Envy headed into Soto's lab. "Excuse me doctor, I have some specimens you might be interested in looking at." he turned to Ness and nodded "Hello."

Shadowy claws appeared from the Shade's formally empty slevas. With these claws, the creature raked it's claws across Yukino's navel, sides, and neck. These slashes would not be very damaging. In fact, they left little more than red marks that would puff up slightly. After it was done, the shade drifted back into a portal.

 

[Saltyk]

"Oh, is that so? Not something I really cared to study." Savranth replies. "Well, that is interesting... How did you come to accompany him?"

"Mere trash. I might as well feed them to the Queen, though." Soto replied as some GRUNTS walked over to the corpses and dragged them away.

Ness looked over at Roy-Envy and gave him a small curtsy. "Hello." She watched the GRUNTS walk off and put her hand to her chin. Hmmm... That red thing I saw must've been the Queen. "Dr. Soto, may I ask about those GRUNTS of yours? How did you come up with them?"

Yuki rubbed a spot on her neck that the shade thing had rubbed and looked a bit disturbed as she began to stare at the muse. [color=bb66bb] "...What did that thing do to me?" [/color]

The general swung out, catching one of the Ants across the throat, and surveyed what was left of his army. What had once been 500 proud soldiers had been reduced to a fraction, a hundred elites fighting a losing battle. He flipped on comms and called the vengeance, fighting to stay alive all the while. finishing that transmission, the general programmed his own bracer to cover Rockbyrd in the explosion, although it would only do surface damage to the mines and the blast would be contained by the mountains. His army fought on, until the blast consumed them and there hope for a new world for the species.

Persey grinned and smoked over to Yukino. She started rubbing the hard Yukino was rubbing her scratches with. "Just don't tell Black where they came from let her wonder." she said.

OOC: @Dot, the GRUNTS walked off, not soto

"We crossed paths in Everwood, we were heading the same way so we stuck together. That reminds me, what happened to Everwood? We only recently heard that it had been destroyed. And what happened to Rockbyrd?" replied Rita

"Really? Huh, alright. Thought you might get some use out of looking at their muscle structure or something. Ah well." said Envy to Soto

Yuki raised an eyebrow toward Persephone. [color=bb66bb] "...Right. ...I wonder how she'll react to it..." [/color] The foxgirl sheathed her sword and blushed a small bit as Persey rubbed her hand.

"Well, Rockbyrd has seen better days. It wasn't good to begin with, but after having a whole city all on it... It's far from doing well. Everwood, from what I know is doing what it can, but due to the war, it hasn't been fully repaired yet... I'm not sure if they plan to move or not, though after the Treants got involved..." Savranth explains.

"There's nothing of value in them. They're meat. My GRUNTS are every bit as fast and strong as their best and more capable. Why bother with them?" Soto replied. He looks to Vanessa. "How? I merely want to create the ultimate evolution of the human race. These GRUNTS are only a stepping stone. One day, I will make something that makes them look mediocre."

The Red Queen greedily ate it's meal.

"Be sure to tell me her reaction, if I miss it. Goodnight." Persephone said as she smoked away.

"Hold on a second, what do you mean a city fell on it? And what did the Treants do?" asked Rita, more curious than before.

"Fair enough, good day doctor." said Envy as he left the facility.

Ness shook her head in response. "That's not what I was asking, Doctor. I was asking which sequences you've used so far to create your GRUNTS."

Yuki let out a small sigh as Persephone dissipated. She decided to lay herself down by Black and go to sleep.

 

[Saltyk]

"The 'lord' of that city abused the people and had a floating city built. That city was destroyed by Legaian forces. I'm surprised the city didn't have any defense up for that, but we must have... prevented their activation." Savranth said. "As for the treants, they don't like fire and a fire started during that battle. No idea if they blame the beastkin living there or not. If they do, they may no longer be able to live there."

"Why? Do you want to create your own, little girl?" Soto replied with a small smile.

 

[Furioso]

"I see... it's amazing what we missed during our traveling." replied Rita, a little shocked about Rockbyrd, but feeling better about Everwood since she had thought it was completely destroyed.

Once a fair ways out of Port Letosh, Envy pulled out a lightsaber he had decided to keep, it was the green one. He tested it on some trees.

Ness shook her head again. "You just said you wished to improve on your design here and I'm curious as to what you feel needs improvement. I was curious as to what you felt 'worked' and what sequences didn't. Keeping the good traits and erasing the bad. Natural selection, no? "

Jessica was out on the deck of the boat with Savranth and Rita, but stood as far away from the edges of the boat as possible, basically standing right in the middle of the deck. She seemed to just be keeping to herself until those she was travelling with reached the point in the journey when they might need her assistance.

 

[Saltyk]

"Well, you can't be everywhere at once, nor can you know everything. So, there's only so much that can be done on that..." Savranth replied looking out to the ocean. "So... What do you think we'll find?"

[hr]

Soto laughed. "Natural selection? This isn't natural selection. That is far too random. No, this is God's work. Taking humanity and making them something more. Picking the good and making it better."

"I'm assuming they've built some type of port in secret, otherwise they'd have no way to do any repairs or maintenance. If so, I have no clue how they would have managed to pull off building it in secret."

Envy eventually settled into his usual hidey hole, pleased with his new toy.

 

[Saltyk]

"If you ask me, this is the least likely candidate for the port. It's so far away from the closest base. It seems unlikely they would have built one so far away from their other bases. And as you said, how would they do so in secret?" Savranth said. "Most likely they built it during the peace time..."

 

[Furioso]

"Well I guess we'll just have to see then. It is the largest island though, making it the easiest to build a port on or in, and the easiest place to conceal one." replied Rita, yawning a bit
