I wonder if people actually like this things. I for one, despise them. I also think Critical Miss is one of the worst content "The Escapist" has to offer. Don`t get me wrong, i have nothing with the drawer/artist or how you may call it. I just find the overall idea lame and lacking.

The only webcomic I ever followed was a Dynasty Warriors one, and it was hilarious!

Other than that I can't really comment on webcomics in general.

Most webcomics are highly unoriginal self-serving piles of vomit, and the few ones that are actually good become stale and uninspired after a while.

Cyanide and Happiness is one of the few long term comics out there that consistently delivers.

Agreed, that's really the usual rule for webcomics, with the special caveat that most good webcomics will end up in stasis whenever life decides to bring of the spikiest toys it has for the author/artist.

I'm honestly wanting to get a webcomic together, but I really want to make sure it's worth a slight damn before subjecting the citizens of Int0rland to it. Suppose it's a good thing, really...

Furthermore, a good way to combat the stagnation problem would be to give the story a defintive ending. Or at least clearly defined different archs. Or not using the stale "Two gamers on a couch", "Person with a sarcastic housepet", "Completly random and poorly thought-out anthros" and "LOL controversial material!" routines, to name a few.

I have ~60 webcomics bookmarked. Schlock Mercenary, Sluggy Freelance, Irregular Webcomic and Girl Genius are a few of my favorites.

I know webcomics in general have a poor reputation, but as the famous quote goes, "90% of everything is crap". It's just that on the internet that 90% is especially visible. There are plenty of quality comics out there if you're willing to look for them.

...The Hell?! The spam-bots are getting even more elaborate!!

Everybody, hide your belongings and get to the basement, I'll bring the twelve gauges and cheetos!

OT: Ok, so webcomics arn't your thing. So what? Now's your chance to find something that IS your thing! Like, I don't know, golfing! Or learning intricate recipes!

Something!

If people hated webcomics then they wouldn't be that many or no longer existed now wouldn't it?
I for one love webcomics and I follow several of them including Critical Miss.

I read SMBC, Cyanide and Happiness and Sluggy Freelance. I used to read CAD before I realise it was utter, utter shite.

Besides the usual Penny Arcade and others, I like VG Cats and Super Effective a lot, too bad Scot updates them once in a blue moon.
