"That is very true. All it is, is the unexplainable." He laughed a little bit, in good humor. It's good to feel the same frustration from another person on this journey. I feel like we'll be good friends on this endeavor.

"If you don't mind me asking, we're you going to look up something in this library?"

"I know nothing of any Earth. I'm sorry. I doubt anyone knows anything of any other planets. Space travel is impossible here. Our magic can't get us out of the atmosphere and Legaian attempts have been witnessed to crash and burn on more than one occasion. Some believe that God doesn't want us to leave, but even here in Winterhorn, we don't take up such fairy tales. I'm sorry, sir. Can I help you with anything else?" Anna asked from her desk.

"A training area? Are you a new student? This is the training area. Just imagine a target and it will materialize. Don't worry, if you miss, this floor is set up to neutralize any stray magic." The red haired girl explained to Rita. "Don't they teach you freshmen anything?" She mumbled going back to her scribbling.

The shopkeeper looked at Saya, a little perplexed. "One Gold, uh... child..."

Blake ducks down to dodge Yukino's attack to his back, as he slashes at her, in a fluid motion. At the same time, he draws his free hand towards Yukino, as flames sprout behind her.
He smiles as the flames erupt around her.
"Give up beastkin. You can't beat me."

OoC: Sorry for the delay. Trying to get this all worked out for the transfer. Is there anyone I missed, or that needs any help?

Saya routed around in her bag and took out a gold coin, she then slid it across the desk for the shopkeeper. "Got any...medical...herbs Human?" She asked the shopkeeper, as she was tying the ribbon on her staff. she gave a small grin, happy that it looked nice on the staff.

"Um... Excuse me, are you looking for something?" A voice said behind Lyra

OOC: @Slenn Just a disclaimer, Cynane and the hunters of her culture do adhere to their own system of beliefs as well. It isn't all science. I did hint at this when the battle started yesterday. But it isn't that important, just a nice little bit of background stuff.

"Huh? Oh. I... was I?" Cynane glanced around at the books again. "I kind of got caught up in all this. I guess I should read up on their fieldcraft and lore. If they have anything large and nasty out there in the forests and mountains, I want to find out. I bet I could take on anything living there, but knowing how best to do it is always key." She grimaced.
"I just hope its not all like those golem things. I don't know what they were exactly, but they sure as hell weren't living creatures. And that bothers me as much as those walking machines that Legaia uses."

Rita glared at the girl "Hey watch it, I'm not even enrolled here." she tried to imagine a target

"Yes, I'm looking for a book about plants and animals. Need to learn the local prospects If I'm going to be here long." she said, spinning another reason on the spot for the hunt. She turned to look over the new arrival.

Adam wandered around the library, trying to find any texts on Alnilam music, or sheet music. For the first time in years, his face bore a wide grin of joy.

Jessica nodded and headed back into the library once again, motioning for Sable to follow her. She ascended back up to the top of the tower, waving at anyone she recognized as she walked by. Once at the top, she sat back down by the pile of books she had gathered. "Well, we know they were the people who inhabited Castlewood before us. They protected it from intruders, same as my people do today." She began.

@Random. I see, and thank you for giving me a little bit of information. But also my disclaimer is that while science is the primary candidate to be always pitted against magic, the conversation wasn't necessarily about science versus anything. It was about the nature of magic and why it's called the unexplainable. I really don't want to repeat another Ven vs. Slenn.

"The walking machines are unusual. But one thing that I remember about machines is that they're often powered by electricity. Electricity can be found in lightning strikes and power stations. The golems are very odd, but I'm sure they come from somewhere."

"Indeed, we do protect it from the Grounded Kingdoms. I believe I have figured out this conundrum, but you may not like the answer."

Yukino smiles as the flames around her begin to take on a black color and wrap around her blade, making it look like she was holding a dark whilwind around in her hand. [color=bb66bb] "Don't be too sure about that, sir." [/color] The clone he slashed at disappears in a puff of smoke as his blade cuts through it. The foxgirl advances slowly toward the lieutenant as the flames around her blade begin to increase dramatically and the faint sound of screaming can be heard from it.

Ness opens a particularly large book in the section of the library she was in and giggles at Echo beaming at her. "You're so cute sometimes, Echo! Here..." The fedora girl hands Echo another slightly less large book.

"So cute." Echo said with a giggle as she took the book. She they looked around as if she didn't know what to do with the book.

Tao wandered around outside, still being very sad and hungry.

Jessica rested her chin on her left hand as she leaned forward against the table where her books sat. "Oh? What's your idea?" Jessica curiously asked Sable.

The door to the training area of the first floor, and Sasha walked in. "Oh hello. Is this the training area?"

Then her eye's fell on Rita. "Oh hello there." She said with a small wave.

"Hmmm. I don't know. I'm not aware of any professors currently working on any work like that. You could look, but I don't think there have ever been any occurrences of people coming here from other worlds. But if there are any people in the world who can help you, it is the mages of Winterhorn." Anna replies.

As Rita imagined a target, that is exactly what appeared. A target. It floated there.

The red haired girl looked up and chuckled. "You know you can imagine anything, right?" She looked over to another area in the room and a snowman appeared. She raised a hand and let loose a torrent of flames and destroyed the snowman, the remaining fire disappearing in partial effects as it came closer to the wall, as the Xiphataian crest lite up. "See?"

As Sasha entered, the Xiphatian symbol on the floor began to react, but there was no obvious magic.

The woman was fairly young, early 20's, had dark brown hair in a pixie cut, and sky blue eyes. She was dressed like a student. "Oh, let me help you with that. My name is Rica. It's a pleasure to meet you. Are you enrolling here?"

The girl asked and began looking through the shelves with Lyra.

"Um... yes, we do..." The shopkeeper went and gathered some medical herbs, about 10 in total, from a rack behind him. "Will this do... Miss?" The 'Miss' itself almost sounded like a question. "That will be 5 Gold, if so."

Blake grinned and slowly walked towards Yukino. He raised his sword as he approached her and brought it down, unleashing a great maelstrom of flame.

Ooc: Small fact: Fire magic is weak in watery areas. Rain and snow weaken it.

OOC: Oh, don't worry, I keep a more open mind than Ven I think. I may be a scientist too, but I rub shoulders with philosophers just as much. I'm well used to a good friendly debate on the nature of things.

Cynane laughed again.
"I know what electricity is, Dal'Sheed. Many of the monsters from my world use it to stun or even incinerate their prey. Hell, the armour that I'm wearing right was made from Kirin, affectionately referred to as the thunder rider." She gestured at the minimalistic white pieces of clothing she wore, and the ornate headdresswith the unicorn horn. The clothing that had inexplicably managed to keep her so warm in the biting cold. "I also carry a sword made from another type of thunder monster. When a hunter uses parts they take from a monster..." She trailed off.
"Well, we have our beliefs. I don't know if they make any more sense than the Shamans, but some things are kind of hard to just dismiss."
