"That's just perfect. Really it is, that's all I needed right now. All the troubles of Scathis, all the rumblings. Now I'm here. This sucks" he hummed, pausing for a second to itch underneath his collar. The things were pointless and he hated them so much. With the energy that had been sustaining him fading as he became less nervous he started to feel weaker. "I'm starving" he announced
After an indeterminate, yet substantial, amount of time, a white common daisy sprouted from the ground near Nina's hands. Opening her eyes, she stared at it for a moment. She plucked the daisy and turned it over in her hand, looking at it from all angles. It's a start... She shrugged and tucked the flower into her hair, then stood up. She yawned, then went off to look for as shady an area as she could find.
"My family hold magic in the highest regard. I know this will get me back in their good graces." Candace's voice was a mixture of confidence and desperation.
The XPOL troopers raised their weapons, and the other police quickly followed suit. The lieutenant picked up a megaphone and said; "Drop your illusions immediately or we will open fire!" - He then dropped the megaphone and raised his own blaster rifle. Some distance away, the three barrels of the heavy blaster whirred as they spun up, ready to unleash a torrent of destruction.
"Fire, fire, fire! Take her down!" - He yelled, and with a cacophony of sound the others started firing. The XPOL sniper, sitting on a roof-top, took aim at the Blue who was making arm movements and fired, calling that target to the other two snipers as well. They were not quite as fast, but soon enough they took shots at the same Blue. The others took shots at random, with a laser beam streaking across the entire group while bullets and blaster bolts hailed.
The fire went straight through most illusions. The ones making movements were hit - showing they were made out of water, the bullets flying through them.
The one who was shot at laughed. If the beam was able to vaporise water, some illusion would be hit, otherwise the shots did nothing but get dangerously close to the portal building.

The XPOL lieutenant called to his troopers to move up, and told the cops to get to high ground. The laser would quickly turn the water into steam, while the blaster bolts actually turned any water it hit into plasma, briefly. "Get moving people! Quickly!" The cops scrambled into their cars and began to drive away. Meanwhile, the XPOL squad rushed the portal station entrance with guns aimed.
A massive wave rolled up from behind the building, washing away everything that could not stand it's ground. It went quite far, even to the buildings further in, even though they were not damaged, as the force of the wave was not strong enough anymore, and vanished into the canal. The illusions seemed to melt into it, and vanishing.
The XPOL squad would be washed away, unless they managed to scramble into the station at the last moment.

Only three of the XPOL troopers made it inside, the other two were washed away. The lieutenant, the medic and the laser rifle trooper stopped just inside, catching their breath and carefully scanning their surroundings. "Stay alert, but keep your fingers off the triggers and remember that she's got illusions and can control your blood." "Let's just hope that trick of hers wore her out..."
While walking Faa thought he heard something and he tensed up. The sensory ability of Scath was very high, with hearing and smell being very sensitive. However their greatest natural sense was sight and Faa couldn't leverage this from the distance he was. "You hear that?" He asked. His hunger could wait for now.
