In the aftermath of the battle there had been many casualties and the Xiphatian medics were stretched to capacity so Cynane had volunteered to assist them in healing the many soldiers who had been wounded. Again and again she witnessed the horrors inflicted the troops on both sides had inflicted on each other, and while her herbal medicines did succeed in stabilising a few people long enough for the Xiphatian medics to provide aftercare, several more died while she tried to help them. Now she went to the hotel intending to rent a room, staring dully ahead, too tired and mournful to bother setting up her tent outside.
