I have an 8" bowie knife and a 20" machete, both sharpened to a razor thin edge, just in case. I keep the bowie knife under my pillow, and the machete in between my matress and box spring. Both obviously in their sheath.

One of these days I'm gonna get a .45 pistol, but they are so expensive. I'm thinking maybe I should start with a 9mm and work my way up. At least I could get used shooting at the range before I make my step up to a bigger gun.
