The trio shared a room at the hotel, happy for the opportunity to bathe after spending nearly all day in the sun.

Since Shana seemed to lose interest in talking to me, I head into the bathroom to take a shower. I certainly need one.
"At first, yes. Then we got into engineering, medicine, intelligence, diplomacy, space travel. Peacekeeping was our job, and military action was our first response but not the only one."
As anxious as I am to get clean, I take my time to carefully take out my pistol from my backpack. Turning on the shower to mask the noise, I quickly take it apart to make sure no sand got into it. After wiping the pieces down with a towel, I put it back together and place it back in my backpack for now. Then I have my shower proper. It is very nice. After taking my sweet time, I exit, feeling like a new man. I find a chair and sit down, decompressing after everything that has happened today.
