"Alright, fine, great, whatever." Sarah almost shouted at Axton. She turned to Ness. "Well, not making the diplomatic relationship between us and their little empire worse would be a great start. beyond that... I don't know, getting them to make nice with us would be amazing."

Rozlynn seemed to squish lower in her chair when she saw Ness looking at her.

Thrall shrugged. "I do not know. Ask the jolly man."

 

[DotSlash]

[color=666666] "Uh... These cards they gave us light up when they want people for... something..." [/color] Ness replied, the sound of clothes coming off sort of audible as she spoke. [color=666666] "Aw.... Alright, I understand that." [/color] She said, feigning being disappointed. She quickly came out of the alleyway and lightly placed her chin on the catgirl's shoulder. [color=666666] "To be honest, I've got little to no idea why they're calling me. All I know is that since the card's green, it's not all that terribly important. Still, I'd rather not piss them off, especially since we're in their domain." [/color]

[color=666666] "Right..." [/color] Ness stated as she took a moment or two of looking toward Rozlynn and then looking back toward Sarah.

Ness smiled a small bit to herself before nodding at Sarah. [color=666666] "We'll see what we can do about that... Are we going to be provided a translator or do they speak the same language as us?" [/color]

Just as Thrall said this, Wheaton looked up from his work and held up two visa and two phones, one looking a bit different from the others. "You have questions? I'm here to answer them the best I can."

Axton and Seras would quietly wait for the meeting to finish up.

Feeling Ness' chin on her shoulder, the woman giggled a bit and placed a hand on Ness' head, patting her gently. "Sorry, I don't get to make the rules." She apologized. She hummed to herself for a moment before asking, "Say, since it's apparently not that important, do you think anyone would mind if I came along?"

"Jolly man?" Sibylla repeated in confusion. She slithered close to the table, and soon after seemed to pick up on Wheaton's presence and turned towards him. "Oh! Yer that other fella what was talkin'!" She nodded somewhat enthusiastically, causing her snakes to sway uncomfortably so as she did. "Uhm, yeah. What's a 'card'? And a 'phone'?"

Ness gave off a giggle of her own once the catgirl patted her head, though she was thinking for a moment or two. The catgirl might notice that Ness wasn't wearing her fedora at the moment, so her hair was getting messed around as it was patted. [color=666666] "Hmmm.... Odds are they won't mind." [/color] She stated as she closed her eyes with a smile on her face. [color=666666] "And if they do, you can just say you were following me to try and talk with the big guy. Win-win." [/color] After a few more moments of this, the woman opened an eye and looked over toward the catgirl. [color=666666] "How long do you think you'll stick around after all that though?" [/color]

Wheaton tilted his head a bit and scratched behind his head. "Well... a card is this little piece of plastic that holds information. This one just tells us and others who you are. As for what a phone is, it's this nifty little device that lets you talk to other people." He said, holding up each object as he explained them.

 

[Drakmorg]

"Sounds like a plan to me then! Get your hat and let's get going." The cat-woman replied, taking her hand off of Ness' head. She gently shrugged and answered, "Don't know exactly how long for sure. I have plenty of time on deployment because I'm supposed to give this place a decent look-over, and they assumed it'd take me a while to meet who I'm supposed to."

Sibylla seemed to marvel at the idea of the plastic card. "Really? Howssit do that? Issit some kinda magic talkin' thingy like in stories an' stuff?!" She gave Wheaton a look of as much confusion as she could manage as she said, "But Ah kin already talk to folks though."

Samus looked at the hologram of the alien creature when it come up, scanning it. After that, she merely sat in scilence, letting the others talk it over.

"Thankfully, they speak English. For the most part, at least. Rozlynn can translate any confusions. Any other questions?"

Wheaton smiled, delighted at the emotion of discovery. "A magic called technology, yes! Wondorous thing, lets you do so much in this world. And the phone lets you talk to anybody who has a phone, regardless of distance! Quite the revolutionary design, if I say so myself."

[color=666666] "Alright, good to hear." [/color] Ness replied as she lifted her head off of the cat-woman's shoulder and tapped her PDA a few more times before her white fedora materialized in her hands. She slipped it on quickly and began to head in the direction of the WAOA building. [color=666666] "So you're more or less sightseeing after you talk with the big guy? Maybe I can join you on that." [/color]

Ness kept silent for a moment or two before looking back up to Sarah. [color=666666] "What caused things to go south on the last diplomatic mission?" [/color]

"When do we leave?" Axton asked.

Samus stayed quiet, letting the others ask.

"Our diplomats were attacked by a group of assassins. Killing them got the locals already unhappy with us in a tizzy. We had to pull back our diplomatic teams and give their Long Fang time to talk everyone down." Sarah explained. "Soon as you're ready Axton."

"Well I say we get going then...Maybe get something to eat first though." Axton said to the group.

[color=666666] "....Wait, the locals got angry at people defending themselves from unseen attackers?" [/color] Ness said, raising an eyebrow. She then sighed. [color=666666] "Well, if the people we're dealing with are that impractical, this probably will go south quick." [/color] She tapped the side of her cheek as she thought a little more on the situation, looking toward the floor now.

Sarah was about to answer, but thought better of it. "I suggest you ask those involved. More then enough hearsay has occured on that subject already. Now, you can all load into the lift, and it will take you to our canteen. From there, load into another lidt, which will take you to our control room."

Axton went into the lift while Seras lingered around Ness.

Samus followed Axton to the lift wordlessly.

Ness stood up from her chair before looking back to Sarah. [color=666666] "And who was involved in the last one?" [/color]
Amelia, Carmen, and the others all moved onto the lift after Axton, most silent about it.

Sarah blinked. "Rozlynn and her bodyguards." Sarah said without elaboration.

Rozlynn stood and quickly walked to the lift, looking embarassed.

Ness paused as she watched Roz walk past before nodding toward Sarah. [color=666666] "Understood. I'll ask more later." [/color] She said quickly before turning and loading up onto the lift as well.
