The thing that bugs me the most about that thread is that i heard that the OP of it is the now ex boyfriend of this Girl and he instead of dealing with the cheating in private called up a internet lynch mob to go after his ex.

That and I'm getting sick of these 1 post count to their name users who start flame war threads and get away with it scot free.

He's actually been suspended, as have a looooot of people in that thread (mod wrath in there is a minimum of probation now) - not just the new people; at least one person said "fuck it" and requested a ban. They'll be remembered...for a bit.

I think a good way to commemorate it would be to screenshot the amount of replies in the thread when it finally comes to an end, and frame it somewhere. Maybe with the caption "Never forget..." Or more likely "Never again..."

It's complete garbage. I can't believe people are absolutely losing their minds over this for this long. Normally stuff like this dies at the end of the day, and it's entirely gone by next week.

Remember the TotalBiscuit debate when he was effortlessly censored because the game developer didn't want a negative review to be the most popular result for their game? I'd understand people getting bent out of shape for that, when censorship is used against criticism and there exists a system that allows that to happen so easily and undoing it took too much effort despite TotalBiscuit having so much evidence and manpower helping him undo it...

But we're talking about a Flash game getting boosted projections because of the game developer...

I think it's just being used as more fire against the so called "SJWs" though honestly, I don't have too much of a problem with that.

I can't say I blame ya - that place is a shitstorm beyond belief, though it has gotten noticeably better than it was a few days back. Unfortunately, I don't see you being able to actually avoid it, seeing as how you're a mod and all.

The only reason the thread is so popular is because it's mostly filled with new members who had no where else to talk about it. If you look at the thread, I think the majority of posters now are people who made their accounts just two days ago.

Yeah, I figured that out a bit after I posted that...

It didn't surprise me much when 4chins started deleting the threads, especially on places like /v/ and /b/, because 4chins has been getting strict lately about disallowing planning and discussion about in-progress raids. Surprises me that Reddit hasn't picked up the torch, regardless of whether or not someone in the main gaming subreddit started removing everything that breathes, because there is surely a subreddit out there that's become the hotspot of this shitfit.

It's weird. The Escapist is looked down upon by a lot of the Internet because everyone views it as bloated with adware, having a strange community, and being too heavily moderated. Our only redeeming features are Yahtzee and Sterling, and being the launching pads for other popular shows like Extra Credits and Doraleous and Associates. But I guess we've become the bastion against censorship for complaining about this one womyn.

I don't know how I feel about that.
