"Hmm. This certainly looks familiar. Because it's already been done once, I suppose." Persephone said to Echo as she appeared near her. Echo turned to her and stood shaking for a moment, silently seething. "I thought you had been learning something. You proved me wrong." Persephone said in a stern tone as she looked at her niece. Echo screamed at her aunt and started cursing her in any way she knew how. Of course, there was not real point to this, since the only words she was allowed to say were, "You...wrong." She spat these words as she lunged at Persephone like an animal. Echo passed through her aunt like she wasn't even there, her form shifting slightly like a plume of smoke. "I'm still watching you, dear. Always watching. I hope you will make progress." Persephone said rather coldly, but with a very real hint of sadness in her voice. She left, and Echo was left on the floor, screaming the words that had been said to her and she thrashed on the ground and cried.

As Rita walked, she came out at a square that seemed considderably more lively then the fairly calm early-night streets. There seemed to be a hover-truck parked, and several people moving in and out it, unloading crates that seemed to be made from some manner of plastic.

Looking over at Rowena, Ness seems to give her a sideways glance with little to no sympathy in her voice. "For what that man did to those innocent people, he deserved whatever came to him."

Jessica recoiled a bit in disgust and scooted her chair away from Rowena as she started vomiting. "One moment." She said to Rowena. She glanced over at the table, then tossed 20 credits into the pot, declaring, "I raise." as she did.
She then signaled for some staff to come over, then turned to Rowena. "You alright? And what's going on? I only caught about half of what you said."

"The... the problem isn't what they'll do to him." Rowena said, coughing. "It's what he'll do next. When he came to this world, he'd just escaped my facility. And he killed two dozen men in the process. Would've probably killed civilians too, if he hadn't wound up here."
Rowena glanced at Jessica.
"I heard some guy talking to Adam about performing experiments on him. Then, I fell unconscious. When I woke up, Adam was gone."

One man walks out of the truck, carrying a notepad. He began looked over the crates that were already unloaded. Two other men continued loading out crates, each one looking the same save for a sticker with some sort of serial number on it.
"What do you think the turn-out will be this year?" One of the men asked as he moved a third crate onto the truck's hydrolic lift.
"I dunno. With war breaking out, I don't think it'll be too great." the man with the notepad answered.
"Maybe. What about participants. How many do you think will show up?"
"Ten, maybe?" the third man asked who stood by, waiting for the lift to come down.
"I say about sixteen." the man with the notepad added.
"Yeah? Wanna bet on it? 20 credits says you're wrong."
"You're on."

Ness raises an eyebrow at what Rowena had said. "So... the more you experiment on him... the more murderous he gets? ...That changes things..." But I'm not in a rush to save him from suffering...

"In a way. It just really pisses him off, and he tries to escape. Then, when you get in his way, he kills shit. When he starts killing, he doesn't like to stop."

"Arresting him won't work. Nor will executing him, or anything anybody can do. He's gone through so much, nothing scares him. It just angers him. Why do you think I didn't want that woman taking him away after he murdered those civilians?"
