Webcomic idea

Well, for a while now I've been getting requests from people to start a webcomic series of some sort, but my main problem with that is that I don't feel like I would have enough material to create any sort of ongoing series. So what better place to find writers than the escapist? My pitch for the comic is this:

There is a super-villain called the "Vengeful Koala" and he is part of an organization of super-villains called "The league of very evil people who do naughty things". Although the end result is more of a "wannabe" super-villain team. The series would be a sort of satire on Villain cliches and would go into the lives of these wannabe super-villains and their constant failures.

I'm working on the rest of the characters, but here is a rough example of some of the main characters, "Vengeful Koala" and "Jaguarman"

Thank you for your delicious time. I will devour every second you have. Muahahahahaha.

Any help or criticisms would be appreciated.

EDIT: Just to let everyone know, the position of writer is not yet official, I'll take in as many ideas as I can. Don't be scared away from this thread simply because someone offered to write up a draft. Feel free to post any suggestions or comments that you feel the need to make. Once again, I appreciate the support.

Huh, sounds interesting. Not sure if I'd be any kind of good person to help write ideas for ya, I tend to do more serious things, like...apocalypse of a city because the good guys were being led around on a tiny rope by the bad guys to help their diabolical plans but *ahem*. Hey, whatever, you're looking for a writer, I could give it my best shot if ya need it.

Kind of cool though, I like the art style, cartoony, comical, yeah, could be a winner lol.

I like the art. Alot.

I'm sure its been thought of, but it can always expand into something more original.

Word of advise: Watch out for Rule 34.
What is Rule 34?
Rule 34: If it exists, there is porn of it, no exceptions. Originated on 4chan I do believe. And trust me, I think it's the truest rule I've heard, actually, very scary. Basically one of the "Rules of the Internet", type in Google for "Rules of the Internet", a couple variations, but 34 is always the same.

So out there somewhere there is Evil Koala super-villain porn? Interesting. And to the responses that say this kind of thing has been done before, I googled it up, and yes it has. But not very successfully. I have a feeling that the combined talent of some escapees would do this idea justice. And surprisingly, no matter how hard I looked I couldn't find one evil koala on the internet. Honest.

Don't forget rule 35. Edit: And judging by the content ideas, rule 46 may count too.

OT: This looks to be fun, I'd certainly like to see some preliminary panels drawn up :D

Oh and by the way, I slipped laxatives into those tasty tasty seconds. Enjoy.

That sounds really boring... And stupid. Because:

1. It would get old really fast.
2. It's probably been done already, and in all probability that web-comic is much better than the one you're making.
3. It's too easy to joke about Villain-clichés, anyone can do it. And your take on it seems kind of childish.
4. NO ONE would read it.

But don't listen to me. Do what you want with your life.

--Xvito, keeping it excellent.

Oh yes, I forgot about 35, thank you. If it doesn't exist yet, it will. *shudder* You cannot unsee it. Ugh. Sorry, thinking of a previous Rule 34 experience...

Edit: Oh damn it, not Rule 46. Augh!

Well I'll have to write up a sort of "webcomic pilot" But the idea is still petty rough. This thread was sort of made to recruit some writers or something. So if you know any good writers, let em know about this if ya can. :)

Ah yes, well my sense of humor tends to be a little more "family friendly" and so the vulgarity of the webcomic would most likely stay a ways away from the humor. Also, I wasn't sure about this idea in the first place, so that's why I'm starting the thread. If you have any idea how it could be improved, do tell.

A cast of completely generic and unnecessary super-villians would be funny. Like Plumber-Man, or the Human Lightbulb.

*looks down at myself* I could give it a shot. Nothing professional, mind you, but if you're curious on ideas I've done while RPing, I could link you to some threads of mine on another site, get an idea of how I write and whatnot. Totally cool either way.

Edit: Note to self: Do not use emoticons on this forum, it makes me look like an idiot.
Note to self received.

Don't worry about professionalism just yet. These are just some rough ideas I came up with since I've been wanting to do something with the Vengeful Koala for a while now. Anywho, If you need some info about the characters and how they relate to each-other, I can write up some character sheets.

Just know that if this project is by any means a hassle for you, you don't have to do it. And if the idea doesn't sit well after a few strips, then I have plenty more ideas to come.

The reason I picked a kind of "cliche" idea is just to play it safe at the beginning. The internet seems very hostile to new and exciting things, so I want to draw in a wider audience before actually getting into the actually good stuff.

That and Vengeful Koala has been my avatar for a while now and I wanted to include him as a character in something.

EDIT: Here is another cast shot, this time with Jaguarman fully created. I'm still thinking of putting some goggles or something on him though.

Hmmm... it's strange for the artist to be the one pitching ideas, but oh well.

I'm not really into that sort of art style, it needs more... you. Something that makes it stand out. I'll wait until I see a strip or two before saying if it's good or not.

Well I'm a writer as well, but lately have been a bit sort on ideas. Especially for comic strips. And I would like to know what you mean by more "me".

I mean that if someone shows me a panel from your webcomic, in which there are characters I've never seen, I can instantly tell "Oh! That's the Vengeful Koala guy! Yeah, look at that style. That is SO him!"

I'm a crappy explainer. It all makes sense in my head, though.

Ah I see what you mean. So you're implying my art style is not distinctive enough. Well it takes a while to adapt a very distinct style, but take a look at some of my avatars I created earlier in the avatar design thread and let me know what you think. Most people can usually tell whether it's me or not, but you make a good point.

Why is Vengeful Koala vengeful? What are the goals of this team of supervillains? Do the supervillains in said group drink tea or coffee? Where are they based, and how can you use the settings to your advantage in creating storylines? How does Vengeful Koala feel about real koalas?

These are important questions. Really. It looks cool, though. Good luck to you!
