"Eh?" Jessica tilted her head at Savranth. "I can't make us invisible....Though I suppose if we got close enough that I could see the island then I could teleport us there so we could skip the step where we need a rowboat and reduce our chance of being seen on approach to zero. That's the best I can do though." ...Assuming my Psionics are back up to snuff that is... After righting her posture and finishing her food, she suggested, "So should we go and find Cap'n Skippy then?"

"Can you handle that? I don't want you to overtax yourself. And Skippy is probably at the port." Savranth explained.

"This is more like the more frightening ones..." The soldier replied as Vanessa passed.

The town was, as always a town built for the military. In fact, Vanessa would have had to pass through two walls just to enter the town. It was in good shape and the buildings seemed to be well taken care of and the people fairly profitable, most likely due to the presence of the soldiers that frequented the shops. Such towns were like that. Built around one major aspect and this one was built around the soldiers.

She would eventually find the lab near the port. A soldier at the door. "I heard you're here to see the Doctor."

Ness nodded toward the soldier at the door. "Yes, I am. He's not too busy, I hope?" Hm... They're pretty well connected.

 

[FPSfanatic]

Yellow grimaced, and then channeled a suicidal level of electricity through his body, which would effectively stop his heart but also severly damage Envy, melting flesh and fusing it to any bones present in his body.
Red used the Force to swing his blade, slicing himself free of the arms, and allowing himself to drop. Or he would have, if he had not seen Blues face. Overcome with rage at his cowardice, he swung his blade out to slash away Blue, roaring over his cowardice. As such, he would take the spear of lightning first, though it would not stop at him and continue pushing, using him as a channel.
Green was badly winded when the hand hit the ground, and tried to quickly dig himself out. He would have failed and been crushed by the hands weight, if Tan had not arrived. With her help, he cut himself free and she unleashed a barrage of lightning at Envy's stump, hoping to caurterize it.

OoC @Salty was the ANTS thing about Rockbyrd? Wasn't sure.

"I won't know if I can until I give it a shot." Jessica answered Savranth with a left-shoulder-only-half-shrug. "Besides, I'll take proper precautions this time. You won't have to scrap me up off the deck like you did last time." ...Probably. She added with a more reassuring tone, keeping her doubtful thoughts to herself. "Anyway, if this is what we're doing, let's get on with it already." She started making her way towards where she remembered the port being, which was really only its general direction as she had only been there once.

 

[Furioso]

The combined effects of all of the lightning did not stop Envy from swallowing Yellow, but it did then turn him into a twitching half melted blob of fouls smelling boiled skin. Luckily for Blue and Yellow, their suffering did not last long, as their souls were used to fuel Envy's regeneration, and he was shortly back on his feet as red sparks arced across his body. "Don't you see? You can't kill me. Your souls will only fuel me!" he said as he shot one hand towards Purple and Green, with two more hands heading towards Tan as he cackled at them.

 

[Saltyk]

"Very well, then. If you're sure." Savranth said. Was that intentional that she only half shrugged?

Making their way to the port it wouldn't be hard to find Skippy, the old sea dog on a boat, giving orders to his sailors. "Ya bunch O' land lubbers. You call yerselves sailors?"

If Vanessa entered the lab, she would find Soto going over data.

A great scream would be heard followed by several others as the ANTS appeared in Rockbyrd. Actually, they were Xenomorphs that resulted from the GRUNTS. 100 in total, they rushed in with lightning speed and razor-sharp claws and incredible strength.

Ness walked into the lab and looked around the place a small bit before lightly knocking on the doorframe to hopefully not surprise the scientist. Well, he seems normal enough from first glance...

The general, who had built bunkers underneath the previously destroyed buildings, looked on in awe as the xenomorph mutation wave charged. "Bring up a xenomorph queen. We shall have a force take over this entire planet."
Underneath the starport, an elevator started up, dragging a queen from the depths of the holding chamber they had dug for it. It squealed once it reached sunlight, but perked up when its mental net detected the strange xenomorphs charging. children... Need, their mother...

Tan swung out with her saber to slice at one hand, as green leapt forward to neutralize the other with quick swordwork. Purple launched a stream of lightning at the hand approaching him, off hand holding his saber in preparation for the hand reaching him. The group began retreating, moving slowly back to Rockbyrd.
OoC I am getting really tired. Any way we can finish this up in the morning?

"It'll be fine. It's not gonna be like that other situation. Worst comes to worst then I simply can't do anything to start with and we have to go with the rowboat plan." Jessica managed to easily find Skippy, his loud, colorful dialect giving away his position. She walked down the closest dock to his boat and waved to get his attention. At the moment, she wasn't sure if she was hoping for or dreading the possibility that he remembered her.

Due to the immense size of his hands, the lightning and sword slices would not stop Envy's hands as they charged forward with huge amounts of momentum building behind them, the blood coming from the wounds only serving to obscure their vision. Green did the most damage, but the chunks he lopped off still flew forward as bleeding green boulders.

 

[Saltyk]

"That will be fine." Savranth said to Jessica. Seeing Skippy he yelled to him. "Hey! You old Sea Serpent!"

Hearing someone call him, Skippy looked to them. "Why if it ain't the boy and the lil catgirl. Ta what dew I owe this visit?"

The Xenomorphs made no reaction to the Queen. They already had a Master. Soto. And...

[hr]

Soto brings up a image. "My, this was quite a generous gift. The greatest gift I could have asked for." On the screen was a red Xenomorph Queen. "Heh heh heh. And with just a little time I was able to create this Queen. No... I improved on the original. Now, all her children gain the abilities of my GRUNTS, and are completely loyal to me. Heh heh heh. Now, to see how they do in battle." He turns when he hears Vanessa enter. "Who are you?"

OoC: Yes, that was planned (I was even planning this exact reveal). I didn't know the Queen could affect them, but I already had the idea of Soto creating a Queen himself. And see no reason they would react to one when they have another and a genetically altered code making them loyal to him on top of a device that controls their actions and makes them fight smarter and discern friendlies and not. In other words, giving Soto a Xenomorph was a bad idea...

Ness gave Dr.Soto a small curtsy after seeing the small image. Well... that's a few points for 'similar to Dex'. "My name is Reiss LeBlanc. I was allowed in by the soldiers patrolling here. I've heard a bit about your work, and I wished to observe and perhaps assist in a few things, if you wish me to, of course."

 

[Drakmorg]

"We've got important business! We need to get to the island North-East of Shantaio! Think you could give us a lift?" Jessica answered Skippy, shouting so he could hear her from the dock. "And my name's Jessica!"

 

[Saltyk]

"If that's whatcha want Jessy. I can help you with that.' Skippy said. "When dew ya wanna head out?"
"Good question...."

"So, you specialize in genetics, I take it? Why do you want to help me?" Soto asked, looking back to his data.

OOc: No Idea if I am doing the dialect on Skippy right...

Ness nodded again. "Yes, I do. I was hoping to learn a few more things from observation and to gain some information that my help my research." And by that... I mean learning to reverse engineer these things people create...

"Great!" That was easy enough. Jessica cheerfully exclaimed. Turning back to Savranth, she suggested, "Why don't we just get moving right now? Unless there's anything you think we should get to bring with us beforehand."

 

[Saltyk]

"Sounds good to me. We might as well. You don't mind, do you, Skippy?" Savranth asked.
"Naw. But you landlubbers betta' be able to hold your lunch. Otherwise, you'll be scrubbing the deck." Skippy replied.

Once everything was ready to go, the ship would depart for the ocean.

"Very well. But this is delicate work, and I can't tell you everything. State secrets and all. But here's a free tip." Soto said and seemed to look over his shoulder at Vanessa. "Everyone you know, everyone you've met, every single person is worthless. They mean nothing. They only have meaning if they further science. Remember that. It is what every scientist must know."

OoC: Okay, that's it for me. Bed time.

Ness nodded toward the scientist before waving goodbye. "I'll come back to observe more tomorrow. Farewell." After walking away, she dug up one of the credit cards she obtained from the brothel to pay for a hotel room. She laid in bed with a small scowl on her face. ...I'm going to have a very hard time learning more from that man without blowing my cover. He's just as bad as she is...

She sat up in bed for a moment. I'll need to check up on Jessica without a doubt tomorrow... I'm probably worrying her with my extended absence.
