Rowena's barely registered Xyleena dropping down and tackling Ness as an oddity.

"Tha Hell is that thing? Damn, I'd call the military, but the Xiphatians are still out there. Perhaps, I should ask them..." Hal was rather shocked to see the Xenomorph appear.

Lyra moves quick, pulling Xyleena off of Ness with no hint of hesitation. "DOWN. Xyleena, you can't just jump on people, for god's sake!" Xyleena seems heartbroken, letting out a croon, more out of Vanessa's reaction then Lyra reprimand.
"Goodnight, sorry." Echo said to Noel as she left. She then found a place to sleep herself.
"Hey scaly! Why are you scaring Tao's friends, meow!" Tao shouted at the alien.

As Xyleena is dragged off of her, Ness pauses for a few moments before slowly sitting up and placing her hand on her chest, breathing heavily. Noting Xyleena's croon, Ness takes a few more breaths before registering that the alien was saddened. "Xyleena.... -pant- You can't -pant- just... surprise me like that!.... I might've had a heart attack right now... Who knows what I would've done if that happened!"
Calming herself down a bit more with her breathing, she shakes her head at Hal. "We can take care of it... please don't involve anyone else."

Jessica ran over to Ness' side. "You alright?" She asked, sounding quite concerned. Seeing Lyra having a hold on Xyleena, she said to her, "Again I ask, what the hell is that thing?" She pointed at Xyleena with her right hand to indicate the 'thing' that she was talking about.
"The bloody hellbeast is scaring away my customers! Do you have any idea how much this will hurt our business? The annual Poker tournament marred by people talking of breaking out a prisoner and a monster attack. What are you people thinking? Get out of my bar, and never come back!" Hal starts pushing the group out of the bar.
"Look who's bloody talking, cat lady? Come 'ere love, there's a good girl." Marcus said, picking up Xyleena. "Sh, shh, its alright luv. They just didn't know that was a game you played with me, not your fault." he carried her out of the bar, treating her like an overgrown child. Lyra bowed to the others, head dipping low and blushing a bit. "terribly sorry, a new recruit that's gotten a little overzealous, won't happen again." she quickly followed Marcus out the door, looking back at the group but trying to avoid affiliating herself with them.
"...The hell just you say to me?" Jessica asked Marcus, quiet rage building in her voice, which was quickly replaced by confusion as she saw how Marcus treated Xyleena. She sighed, accepted her winnings with as gracious a "Thank you." as she could still muster, then left the bar and waited outside for Ness.
Ness nods toward Hal before adjusting her hat and walking outside the bar. She gives a look to her card and sighs a bit before stashing it into her PDA. "Well... at least we managed to solve our money problems... for now." Looking over to Xyleena, she sighs, talking in more of a disappointed tone than an angry one. "This is why I told you not to follow me in there, Xyleena... Had they called the army, there's no telling what could've happened to all of us."
Lyra stood guard over Marcus as he tried to calm Xyleena down, who was saying in a quick, higher tone voice, interrupted by her crooning "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to scare Ness like that, I just saw the cat girl acting like that and thought it'd be cute, I'd thought it'd be funny, I'm sorry Marcus, really sorry, please don't send me back to that cold place, I never want to go back-" "Shh, luv, its okay. Your fine, we won't put you back on that planet, you're family now and I would never leave you, just please take a deep breath and stop crying alright? ain't gonna do anybody a bloody bit of good it is."
OoC: I have to say, Jessica's reaction to Xyleena has made this thread for me. It really, I don't know, I just loved it. It was the subtleties and nuances you'd only get from a really good story, knowing Jessica was discriminated against in that very bar, and how she responded to a creature in a similar manner. Some deep stuff, right there.
EDIT Hang on, don't think it was the bar they were in. Still, that was more a minor cherry on the cake, still an impressive thing to orchestrate considering neither of us really planned those reactions.

Jessica walked over to where Ness and the others were. She rested her left arm behind her head, looking awkward as she was doing so in the manner that one would expect to be done with both hands, but her right arm stayed planted firmly at her side. "So...anyone plan on letting me in on what's going on? Because so far, I'm pretty lost."

Ness looks over at Jessica and shrugs a bit. "Xyleena is a... xenomorph.. I believe was the name. Despite her appearance, she's only about 2 years old and a bit of sweetheart." She sighed slightly at Xyleena's hysteria, knowing it's partly her fault, no matter what sort of justification she could give. Looks like I had the wrong impression of Marcus as well...
