"But if you think you're just going to take us down, then you've got another thing coming!"

*CLANNNGG*

Ringstar caught the staff with its left hand. Try as he might the Beastman was not getting it back.

"Heh! You think you stand a chance against us, Beastbastard? You have any idea whose fists you're dealing with here!?! These fists are the heaviest shit you've ever seen!! THEY'RE HEAVY WITH ALL OF MY PRIDE!!!!!!! UUUUURRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAA!!!!"

The Beastman didn't even see it coming. With a swift flicker punch to the "face", his Gunman's grip on the staff faltered. Throwing away the useless weapon, Anthony proceeded to assume a peek-a-boo stance as he took jabs at the hapless foe in front of him.

"You think you can just come in here and kill me? HUH!? WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU STEPPED IN THE RING WITH!?!? I'll crush you! I'll destroy you! I'LL PUNCH YOU IN THE BLOODY MOUTH!!!"

The assault was relentless. 1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2. Right jab followed left as Ringstar "danced" around his enemy. The bright green monkey-like Gunman tried to get a shot in but to no avail.

"Your fists have no weight! They have no power! They're nothing but empty threats and they reek of shit! YOU'RE NO MATCH AGAINST THE JAGUAR!!!!"

With only a moment's pause, the crumpled frame of the enemy's Gunman hung limp on its two legs as Ringstar charged a downward smash.

"FEEL THE WEIGHT OF MY FISTS YOU DIMESTORE MINIBOSS!!! TOOOOOOOOORRRRYYYYAAAAAHHH!"

Ringstar's fist connected, sending the Gunman smashing in to the ground with a tremendous thud that shook the ground all around them, leaving only a crumpled heap of metal and various liquid discharges laying on the ground at his feet.

"So then, who wants to die next?"

"What's-there-to-think-about-Four-Eyes? They're-Beastmen-we're-humans. They-want-us-dead-we-them-dead. Now-get-your-ass-in-gear-and-ready-to-fight-with-that-hulk-you-call-a-Gunman."

Tsk. Connor briefly wondered how it was she continued to survive without ever thinking about things like tactics, but it quickly became clear. Simon's rebellion was probably drawing away the best Beastmen. These guys who had just shown up were probably scraps compared to what others had dealt with before them.

He felt for a moment as though he should try to coordinate an attack, but even having known these people for only a few minutes clued him in to the fact that they wouldn't listen.

"We fight with fighting spirit! Planning works sometimes, but small fry like that? Have some fun and relax!"

She, he had to admit, was right. The only thing here was a straight up fight; they may have been out-numbered right now, but they seriously out-gunned the enemy. Trying to inject tactics into it with this lot was just going to complicate things.

With that he readied Justicar's cannon-arm, jumping and unleashing blasts into the fray as explosions and dust sought to engulf and conceal everything. Enemy Gunmen were falling left and right, so much so that he wasn't even sure that the elite had their goons any more.

One Gunman, perhaps the sole surviving mass-produced model, armed with a large club came after him. Not a problem though. Justicar turned, he pulled back and the sword came loose. In a flash the Gunman fell to the floor as little more than shredded scrap-metal.

As the battle raged around them, two mass-produced Gunmen huddled together in the midst of it all. A bull, and an ape, the both of them stood back-to-back as they tried to shield themselves from the psychotic humans tearing a swathe into them. If only they'd had a third ally to look up.

From above came the lashing tail of the blue baboon Gunman, lashing itself around the stunned pair like a noose before tightening them both together. Shiro came to ground, ceasing the leap it had taken to get above them, and tightening its grip on them even further. Within, Seiichi shouted, "Get. Off. My. PLANET!"

Shiro spun. It spun, and it spun, and it spun a bit more as it picked up speed with each rotation. The Gunman caught in its grip were completely helpless, the Beastmen within screaming in abstract terror as the world around them dissolved into an indescribable blur of color and flashing lights. They begged for mercy, shouting it through their mics. "What's that?" Seiichi asked. "You want to stop? Fine."

He released the tail, and all at once all the momentum driving the Beastmen in a circle was now directed straight forward; they both flew at a speed far faster than something of their weight class should have been able to accomplish. Incidentally, they were lucky enough to have a target in the form of Ringstar, bashing on other mechs to its hearts content.

"Is that all you got? Come on you assholes, who's the big shot around here?!?"

Anthony was laying into the small fry hard and heavy, stopping only to notice a duo of enemy Gunmen hurtling towards him at ridiculous speeds, having been thrown by that Seiichi kid's Great White Hope Machine, wrapped up like a birthday present.

"Oh for me? Thanks, but I don't like cheap Gunmen and stinking fur!"

The man tries not to laugh at his own stupid one-liner as he viciously jerks the controls, spinning Ringstar in place a few rounds and then springing up to deliver a devastating uppercut to the spinning Beastball.

"AND YOU'RE OUTTTTTTTAAAA HEEEEEERRREEEEE!"

The two Gunmen change flight paths from horizontal to vertical in 0.78 seconds, as they start making their ascent into the atmosphere.

*Pling*

"Nice throw there, Dreamer kid! Now let's waste the rest of 'em!"

Ayla was hardly out either, dancing around the stragglers at the flank until there wasn't a flank anymore. Dancing described her Gunman rather accurately as it dextrously jumped, spun, and acrobatically danced around the various mass produced weaklings before promptly engulfing them in plasma streams, one after another.

She sends another message to the pilot of the knightly one, Justicar. "And, to be honest" She pauses, roaring as she kills another Gunman with a gout of super heated flames right in the face. "This is small fry, and you really think anyone'll listen beyond useful suggestions at this stage?" She laughs lightly, given how.. enthusiastic some members of the group were.

She briefly leaps back to take stock of the situation in case anyone needs support, however unlikely that may be.
If someone does, she rushes to aid them with a few drill explosive shots. If not, she simply looks around to see if anyone else is incoming, and where that girl Yumi got to and what she's up to. The battle is more or less won, after all, at this point. Taking the tactical big picture, as it were.

Fist drops it's rock and dashes to one of the elite gunmen while Bruce shouts" finally a good one" Fist engages it's foe by grabbing its arm. It doesn't take too long for the arm to snap, but long enpugh that the other arm clawed away a section of fists armor. Bruce then tried to grab his oppositions other hand, Fists lack of a second hand proved to make him take a predictable path.

The Elite gunman dodged, and instead of being grabbed, grabbed Fists hand arm. The gunman then pulls the arm dragging fist and, with the assistance of some tripping, causes Fist to stumble and fall forward.

The gunman begins to approach Fist from behind as it (Fist) struggles to clamber up.

It had barely been two minutes since the battle had started, and already the end result was obvious. Though they may have had the advantage of greater numbers the Beastmen were simply no match for the human's superior firepower, not to mention their motivation. Though certainly corny, Seiichi's speech had been right about one thing: these "soldiers" had almost zero reason to be fighting, a fact that could easily be deduced from their lackluster attacks and overly cautious tactics. One could easily tell that the Beastmen were trying harder to stay alive then they were to win; sadly they were failing at both.

Though Wolf's unending stream of bullets couldn't hope to match up against Shiro or Ringstar's sheer power and might, Layla's Gunman quickly proved to be an effective flanker. Distancing itself from the thick of the fighting, the speedy robot showered its foes with hot lead and missiles; although none of the Beastmen fell under the relentless assault, they did find themselves unwittingly herded towards the two mecha in the center of the valley. Firestorm likewise proved to be an invaluable asset. Thanks to its searing flames and blazing fists, the brilliantly colored Gunman had forced its foes tightly into the valley's center, where the rock formations offered a bit of respite from her plasma and explosives. Ayla cheered as her mech danced along the outskirts of the battle, frying any enemy that dared get close to her.

Within the shifting ranks of battle, Justicar and Fist managed to hold their own. With decent enough kill counts, the two Gunman adroitly navigated the scarred and burning battlefield. When needed, they dealt some serious damage with their sword and fists; otherwise their cannons gave the Beastmen another potential damage source to deal with.

However, no one could compare to the two fighters standing in the center of the valley: Shiro and Ringstar destroyed any foe that came within reach of fist or horn. Their herculean feats of strength were incredible, their improvised teamwork amazingly coordinated. Even the two remaining Beastman Commanders were reluctant to approach the titans, after witnessing what cruel fates had befallen their comrades.

Finally, the ceaseless sounds of combat entered a brief lull. Siiechi and Silver seemed to have brought their Gunman to a halt, striking an awe-inspiring pose as their latest victims burned to ash in the atmosphere high above. Connor, Layla, and Ayla had likewise stopped, but had chosen the more practical option of scanning the battlefield for remaining foes. Only Bruce still found himself locked in combat, struggling to get up after being knocked to the ground by one of the still-standing Elites, shaped to resemble a jade bear.

The remaining Beastmen, a handful of regulars and the two Commanders, stood still for a brief moment; none of them moved nor made a sound. Then, as though responding to an inaudible signal, they began what had to be one last, reckless assault. It was clear from their actions that the Beastmen knew they were going to lose; there was no other way to explain the desperation and haste with which they flung themselves forward, each howling or hooting some battle cry or another.

While the lackeys, seemingly incapable of any other course of action, charged through the sea of columns towards Ringstar and Shiro, the two Elites took other paths: the green bear reached forward, wrapping its beefy paws around two of Fist's limbs, an arm and a leg to be exact. While the Commander began to spin around and around, carrying Bruce's struggling Gunman along with it, its comrade, an azure orangutan, circled around the edge of the battlefield, using its long arms to dexterously swing from one rocky spire to the next.

With the two fighters swarmed by the last of the lackeys, the emerald Elite targeted Justicar and Firestorm with his attack. Finally coming to a halt, the Beastman pilot released its grip on Fist, allowing the robot to fly through the air. Smashing through several of the stone pillars, Fist eventually collided with the other two mechs, knocking them all off-balance for the next few moments.

In the meantime, the Elites made their ways towards Layla's Dark Wolf. Though it was apparent that they wouldn't stand a chance against one of the tougher Gunman, they might have a shot at taking down the speedy one, assuming they could catch it. Once it had recovered from its bout of dizziness, the green ursine began to charge towards Wolf; meanwhile the final Elite, swinging about at an alarming rate, and already almost closed in on its target, reaching out with a lengthy limb to snatch at Dark Wolf, ignoring the bullets that Layla was sending its way. The Commanders were determined to get a kill out of this, even if it cost them their lives. Which it probably would.

As the last of the massed Gunmen, maybe five or so, charged from every direction, Seiichi watched them come with anticipation. "BRING IT ON!" he yelled, happy to be given a chance to knock his oppressors down a few pegs. The first, a vaguely-humanoid one, leaped into the fray to be met by the ironclad fist of Shiro. Though not dead, it was propelled away as the Wandering Warrior wound up a second punch. His right arm collided with the outstretched hand of a bull Gunman, pushing the Beastman's mecha back a few meters.

It roared in defiance, trying to impale Shiro with its horns. Seiichi leaned his mech back, grabbing the closest horn with a vicegrip and swinging up and behind him. The bull crashed into a stone column, it and the mech both crashing to the ground in an avalanche of rubble. The Dreamer grinned and wiped a bit of sweat from his brow as he turned to face another. This one was the largest of the mass-produced mechs, a gorilla of some sorts with absolutely massive arms.

It punched, and though Shiro tried to counter he was caught off-balance, and lifted straight off his feet by the blow. Seiichi let out a yelp of surprise over the comm as he was bashed into the ruins, stone beams falling onto Shiro from above.

Dust and rubble choked the air, and for a brief moment the Gorilla Gunman thought it had won. Then came a growling voice from beneath.

"I will... never... stop... FIGHTING!"

Shiro rose from beneath, holding a stone pillar like a bat in his hands. With a swing, the Dreamer shouted, "Rebel's STRIKE!"

The hit was a home run, and the enemy Gunman, now smashed into three separate pieces went flying off into the distance. Panting inside of Shiro, Seiichi turned to his boxing comrade and extended an arm as the remaining four Gunmen closed in on them. "Hey, crazy! Free, right?! Let's give these bastards a tornado special!"

The Orangutan Gunman closed in on Layla, but she easily dodged the clumsy attack. A few flicks later and she had the energy cannon in her back charging up. All she had to do was stay out of their range for a few minutes. That was easy enough, they were slow and clumsy.

"come-on-you-lazy-furrlovers-can't-you-get-one-hit-even-close-to-me? No? Just-a-little-closer."

She began running then, and reached the top of the incline in a few minutes, firing a few missiles at the oncoming Beast bosses, a few volleys to keep their attention.

30 seconds left...

She'd outdistanced them and a few button presses later, was on all fours and the energy cannon had revealed itself from her back, shimmering with a Spiral glow. She began locking onto them and fired a final volley of missiles at them, which clouded their sensors and viewpoints.

10 seconds...

They'd lined themselves up perfectly, one shot and they'd be nothing but bubbling metal. They continued to close, oblivious to their fate as they attempted to evade the rockets.

3 seconds...

"Plasma Cannon online, Miss Green, fire when ready."

you sure as hell bet your ass I'm ready to fire this baby.

She took aim....and fired. The one in the lead, the bear Gunman, was obliterated immediately, bathed in a green light for a full two seconds before disappearing entirely. The monkey one behind him was a bit more fortunate, in a way. Most of the energy had been used to disintegrate the Bear, and the monkey only took about a quarter of it, and instead of being killed instantly, the pilot inside was enveloped in azure tinted metal, still bubbling. He screamed horrifically, an echo sent across the canyon before Layla got back on her feet and ended his suffering, even if it was something he deserved, she didn't want to hear that, it gave her a headache. The gunman shut down and simply stood there, it's first few feet of metal bubbling from the heat of the cannon.

"Well-that-was-fun,"She announced to the A/V's,"Anymore-down-there-for-me? She inquired.

Anthony let out a long whistle in admiration of Seiichi's fighting style. He didn't even give the first three a chance to move in on Free's sleek black jaguar of death.

"You sure don't lack in spirit kid, I like your style!" He said as Ringstar put a thumb up in what must've been the corniest pose ever done by a Gunman. Ever.

The remaining lackeys had surrounded the dynamic duo by this time, though.

"Come and get it you toothless bastards! WELCOME TO DIE!!!!"

"Hey, crazy! Free, right?! Let's give these bastards a tornado special!"

"Hell, I don't see why not! LET'S PARTYYYYYYYY!!!"

Ringstar grabbed Shiro by one of its forearms while making a fist with the other one. As they gathered momentum, the two quickly became a flurry of black and white, spinning like a deadly top.

"WHOOOOHOHOOHOHOOOO!!! Now THIS is going to be some crazy ass fun!! You ready, you filthy bathroom carpets!?!? THIS IS THE WHITESTAR SPECIAL #1! VORTEX OF DUALITY!!! OOOOWWWWWWWW!!!!!"

The Whitestar Special slammed into the Gunmen all around the pair with the force of a tidal wave, and the subtlety of a second one immediately after the first. Metal and bits of furry flesh were shredded as the fist spun at faster and faster speeds. Seiichi and Free could no longer even see properly, instead following the sounds of whimpering Beastmen as their Gunman top mercilessly sliced through them. One, then two, then three. Only the final mech, the bull, had even a second to turn and try to run away before the Vortex of Duality caught up with him.

In the span of a second, the metal body was caught up in the grinder, and chewed out into scrap.

Finally sensing the fight was finished, Shiro released the jaguar-looking comrade it had picked up, and stopped to give Seiichi a moment's rest. As he panted to himself, he couldn't help but feel giddy over he and the other humans' stunning victory.

Bruce, after recovering from a bout of dizziness his sudden air travel had given him, uprighted and turned around Fist, only to see that the battle was already over.
He opens the comms and in a nonchalant manner says the words "So, what did I miss?"

With the battle more or less heading to victory, rather clearly, she continued to observe from her slightly higher ground what was going on to see who might need support.

Which meant she saw the incoming Bruce-Missile and managed to side step it with ease, glancing briefly to double check he's more or less alright, before noticing the two more specialised Gunmen heading towards Layla.

Her first instinct is to rush in there, but she realises Layla seemed to be trying to get distance to initiate a plan of some sort. So, she fires off some precision drill explosives, targeting the pair of elites, as well as slightly in front of them, her objective being to stall and stun them, which when combined with Layla's own mass of missiles, works perfectly to do that.

She also decides it's best to simply stay well out of reach of that tornado of Gunmen bits that are quickly entering the blender. At least the pair are having fun.

With a grin, she stands up fully and briefly scans the sky to make sure no more are incoming, then looks for where that girl with the wrench got to in the midst of the combat.

She opens up communication with the various Gunmen pilots, commenting cheerfully. "That went well. Anyone seriously damaged and in need of assistance? Also, did anyone notice where that girl with the wrench got to?"

"That went well. Anyone seriously damaged and in need of assistance? Also, did anyone notice where that girl with the wrench got to?"

"If anyone needs help right now, it's the Beastmen." Connor picked his glasses, now sporting a crack along one on the lenses, from the floor of Justicar's cockpit and pushed them onto his nose. "Unless one of those two managed to break themselves with their whirlwind of death, that is," he vaguely indicated toward Seiichi and Anthony who were now celebrating loudly amongst themselves.

It's not that he expected them to lose, but to be able to win like that was... it was just so incredibly weird. He'd been struggling to fight Gunmen for a while and then these lot came along blowing them to pieces without even giving it a moment's thought. Hell, one had taken two Elites out in a single well-placed shot. Obviously he'd been going about this the wrong way.

Chris watched as clouds of black smoke and sand billowed into the night sky. As he got closer, he could gunmen being thrown into the air.

Well, damn. What's going on over there?

Grim, Chris' gunman, ran towards the obvious battlefield, and as they rounded the lip of the hill, Chris saw the end of the fight. Gunmen Tornadoes, Laser Cannons, and all sorts of mayhem were happening; and Chris missed it all. Man, that sucks. Chris recieved an A/V connection and opened it. "Hey guys, don't shoot at the gunmen coming over the hill behind you, I'm friendly." Grim then jogged down to the rest of the party, and stopped next to a slender gunmen, with what he guessed were flamethrowers on its arms. He then opened up communication with the gunman standing next to him and said, "Judging by the carnage, I missed a lot. Care to fill me in?"

With the sounds of battle raging all around her, Yumi frantically tore into the ruined Gunman. Years of practice guided her fingers and tools as she savaged the metal corpse, ripping out sparking chunks of machinery and gleaming wires. Luckily for the unarmed girl, the Beastman were too occupied to bother with her at the moment; their entire force was focusing on the humans that might actually pose a threat.

Yumi continued to work, ignoring the sounds of metal shearing and hotblooded shouts filling the valley. Eventually, she had accrued a small pile of miscellaneous bits and pieces: a few orbs that pulsed with gentle light, several feet of loose wire, a few switches and buttons, and the tip of one of the fallen mech's fingers. Producing a screwdriver, the woman viciously attacked the enormous fingertip, gutting it and leaving only the hollow shell. With no time for caution or safety, Yumi picked up the rest of her supplies and recklessly jammed it into the now empty casing, wincing as a few sparks burst from the mechanical mess. Still, nothing exploded, so her work continued unabated.

After a few moments of fiddling around with her improvised weapon, Yumi finally paused to examine the results of her labor. A small, rectangular device, roughly the size of the hand it was clutched in, the apparatus seemed to be working, if the steady azure glow emitting from its top was any indication of functionality. Satisfied with her work, Yumi sent her fingers dancing over the series of buttons that lined one of the device's sides, and flicked a switch set on its top. The steadily shining light suddenly began to pulse, a small beeping sound accompanying its blinking.

As the time between each beep began to exponentially shorten, Yumi finally stood up, now ready to fight her foes. She was almost disappointed to note that the Beastmen had all been vanquished, sighing as the last of the enemy Gunman was shredded by the "Whitestar Special."

While the other humans celebrated their victory, Yumi instead chose to eye the setting sun. By this point, the crimson orb had almost entirely disappeared; there was no way that any more Beastmen would be arriving, at least not tonight.

Beep, beep, beepbeep, beepbeep, beepbeepbeep, beeeeeeeeeee

Violently yanked from her brief reverie, Yumi frantically fumbled with the shrieking device, barely managing to flip its switch before the piercing cry reached its "explosive" conclusion. A sigh of relief escaped the woman's lips as she stowed the silenced apparatus; no one else was dying tonight.

"Judging by the carnage, I missed a lot. Care to fill me in?"

As the final Gunman made its way down the sandy slopes, Yumi eyed the fighters that had unknowingly ruined her plans. Well, it wasn't like they had intentionally sabotaged her; they were probably just trying to help. And they had certainly proven themselves capable warriors. Who knew, maybe they could help her out after all.

[hr]

A few moments later, as the moon began its daily ascent, a roaring fire lit the darkening night, a few spits of roasting meat sitting over its flames. With the scent of boiling fat filling her nose, Yumi waved to the other humans, beckoning them over; there was more than enough food for everyone, and the night was still young. Sleep could wait, for now. It was time to learn who her potential companions were.

Chris opened the mouth of his gunman, and jumped out. He accepted the girl's invitation to sit down. He plopped down next to the female, "Hello mam, my name's Chris," he said while extending his hand out.

When Chris had arrived to stand next to her Gunman in his own Grim, she had replied to his question with a cheery smile. "You missed explosives, destruction, a pretty sweet battle, and us lot more or less working individually due to not knowing each other. Well, except the boxing duo. They quickly hit it off."

When Yumi got a fire going with some food, Ayla wandered her Firestorm closer, but still on relative high ground. It then went down on one knee, before the face opens it's toothed mouth, and out hops the red haired slender attractive woman, landing neatly on the ground, before casually wandering over to join Yumi by the fire. She sticks a hand out to her to shake, smiling. "Hi! I'm Ayla. Sorry about the mess we made of the valley, but Beastmen don't tend to have a habit of waiting around so we can ask questions. Besides, much more entertaining to simply blast them."

She then sits on a convenient tool box, nearish the fire, and after confirming whether the food is to share, she helps herself to some, enjoying the taste. She's currently wearing something basically the same as (Representative picture in her description) Only in reds and oranges.

As each person eventually gets to the fire, she would give them a light greeting, and decides to wait until everyone has settled with food before getting into going round the fire of who's who.

With the fire started and the invitation extended, Connor could do little to refuse the offer. Besides, this would prove an excellent opportunity to learn about these no doubt interesting people.

He hopped out of Justicar and introduced himself with no fanfare or handshaking, instead going for a bow to each of them, and then sat down on the opposite end of the fire to the three already sitting. He shuffled a bit to be sitting on his cloak and then grabbed some of the food, quickly getting a 'thank you for the food' out before digging in. It had been far too long since he'd had a good meal.

With the Beastmen Gunmen dead, Layla allowed herself to relax. She cut off the A/V feeds and slipped out of her jacket to cool off in the confines of her Dark Wolf. After a few minutes of just standing there, she shrugged it back on and buttoned it, hiding the tattoo underneath. The woman without a Gunman had begun beckoning everyone over, and a few got out of their mechs. Layla checked her sensors, looked up to the sky, and said from her Gunman's mouth,"I-think-I'll-stay-in-here-thanks."

I'm not going out there, that damn sky isn't supposed to be there.

She flicked her switches, pressed her buttons, and switched her Gunman off of combat mode. The compartments in her arms became indistinguishable from the rest, the few remaining rockets she had disappeared, and the Spiral energy cannon on her back shrank into its own place.
