Mottso heard the explosion below him, stumbling back. He growled and resumed looking through his scope. I need to take care of this... After a couple seconds, he caught a glimpse of an arrow flying by. He managed to retrace the shot, finding Alaena. "This is the one causing so much trouble?" He seemed frustrated, but tried to line up a shot "Well she won't be much longer..." [hr]

Dokumaru backed up the street, and ran back towards the barricade, resulting in another thunderous crash. "One more should do it..." he started backing up again, ready to smash the barricade once and for all. [hr]

Mog had been punching and kicking at the barricade for a while, and he had made considerable progress. He remained silent the entire time, but seemed to be hitting harder the longer he went at it. [hr]

Inshi had worked his way through the house, slicing up the gunmen in there. He reached the rooftop, and noticed it was abandoned. He looked down and saw the barricade wasn't going to last much longer. "Soon..." he murmured as he ran downstairs again.

Sammi watched the girl, obviously struggling with what she had done. She tried to think back to her first kill, on the deck of the Thrasher. A few rival pirates from a ship called the Flyer had gotten on board during a battle at sea and were running around the deck. Kane and Kyle were zipping around the deck, fighting them off pretty well, but then one of them got the drop on Ondrej. The bulky shiphand was down on his knees after taking a shot off of that helmet he liked to wear. It had rung his clock pretty good and he didn't see the lumbering brute behind him, ready to finish him with his sword. That's when Sammi grabbed one of the axes that were available on deck and took a swing, trying to help out one of the few shipmates that defended her before. She swung too good, and in similar fashion to most of her kills coming after that day, she got him right in the neck. The goon grasped at his open wound but he fell and bled out onto the deck.

After that battle Sammi sat up on the stern for a bit, thinking about not only the mess that she had left for Wendell to clean up, but what exactly she had done. That's when Captain Hartley came over and told her words that she had yet to forget. "It had to be done, Sammi. You made a move that saved one of your mates' lives. I'm proud of what you did, I'm sure it wasn't easy for you. I know this life isn't pretty at times, but it's what you have to do to survive out here. And I'm glad you're that kind of person who has what it takes to do it. I knew I made a good choice when I brought you aboard, and I know Ondrej is too now. You make a fine pirate." It was the first time Sammi had ever been complimented like that and she knew that Hartley was the kind of man she wanted to follow, and that she wanted to defend his mates just as she did today.

Sammi looked over at Marielle, seeing a girl in a similar spot to hers way back when, drafted into a battle she wasn't really ready for or sure she could handle. "Listen Baby Blue, this kind of life, these kind of battles, they are going to get really ugly at times. Much uglier than this. And you're going to do some things you never thought you could possibly do. But that's what you gotta do to survive sometimes. You can't rely on everyone to take care of it for you. You gotta be able to get your fingers dirty, and do those things that repulse you. That's part of growing up."

She smiled over at the young woman. "Besides, you got it a lot easier than I do, with that little shockwave thing of yours. I'm glad you're not giving up. I need another girl around here to show these bastards how much of an ass-kicking they're in for."

Grana arrived at the barricade, only for the perpetual sounds of the battering ram to cease. Grana cursed as he realized that whoever was on the other side of the barricade was simply gathering strength for one last push. "It really is too bad there aren't any cliffs here like on Jingo." Grana thought as he threw up a portal on the other side of the barricade. It was a simple affair, one merely meant to reject any object coming in and send it in the opposite direction, but it would work. "I suppose I can always hope someone breaks a leg under the battering ram and they can't lift it anymore." It was a long shot, but Alaena seemed to be making so many of them, Grana couldn't help but wish for one of his own.

He snickered, only then turning around to see a tall, dark-skinned man standing in the plaza. "How in the 9 hells did he get past the barricade?" Grana thought, glancing behind himself at the barricade. It was still intact. "Damn, and I can't move more than 10 meters away from the thing, either." Grana noticed that the man standing before him simply could not stop moving. It was as if he were a puppet being controlled by a man undergoing convulsions. "G'evening, Twitchy. I don't suppose you'd be willing to lay down your weapons and give up now, could I?" Grana asked as he slid his sword slightly out of the sheath, ready for a battou.

Yoje leaped his way over to the eastern barricade as quickly as he could without expending too much energy. He thought he might have spotted another one of Roger's crewmembers, but he wasnt the priority. Once he reached his destination, Yoje saw a spiky looking fishman attacking the barricade below him. A fishman, huh? Well, that explains his strength. At least I made it here in time. And he's alone, too. I've got to move fast though, and make this first attack count.

He inhaled deeply and jumped into the air. Moon Rocket! With two Moon Steps, he propelled himself towards the fishman as fast as he could. At the last second, he did a small flip, so he was now hurtling feet first towards the side of his opponents head. Yoje's foot connected solidly, knocking the fishman back.

Alaena continued to focus on the cannons on the ship; sending in more explosive arrows through the hatches. The ship was starting to get quite a few gaps in it's hull due to the explosions caused by the black powder inside being activated by one of the explosions. She wondered just how much more damage the ship could take as she fired another explosive arrow, watching as it set off another set of of explosions inside.

'Probably not much more,' she figured, turning around to check on how things were going for everyone else. The rest of Harligold's pirates could be taken out by the civilians of Lasklee, and from what she could tell Harligold and his officers were going to be dealt with by Peter's crew. 'I'll help out once I'm done with this ship,' she told herself after resting for a minute, nocking more arrows and sending them to the ship.

Dokumaru went careening to the side, ramming into the far left side of the barricade. Once he stopped, he walked back, holding his cheek where Yoje had struck him "What in the hell was that?!" He turned and faced Yoje, noticing his strange form "You! Was it you?" He didn't wait for a response, bull-charging at Yoje, lowering his head to try and hit him with his spines.[hr]

Mottso had managed to line up his shot at Alaena, trying to compensate for how he was bending the barrel of his gun "This is why I don't do close range..." as he did so, a falcon swooped down and started clawing at his head "GAH! Blasted bird! GET OFF!" he managed to swipe it away from him "Now I gotta reset the shot..."[hr]

Yedaj heard Grana call out to him. "Hmmm? What was that, boy?" He seemed amused, starting to circle him, heading to a nearby building. "You think you can go around giving me orders like that? Really?" He cracked his knuckles, his head jerking from left to right. "You're funny, you know that? Reeeeealy funny." He reached into his pockets, each step he took now looking like the was just kicking the air, and he started humming. "How about you try something?"

Higaldo reached another building, watching the events unfold. Mog seemed to be preparing for a big attack, but something seemed off. "There's something not right... And I suspect that pirate has something to do with i-..." his train of thought was cut off as he saw Yoje jump over, and could hear the results of him interfering with Dokumaru. "Dammit..." He turned and yelled from the top of the building "Yedaj! Mind this one! He has a devil fruit of some sort! He's messing with the space around him!" After that, he began jumping from the rooftops, trying to get to where Yoje and Dokumaru were.

Yedaj heard the warning, just shrugging his shoulders, pulling his hands out of his pockets, revealing he now had a pair of brass knuckles "So you got some special ability? That coule explain why you're so cocky... but trust me, kid, whatever it is, it ain't enough."[hr]

Inshi stood at the front of the barricade, confident that he had cleared the surrounding gunmen in this street so Mog could work unopposed. "Come on... it's almost down. Do something!" Mog turned to Inshi, trying to move him out of the way. He wound up a punch, but when he threw it, it went back towards him. He stopped it before it reach him, but he looked puzzled. Inshi stpped back up "Wait... I know this power..."

The loud shrieks of Fletch caught Alaena's attention, the bird managing to get out of the crow's nest and circle above it. Using Soru to make an escape, Alaena took cover behind a rise on a rooftop nearby. With a quick whistle Alaena called Fletch over to her new spot, carefully peeking out to look up at the crow's nest.

"Thanks for that. I guess whoever was sniping before is still in there," she said, peeking out once more before moving further along the cover to set up her own shot. "Stay here for now, I'd rather you not get shot down," she told the falcon, making sure he stayed put before launching a volley of arrows into the nest.

Grana smiled as Yedaj approached. "To be fair, it was more of a request than an order." While Grana was the epitome of zen on the outside, his mind was sweating bullets. "Damn. Now I have to worry about the stupid barrier while I'm fighting Twitchy! Man, what a pain!" Still, the annoying pounding had stopped, so maybe he had gotten lucky and the battering ram had left. "Yeah, right. And perhaps I'm a fishman. Still, I have to hold on until someone comes along. Sammi and the new girl are accounted for, I'm pretty sure I saw Yoje head that way as well, and Captain is stuck at camp, giving orders. That leaves Hal or Alaena. They better get here quick!" Grana saw some dolphin-type fishman yell out his secrets to Yedaj. He sighed. "Aw, spoilsport!" He called out to the fishman. Grana turned back to Yedaj. "Anyway, I would never order a pirate like a common Marine." Grana spat out the last word like it was poison.

" No, we pirates... We act. Marines might be men of words, but pirates... Are men of action!" Grana roared as he drew the smaller of the two blades, thinking it appropriate. It would help defend better against those long limbs and brass knuckles of Yedaj. "Alright, I was touching the wall at the time of the start. Twitchy looks to be about 3 meters away. I've still go distance." Still, Grana was worried. He only had six portals available to him now, and keeping a portal open would take its toll on him later in the fight. The concentration required to remind himself of distance wouldn't help his stamina, either. "Well, I asked for a handicap, and so I got it! Can't start complaining about it now!" Grana blanked his mind, thinking of nothing now save his distance and the pirate before him. Grana came in low, his sword coming in from his right, holding it across his body for maximum power. He planned to slash Yedaj right where it was most difficult to block: the hip. Grana started the motion, planning to cut a leg off right from the start.

Damn. Stuck with the fishermen. Crassi begrudgingly followed the pair down the alleyways, staying a couple feet behind them. The wall of (for lack of a better word) stuff slowly appeared. It was a couple stories high, enough to make her have to think about scaling it. Hopefully at least Dokumaru would take out the men shooting from the rooftops. "Geez... those guys on the roofs can shoot. They've taken down at least 10 guys right here." She nudged one of the corpses with her foot, trying to goad them into taking out the gunmen. "It must have taken some skill to hold this barricade. Too bad it's going down now."

Crassi scaled one of the buildings easily, eager to get away. She worked better without overconfident loudmouths talking shit. Foot, foot, hand, hand... She got a big boost from her tails, embedding it into the wall to catapult herself a couple more feet up. The woman who looked over to see what the *thunk thunk* on the side of the building was got a foot in her face as Crassi vaulted over. Ducking under the side she swept her tail across the roof, cutting their feet out from under them. She threw their screaming soon-to-be-corpses over to the next roof, hoping to rattle them. Because a mutilated corpse would rattle anybody.

Looking over the edge she saw Yedaj and Grana in the distance. A fair few others were in the center already, but they were focusing on the idiots banging against the walls. She could take the cheap shot, and wasn't above stabbing someone in the back. Slowly, she descended the building on the other side of the barricade, stalking from the shadows for an opening.

Yoje jumped over Dokumaru with ease, and hit him in the back of his legs with a Tempest Kick. Now he stood between Dokumaru and the barricade. If I dodge an attack now, he'll be clear to destroy the barricade. I'd better try to keep him on the defensive. He leaned back, using his tail for support, and began kicking the air rapidly. Tempest Kick Cannon!

Hal was thankful to hear that the cannons had stopped, but whether someone had stopped them or they were simply taking a break, he couldn't say. Just as Hal thought he could finally relax though, the sounds of cannon fire were quickly replaced with other loud noises from both the east and the west. Since the south seemed to be somewhat under control now, the others were going to check it out and Hal felt inclined to join them. Let's see... Sammi, Marielle, And Yoje went east. Grana went west. That means the east will be safer... But if they break through the west, no one will be safe...

"West it is, I guess." Hal said with a sigh before running to catch up to Grana. By the time he caught up, Grana already seemed to be in a fight with one of Harligolds men. Someone had gotten through, but the barricade was still intact. That meant someone was trying to break through while this guy had gotten over by some other means. "Hey, Grana! You take this guy, and I'll hop over the roof and deal with whoever's on the other side of the barricade alright?" Hal called out to Grana before Shaving into the closest building before his opponent could do anything.

From there, Hal ran up to the roof to scout out the barricade. There was a giant of a man who was presumably bringing down the barricade. And with him was.... Inishi Yarrakona. Hal had never imagined he would run into Inishi again and certainly not on Harligold's side. But seeing him here reminded Hal of all the shit he had gone through on this island. He may not be a fighter, he may be outnumbered, but he found he simply could not let this chance pass by. In his anger, Hal Shaved right past the big man and landed in front of Inishi. "INISHI!! I went through hell because of you! Now it's your turn!" Hal yelled as he unsheathed his sword and swung it at Inishi with all his might.

As Roger made his way around the to the north, he found himself wishing he had taken a route that would get him into the action more quickly. But he knew this was the right call. If the north was undefended or even lightly defended, he could get in there quickly and start causing some serious havoc. And it looks like I'll get a little bit of a warm up after all... He thought as some movement on a nearby rooftop caught his eye. A pair of gunmen popped into sight, took aim and fired. Roger was ready for them though and was able to read the path of the bullet. One whizzed past his head and the other Roger deflected with a gauntlet.

The gunmen gasped in shock and quickly began reloading, but Roger wasn't about to let that happen. He leapt forward with more speed than most would expect from a man of his size, and swung his anchor with all his might at the building the two were on top of. The anchor ripped through the buildings walls and supports like paper, causing parts of the roof to collapse. One gunman couldn't get to safety in time and fell off, his head striking the ground with a sickening crunch. The second was fortunate enough to make it to a stable part, but he had barely made it and was forced to hang off the edge of the destroyed rooftop. "Y-you MONSTER!!" The man screamed in anger and fear as he desperately tried to pull himself up onto the roof.

Roger picked his anchor back up and let it rest on his shoulder again as he slowly made his way over to the man. He grabbed the man by the leg and yanked him down, lifting him up so he he was dangling upside down in front of Roger's face. "Monster? That's no way to address the ruler of these seas." Roger said as he laughed and flung the man up into the air. As he came screaming back down towards the ground, Roger gripped his anchor in both hands and prepared to swing. "If you live through this, make sure to tell your leader that Roger Harligold is coming his way." He said as he swung, connecting with the man's chest and sending him towards the center of town.

Whoever was unfortunate enough to be around when he landed probably wouldn't have much of a will to fight after seeing that. Even more so if the man somehow lived to tell that tale and everyone knew Roger was headed their way. "Well, I've lingered here long enough. Back to business." Roger said, placing the anchor back on his shoulder before continuing on towards the north.

Peter heard a noise from behind, and before he could react, a body landed in the plaza a few feet in front of him "WHAT THE?" He tried to get up onto the roof, running up the stairs to see what could have caused that. He turned his attention to the north, and saw that somewhere in the northwest, one rooftop had been demolished "Oh no... nononononono..." he said, running back down, getting his gear ready "I am NOT letting all this effort go to waste now!" [hr]

Yedaj had lept up into the air, and extended his arm out, touching the bricks of the building near him. He clung to it, and the rest of his body swung towards the building, until he was sitting on it, crouched down on his knees, almost at a perfect 90 degree angle. He looked down at his leg and noticed Grana had cut his pants, with a nick along his leg. "Well I'll be damned. You have a good reach on ya, son. But I toooold you..." he stood up now, leering at him, starting to pace around. "It isn't good enough..." He took a running leap, jumping to the next building, approaching the barricade. [hr]

Inshi managed to pull out his spear, blocking Hal's blade. "Who in the blazes are you?" he growled, clearly enraged that someone tried to attack him. "Mog! Keep working on the barricade! This cretin needs to be taught a lesson." He tried to get Hal back so he could have a range advantage over him.

Mog eyed the barricade curiously. He started feeling around, perplexed as to why his attacks went back to him. He then touched another side and nothing happened. He started moving them closer to where he was striking before, trying to find a safe spot for him to keep attacking. [hr]

The volley of arrows were a lot closer to Mottso this time, but right when they struck, he fired another shot, leaving a big hole right next to Alaena. He stepped back, trying to get to an angle where the wood of the crow's nest would take most of the arrows, but had trouble lining up a shot.[hr]

Dokumaru underestimated the strength of Yoje's attack, and when he tried to just stand there and take it, it sent him stumbling back. He started blocking, seeming to be taking a lot less damage. "I will not let myself be stopped by some inferior being!" He started charging forward again, not as fast as he had been ramming before, but steadily making progress.

Higaldo was rushing on the other side of the barricade, more than willing to ignore the two who were standing in front of him. "These two will fall with the barricade... I just need to get close enough to jump over..."

Grana grinned as he saw Hal soar overhead. "Got it! Holler at me when you've beaten the battering ram crew!" Grana yelled over to Hal as he turned his attention back to Yedaj. He quickly ran back to the barrier, trying to beat Yedaj at his own game. "Why, thank you for the complement. But I'm telling you right now, I can't lose. There are far too many people counting on me for me to give it up!" Grana arrived at the barrier and flourished the blade-breaking sword. "Hal, I hope you sold me a good sword, because it's about to get one hell of a test run!" Grana began to time Yedaj's movements, making sure everything was perfect. "Alright, he has some kind of Devil's Fruit that makes him stick to things. Useful in the right hands; he can attack from all three dimensions now. Still, so can I." Grana had finished timing Yedaj and now knew everything from his stride to his speed while fighting against gravity. "Don't you know, Twitchy? You're fighting against a Magician!" Grana roared as he opened a portal right where Yedaj was moving to. Grana then began his swing, not even waiting for the object of desire to appear. Once Yedaj stepped in that portal, bringing his leg to Grana's location, he was going to have to hop for the rest of his life. And if Grana had his way, that wouldn't be very long, either.

Having his attack blocked snapped Hal back into reality. He had lost it and given up the element of surprise, the only advantage that would have allowed him to win this fight. Thankfully, the big guy didn't seem to care much, so all Hal had to worry about was Inishi. Well... I might be able to take him. I can't let him know that I screwed up if I want that to happen though. Hal thought as he jumped back and sheathed his sword to prepare for his next attack. "The names Hal. Hal Granada. I'm the merchant who's boat your boys wrecked and stole from." Hal said in what he hoped was a confident tone.

He would have to end it now if he wanted to have a chance. His style was to end the fight with a single blow before it began, a prolonged battle was not in his best interests. He shaved over to Inishi's left side. "And now, you're gonna pay me back with interest!" He spun around and unsheathed his sword again, swinging it upwards at Inishi in hopes of catching him off guard.

At last, Roger had made his way around to the north road. Either there were no gunmen along the way, or the rest had been too scared by his display earlier to come out and fight him. Contrary to the rest of the town, this side looked completely untouched with no damage and no corpses littered about the streets. "Well... That'll probably change pretty soon." Roger muttered to himself as he cautiously walked down the road, weary of any similar traps to the one that had claimed so many of his men to the south.

Marielle nodded, taking in all that Sammi had to say. The knowledge that she wasn't alone in this fight helped to calm her nerves by a considerable amount: her nausea had dulled down to a minor twinge in her stomach, but she dismissed it. This wasn't the time to be puking her guts out in the corner, like a drunk who ate something that didn't agree with the booze. She had to stand and fight, and she wasn't helping the defense of her home by hiding away from the violence.

"Thank you, Sammi. I'll try not to run away a second time," she said, determination evident in her voice as she turned back to the barricades. As she did so, though, she spotted someone she didn't recognise, rushing straight toward them, or maybe past them: he was most likely another of Harligold's men. The stranger was a large man, easily taller than Marielle or Sammi... and he was clearly a fishman judging by his appearance alone. The man appeared to be unarmed, and without backup; that was odd. Still, it made him a little easier to deal with if he was working solo.

Marielle raised her hands into position, ready to release her shockwaves. As soon as she judged the man to be within range she began to unleash them straight at him.

Yoje readied himself for a counterattack as the Fishman charged in at him. If I dodge again, he'll be free to destroy the barricade. So I need to stop his attack. He morphed into his human form, hoping that the transformation would break the fishman's concentration. Then, as Dokumaru got closer, Yoje crouched down, Shaved to Dokumaru's left side, and performed a sweep kick with all his might.

Yedaj froze midrun as Grana roared and swung his blade, taking a defensive stance. He was surprised that nothing had tried to hit him, but did see that Grana had seemed to have an attack ready. "Whooo, you scared me half to death, kid. Still, that sword swipe was a dead giveaway, kid." he resumed running forward after Grana had swung his blade. "You think you can lure me into a trap? Whatever it is, it didn't work." As soon as he finished that, he ran right into the hold, and fell right in front of him. "Huh. Pitfall. So THAT'S what it was. Need to mind that." He tried sweep at Grana's legs, quickly leaping back onto his feet. [hr]

Dokumaru tripped once Yoje had struck him, crashing into the barricade again, but with barely any force behind it. He turned back to Yoje, too enraged to take advantage of his current situation. "You think this is funny? You think you can make a fool of me?!" He started taking a deep breath, and as he did, the spines on his back and arms began to lengthen.

Higaldo noticed Marielle's powers. "Odd... but whatever it is, it will have to wait... Dolphin Leap!" He leaped over the pair, over the barricade, landing between Yoje and Dokumaru. Dokumaru seemed surprised "Higaldo? What are you doing here?" his voice had changed, to reflect that he was trying to keep in as much air as he could. "Don't let this one man distract you! Take down the barricade!" He called out, taking a stance. "You've cause us a lot of trouble. But I cannot allow you to continue this..."

Dokumaru took advantage of the time he was given to start backing up a slight distance to try and ram the barricade again. This time it wasn't as loud or impacting, but he backed up again to give it another hit.[hr]

Inshi was agitated with Hal "I don't know who you are. If I kept track of every lowlife my men dealt with, I'd never get anything done!" He jumped back from Hal's attack, but found himself against a wall. He called out to Harligold's men "Assist me! Take care of this maggot!" The pirates didn't seem to mind him, ignoring him as some tried to climb over the barricade. A couple did seem to start approaching Hal, but were distracted by Mog, who had now resumed bashing on the barricade, hitting it at multiple spots.

Sammi was satisfied with the answer she got from Marielle, and that would have to do anyway, as a large man...well half man anyway, came bounding towards the barricade. Marielle seemed to have him well guarded, set to turn him into the grilled catch of the day, but he kept charging for the barricade, slamming into it. The thuds were worrying.

"Hmmmmm, let's see if I can't slow this fishy down a little bit," she proposed. She kneeled down, close to the barricade. She put the axe in her right hand down and instead started extending the ropes from her fingers so that they snaked through the debris that consisted the barrier. If I can get these all through, next time he comes running, he's going to be caught in quite the net.

Grana sighed as Yedaj easily avoided his pitfall trap. "Aaaannnnnnnnddddd that's what I get for trying to be clever." Grana shook his head in disgust. "Alright, Peter, you can be the planner from now on. I'm content on being the attack dog on this adventure." Grana called out to Yedaj. "You know what, Twitchy? I've decided, against my better judgement, to fight you with everything I've got. I was trying to leave you alive, due to a rebuking I just got, but I've decided that it's no longer possible. So when you see the devil... tell him to make room." Grana grinned demonically as Yedaj came in with a peg sweep. Grana sheathed his wakizashi and prepared the katana. He let Yedaj sweep his legs out from under him, but disappeared into one of his portals, reappearing behind Yedaj. "Ohhhh, now it's getting interesting!" Grana planted his feet and performed a battou, drawing the sword as quickly as he could towards Yedaj's neck. Grana then created a portal about halfway down the blade, causing the top half of the blade to swing from the opposite side, creating a technique reminiscent of a guillotine. However, Grana failed to call his attack, instead preferring to divert all his energy into cutting this man's head off.

This is bad...Another huge fishman had entered the battle, and he was in Yoje's way. He'd have to go through the newcomer to stop Dokumaru's latest attack on the barricade, and that would likely be difficult. He frantically searched for a opening to attack, but didn't find any. Then he noticed the ropes wriggling through the barrier.
