*Reinforced Lamellar/Splint armor, because it's just as protective as many better kinds of armor for essentially only being glorified Leather armor, all while being lighter and easier to fight in, to boot.
*A Spartan shield, because if what Deadliest Warrior and 300 showed is correct, the best offense is truly a good defense.
*An Infantry Saber, heavy toward the tip for better cutting power.
*A backup dirk, because one always wants a backup weapon in case they become disarmed.
*Full knowledge of the ancient Grecian martial art Pankration, a brutal Wrestling style considered to be the first "western" all-encompassing martial arts style.
*Lastly, a few Grenado-style ceramic grenades, because if the Pirate vs. Knight episode of Deadliest Warrior is correct, those things are deadly enough to puncture Full Plate. Yes, those existed before the advent of modern (and even many Black Powder) guns. I checked.
...Perhaps I'm a bit of a min-maxer, but I think this setup would fare rather well.
