Hurray for suits and fedoras!
This is true,

we need to bring back the classy attire, and live in a time where long jackets do not equally Emo/Homicidal Maniac.
I can finally fulfill my lifelong dream of feeling dapper everyday and not be ashamed in my choice of facial hair or monocles. I really do wish today was more like the 20's to 40's, casual clothes could be like at home attire like pajamas or summer clothes and we wear suits and fedoras everywhere! If I am made President of these United States, I will not rest until there is a suit on every American man, a dress on every woman, and a fedora on every head. FEDORAS FOR ALL, GOVERNMENT APPOINTED FEDORAS FOR ALL!

1920's slang, 1920'a style, 1920's accents... Hell, let's just bring back all of the 1920's!

...Except the prohibition, and the racism, and the crappy quality of life/low tech.

I would really prefer not to have to refer to non-Caucasians in what is now considered to br extremely offensive terminology. Nothing wrong with inter-war Wodehousian banter, though. Except that it may make you sound like a hipster.

Man I love the twenties. Love slang too. I think everyone should use as much slang as possible, maybe confusing at first but I bet It'll ultimately create a better, richer and deeper language. Things like slang allows words to gather in meaning and be more than just their literal translation. Feelings and ideas could be better adressed.

Writing it a bit on the fly, but I really think there's some truth in this.

I find any slang that isn't job related is pointless.
That's called jargon, not slang.

And I would argue that slang can make communication more interesting. Just think about the difference between an "idiot" and a "douchebag". Or between a saying that something is "bad" and that it's "ass". It gives us access to a whole different shades of meaning without having to spell out our precise intentions every single time.

So long as I can refer to a fashionable individual as a "cool cat" I'm all for it.

Hell yes. I'd love to be able to wear my fedora in public without people asking me why.

[small]"Why am I wearing a hat?" Because I feel like it, you tiresome tossers.[/small]

I agree with this thread 100%. Bring on the suits, dresses, slang, music and classiness. It would be swell.
