?" the girl said, clearly shaken up by this news. She now looked around the area with greater anxiety and fear.

"Like I said, I'm sorry you have to learn about it like this. But there's no need to worry. You've got me, and Riven, and plenty of other tough soldiers watching your back. I can't promise you'll always be safe, but I can promise you that you'll be safer sticking with us then just walking the streets, waiting for Mercer to show up and kill you, like he's done to others." Wow, you recruit soldiers young Bry. What's next, see if a toddler will tote a rifle for you? better she knows all the facts before she decides

I continue to doze off, until I felt hunger start to settle in. Sighing, I get my with the fox by my side and start rooming around the place for something to eat.

"The gift of peace. Are you sad? Do you not feel remorse from that which has happened to you? Do your memories not haunt you? Have you not experienced a great loss? Life forces all these hardships upon us but I have been presented with a gift to give others and that is the freedom of peace. But you reject it?... Why?" she asks as she slightly tilts her head to the side.

Alex woke up and looked around the camp, he saw someone he didn hadnt met yet and walked over to her (Outis's char) "hello, whats going on?" he inquired

Also, I'm back.

During their sight-seeing, Yeul became hungry. Although they tried asking for directions for a restaurant, they were simply ignored by the self-centred populace. Annoyed, Caius was tempted to grab their attention by more drastic means, but on Yeul's request, he refrained from doing so. Left with little alternatives, the duo returned to where they had last seen the group.

The girl just wimped as Bryce spoke, not at all sure if what to do. She simply repeated Alex's 'hello'
