Rita pointed to the jewel in her necklace "That's how it works, it's called a blastia. It harnesses the magical energy in the air and allows us to use it to our advantage. There's all sorts of types, this being the smallest. The bigger ones are mostly used to create massive shields around cities to hold out monsters, with the very biggest being used as super weapons, but those are mostly all destroyed now. Naturally, I've done enough research to make the most out of my blastia. I already told you about the elements I draw from, and between that I've mastered 38 spells, plus some more that are simply experimental at this stage."

Envy called out to Icarus "Oh come on, you can do better than this! None of them have even died yet!"

Seeing the fly latch on, he grabbed in from his head, slammed it into the ground. He suddenly passed out.

Charlotte screamed as the fly landed on her stomach as she quickly ripped it off, threw it to the ground and repeatedly fired at its head. After that little panic attack, she passed out as well.

Seeing the group making sure that Icarus was occupied, Noel switched to a simply beam rifle as her Fin Funnels set back to recharge. Taking aim, she fired at Icarus's legs, grabbing Kyosuke and Charlotte and retreated for the moment.

OoC: Eh, I need sleep and probably won't be on tomorrow until much later or even at all due to hockey. Night.

"Talk later. Goodnight." Echo said as she did like Ness.

"Ugh. That smell's so strong it leaves a bad taste in my mouth." Jessica muttered to herself, almost feeling sick from the overwhelming scent the magic in the air left her to smell. As she noticed the phantoms walking about, she began to watch them intently. What in the world? She pondered to herself as she watched them all go about their daily former-lives.

All the spirits did was act as though they were still alive. Some seemed to talk to neighbors, practice magic, or go about cleaning the destroyed remains of their homes. However, they had no effect on the environment. Yet, they didn't seem to notice. Nothing they did had any effect, but to them, the world was unchanged.

 

[Chungus]

"I see. I wonder if artifacts such as those are used in this world also. It would explains how those odd stone creatures can function, and how the Xyphatians power those wall-mounted arnements I had seen at that base we were some time ago now." Loki thought aloud, then paused to get back on track. "Either way, 38 spells. That is quite a impressive arsenal. You are worthy of your title then, indeed. What are these expirimental spells you speak of, however? Are they what you write of in that book of yours?"

Rémy was in luck and happened to stand near the glowing golem, his shots striking near what remained of the golem's neck, further damaging it, albeit a little.

Hit by the fireball, the golem's metal became more pliable, and with the repeated lightning-enhanced blows, the golem eventually crumbled, leaving only its legs behind.

With only two of the golems remaining, Icarus opted for a diferent strategy, two two golems moved out of position, alowing the shield to collaps. "You watch your words when you speak to your king, boy!" Icarus said to Envy after hearing his remark, then placed Envy under the effects of the puppetry. Turning to Savranth and Rémy. Using his wind magic, Icarus lifted up the remains of the smashed golems, and threw it at them.

The two remaining golems moved in for the kill after Kyosuke and Charlotte passed out, but gave up when Noel retreated with them.

Enemies: Left golem 3 - Damaged.
Right golems 2.
Flies.
Icarus - mildly wounded.

No more grouping, obviously.

"Oh. Yeah, that seems normal."

Brooke quietly approached an area of the wall not currently being patrolled, and drew a transmutation circle on it with a piece of chalk.
Parts of the wall dipped in, while other parts slid out, creating hand- and foot-holds. Additionally, a small knife slid out of the wall and into Brooke's hand.
The girl slowly climbed up the wall, staying close to it to avoid detection, and then quickly moved across the top and silently dropped down.

Rémy quickly dashed towards Icarus to avoid the debris, assuming Icarus wouldn't endanger himself by redirecting the rubble. Then, he pounced at Icarus, teeth and claws prepared to slice and tear.

 

[Furioso]

Rita nodded "Yes, they use mythril to channel their magic, I was able to get some as well. I've used it to make up for the difference between the make up of the magical energy in this world and my world. As for the experimental spells I have a theoretical lightning based spell, and if that one works it could lead to more things. There's also a mid level spell that the math says should work, but I have no idea what it's effects would be. Finally, the fruit of my research so far is a spell combining all 4 of the elements I use in order to tap into the energy used in the creation of a planet."

Envy resisted at first, but stopped resisting when he realized what Icarus was making him doing. A look of glee on his face he approached Savranth and attacked him with an attempted high kick to the head.

 

[Saltyk]

Unable to use his left arm, Savranth opts to use Speed enhancing magic to dodge a few attacks, while moving to keep it difficult to hit him. Still a piece of rubble strikes him on his hip, knocking him down. Getting back to his feet he growled. "I won't lose..."

When he saw Envy come for him, Savranth dodged under the kick, sticking his sword in the ground, in a fluid motion as he used wind magic to push Envy back a bit to free up some distance, before taking his blade back up. Hoping that Envy would no longer attack at this point.

Icarus used his own speed enhancing magic to dodge Remy at the last second, though Remy did get a cut in. As he brought his blade down to chop into Remy's neck.

No one seemed to notice Brooke.

Brooke looked around the base for patrols and light sources.

Well, I certainly wasn't expecting this. Maybe I can still get some answers out of this though. Jessica thought to herself as she continued to observe the ghosts. Hmm...I wonder... She looked around for a bit until she noticed a nearby ghost that was seemed to be thinking it was taking a jog. She walked over and placed herself squarely in the ghosts path, looking straight at it as she did so.

The ash ghost stopped and looked at Jessica. "Can I help you?"

Brooke would see at least one patrol. Lights were on in every building. Being a base during wartime, it would be heavily guarded and under constant watch.

Rémy landed on all fours, then quickly rolled to the side, away from Icarus' blade.
Due to his rapid change in position, he was now on the opposite side of Icarus from when he pounced. While Icarus was following through on his failed attack, Rémy turned and dashed forward to bite Icarus in the throat.

Brooke turned, hurriedly scrawled a transmutation circle, and a short message, and created another set of hand- and foot-holds. She climbed the wall, dropped down on the other side, and quickly sneaked away from the base.

Jessica was more than a little surprised that the ghost actually seemed to take notice of her, though not in an unpleasant way. "No, I was just...actually...yes, you might be able to. Could you possibly tell me what today's date is?" Jessica replied to the spooky ghost, seeming at most only slightly unnerved by its appearance.

 

[Saltyk]

Remy would stop short as Icarus grabbed him with his left hand. "Do you think to fight me like this?" He says throwing Remy down, as he went to thrust his sword at him.

"Today's date? It's April 12th, 8957 AE XX. Why do you ask?" The ash ghost replied.

Volarian looked off at the wall. Odd. What was that girl doing here? I was watching to catch her in the act if she had some ill intent...

I really hate to do this, but I don't think I can finish this fight without it coming off really anticlimactic. I still have work in the morning and all. I really hate to hold it again, though.

Well, turns out now I have to go find out what the date actually is....This might still prove enlightening though. "Um, I just forgot whether it was the 12th or the 13th. Thanks." Jessica replied to the ghost as she stepped out of its way. Wait a minute, did...you know, I couldn't tell if that was supposed to be a man or a woman...anyway, did they just say it was 'April'? That's an odd coincidence...
