The Knight was unaffected by Envy's attack, not truly being real, it pulled him back and towards the mainland of the island. Working to throw the creature down towards the mainland.

"If you have quarters, go to them. But don't expect an audience, anytime soon." The guard said to the ladies, notably not answering Jessica's question.

 

[DotSlash]

Ness yawned as she finally fell asleep in the hotel.

OoC: Night.

 

[Furioso]

Ugh, don't try to get the guard any angrier than he already is... thought Rita as she started heading back a bit, grabbing Jessica's hand and trying to pull her away from the guard. "Come on, we can try and get an audience with the King tomorrow." she said.

[hr]

The Knight would have some trouble pulling Envy back due to his mass and strength. As he pulled Envy pulled his legs up and shoved them into the chest of the Knight in order to propel him away from the Knight and the mainland.

 

[Drakmorg]

Noting Rita trying to get her to pull away, Jessica said, "Oh alright. It's probably just too late to try and get an audience with the King tonight anyway." Though Rita wasn't much able to pull her away, Jessica followed after her as she went.

 

[Saltyk]

The knight, which would not be weak by any means, cut Envy off, and aimed his sword at his head.

They would still be far off from the mainland, still in sight of Shaintaio, actually. In addition, an airship could now be seen approaching.

"No promises." The guard replied.

 

[Furioso]

Rita headed to the sleeping quarters and went to bed.

The knights sword would have connected, but Envy had disengaged himself by transforming into a smaller bird and flying off, once again taking a page out of Grace's book when she turned into a squirrel to avoid the golems in the fight with Icarus.

 

[Furioso]

Suddenly, the air began to crackle around Envy, and in an instant he was gone. Moments later he fell onto a cold, hard floor in a dark room surrounded by wires and pipeline leading to a device near a great throne where a man in flowing white robes sat. "Envy, my son, you've been gone a long time..."

OoC: Envy is out, I'm not discussing it. Off to bed.

Having little else to do, Jessica went to her sleeping quarters and went to bed as well.

 

[Furioso]

Rita was hanging around the palace courtyard.

 

[Drakmorg]

Jessica had left the palace and wandered around Shantaio aimlessly for the day, trying to gauge the general mood of the place. After a while, she returned to the palace. Finding Rita in the courtyard as she made her way in, Jessica walked over to her to regroup. She waved to catch the girl's attention as she walked up to her.

 

[Furioso]

Rita looked up at Jessica. "Oh there you are, should we try to get an audience now?"

 

[Drakmorg]

Jessica gave Rita a nod as she stopped a few feet away from her. "Might as well. Not like it could really hurt to try." She started looking around for a guard or someone else she speak to about getting an audience with the royalty.

 

[Furioso]

Rita also looked for a guard, hopefully not the same one as last night.

 

[Chungus]

Unlike the times before, there now actually stood two guards at the entrance of the palace.

 

[Drakmorg]

Seeing the guards, Jessica walked over and addressed them. "Excuse me, but we were sent on a mission by the King, and we'd like to see him so we can make a report to him about it. We just got back last night, you see. Is there any way that could be arranged at the moment? Or maybe sometime in the near future?"

 

[Furioso]

Rita approached the guards alongside Jessica. "Sooner would be better rather than later, since it is about the war."

 

[Chungus]

"Is that so?" The guard remarked, then turned and around. "Well then, follow me." With that, he entered the palace, motioning for Rita and Jessica to follow. The other guard stayed behind.

 

[Furioso]

Rita followed the guard.

 

[Drakmorg]

Jessica nodded to the guard and followed after him as he went.

 

[Chungus]

The guard lead Rita and Jessica, not to the audiance chamber, but rather a room in the center of which stood a long, rectangle table, made of polished ebony. There were twenty chairs surrounding the table, and at the head, sat Estella. Having been granted no time to rest after what happened at the abbey, she looked rather worn out.

"Ma'am, these two say they're here to report on an errend his majesty send them on." the guard stated.

Estella nodded. "You may leave now." The soldier saluted, and left the room.

"Take a seat." Estella said after the soldier left, looking at Jessica and Rita.
