(To Laguna & the Rookie: We just left the hospital. He was almost a corpse a few days ago. A hatter can't help me, even if they were familiar with the design of a top hat. If we can just get to a healer, both me and the Rookie will be good to go. And we need to be, soon. We can let any opportunites to find a way home go by.)
The Rookie nodded, stuffing Tophat down again and donning his rucksack.

"It would most likely be the military outpost, they would want it well guarded to keep their ships locations a secret from an enemy." responded Rita

Envy flew off a short distance, where he debated what to do Lets see, what to do, I could sneak in, or I could just walk up to the front gate, sell myself as a mercenary of sorts... or maybe... hm... hard to choose...

OoC: Fourside's a pro-tech city, right? There's gotta be like a really high end private clinic somewhere.

"We need to find a map. I don't really have much of a sense of direction."

Grace, after walking around, Hears Laguna mention something about needing a map, "Need help?" She asks.

@Gear: Didn't the Rookie just escape from hospital?

The Rookie brought out his datapad and handed to Laguna, on it there was a map over Fourside. Also on it, in one corner, was a link to the Rookie's service record.

OoC: @Trilby Yeah, but I guess given the fact he just left, he wouldn't want to go back.

Laguna took the datapad. "Nice tech." He gave the map a read, then tapped the icon that brought up the Rookie's record. "You've been through a lot, huh?" He handed the datapad back, but kept his hand out for a handshake. "Gunnery Sergeant Laguna Loire. Nice to meet you James."

OoC: I'm gonna assume Ven's internet was turned off.
@Kirke: Didn't Rookie scan the world map, rather then a local one?

"True enough. Well then, let us move away from town before making our advance. Two people suddenly disappearing from plain view is hardly inconspicuous." Loki remarked as he began making his way out of Port Letosh.

The knights sighed when Wrazon wordlessly stowed the vials he presented back under his cloak and left Everwood, heading south.

"I don't like this one bit." one of the knights said, turning to the others. "I'm going to report this to the general." with that, the soldier set off to Forward Base.

The Rookie nodded and shook Laguna's hand then did a quick, but sharp, salute.
OoC: @Nail Considering they've been at a hospital for a few days, I'd say Tophat has had more than enough time to hack in and nick local maps. Hell, they might even have been available without any slightly illegal stuff going on.

Laguna smiled and returned the salute. "At ease, man. I don't really care about rank. Consider us on the same level."

Grace looks at Rookie and Laguna, and walks up to them, "Hey, I suppose you guys aren't from around here, then?" She asked.

Rita nodded and followed Loki

A few moments later, an eager looking young man approached the gate at the defense base, waving to the guards

Laguna turned to Grace. "It's a long, long story, and I don't even know that much of it."

 

[Wackymon]

Grace chuckles, "Sounds familiar, same thing here." She said.

 

[Kirke]

The Rookie turned to Grace and nodded slightly.

"It occured to me, that even after all this time we have spend traveling, we know nothing about one another." Loki commented as he left Port Letosh's limits. "What can you tell me about this place you grew up in, save for the fact that all there are mages?"

One of the soldiers who was stationed at the gates of the base looked towards the young man. Picking up his rifle, he left the guardhouse and greeted him. "Who are you? and what do you want?" the soldier asked, going through the motions, rather then being suspicious.

OoC: Me neither. Nothings really going on, and I don't know what Grace would do.
"So... What are you guys looking for?" She asked.

"My freind here is hurt. We're looking for someone to patch him up."

Grace nods, "Well, mind if I help?" She asks, "Might not know the city that well, but I think I'd know someone who would know where to find a Doctor!" She says, "If you see an odd fellow, who gives you the chills, tell him you need help, and Grace recommended it." She said.
