Really? I thought the flamethrower, well, the American model used in 1944 at least, could shoot farther than that, by a little bit. Well, I guess 40 yards is pretty good anyway, given that it become difficult to see the user behind a wall of fire, thick black, oily smoke, and wildly refracting light, 40 yards is good enough. Plus, the screeching, wailing sound that flamethrowers make is left out inmost games, and that would be a scary thing to hear knowing that it can burn you if you're not careful.KissofKetchup said:Eeeeeh....I would say so in actuality. Being the guy with the flamethrower back when they were still used was very dangerous. One bullet could make you burst into flames so if the game incorperated this into the game in multiplayer, it would solve the balance issue that you say would exist. Plus the flamethrowers only have an range of 40 meters, compared to a pistol which usually have a range of 100 yardsFuturenerd said:And you will wait for a while, because unless you're using them against the Colossi, whoever makes the game they appear in is basically saying "F*ck balance"KissofKetchup said:Flamethrowers.
I'm still waiting for a game that can accurately and realistically depict a flamethrower in action
that was awesome!Treblaine said:Well then this cannot go unmentioned:tellmeimaninja said:Too few games allow me to beat enemies into submission with a fish.
Well there is more where that came from.peanut cracker said:that was awesome!Treblaine said:Well then this cannot go unmentioned:tellmeimaninja said:Too few games allow me to beat enemies into submission with a fish.
we totally need more of those in gaming
imagine CoD were you use a cod...
god that was awful...
You could play DEFCON?Neonbob said:Yup. Used the hell out of it. And got modded versions of it. But that is still only one game. I could probably count on one hand the number of games that have let me use nuclear weapons.No_Remainders said:Fat Man in Fallout.Neonbob said:A nuclear _____. I would have fits if there were more nuke weapons in games. No matter how impractical they may be.
EDIT:
Jedoro's Ulaks would also be acceptable.
There, you're sorted.
That should really change.
It's not supposed to be realistic. You reload with your psychic bolt-working powers!Mackheath said:Maybe because they are impossible to reload dual-wielding? Unless you are very skilled with your tongue.Enemy Of The State said:Dual-wield Bolt-Action Sniper Rifles.

Ahem.
OT: A sheep bomb.

Now THAT is a humiliating way to be killed (notice the horse whiney sound effect?)
This I suspect will remain a fan-mod only, and not like the first example ever become official.
Whatever, you know it'll appear in Modern Warfare 3.Mackheath said:You must have got some brain from those exams; whenever I stare at my butterfly knife it doesn't unfold itself. =/Enemy Of The State said:It's not supposed to be realistic. You reload with your psychic bolt-working powers!
Although I am very skilled with my tongue.
...I'll take your word for it, my man. XD
That is awesome, too bad i don't have a PS2.Saltyk said:In the PS2 game Musashi Samurai Legend his initial Great Sword is The Great Oar. And, yes, it is a giant oar.Lava381 said:An oar.
Don't know if someone has mentioned this, but you get a pickaxe for a weapon in Demon Souls and in Penumbra. (I'm currently playing Penumbra so it just popped into my mind.)Guthixflare7 said:Pickaxe, I would love to have a pickaxe as a weapon kind of like Sergei from Black Ops because I find that would be pretty cool.
