While browsing the internet over the last few days, I've come across some horrifying news stories (the woman cutting off her husbands penis, a boy murdering his parents with a hammer). I couldn't help but read them and they left me in a terrible, sad, scared sort of mood. I've been trying to take my mind off of them, but I realized I don't have many go-to places on the internet to make myself feel better.
This might not be a website, but just as a pick-me-up and a reminder that there is some good in this world, Mr. Frodo, I found a short item in todays newspaper that made me smile. I put it up on my wall. It reads, roughly translated:
"The staff at The Red Cross in Jyderyp, Denmark, were surprised this morning when a cointainer of donation clothes was emptied. Along with a million DAK, (almost 200 000 dollars) about 130 000 euro, they found an anonymous letter: "I've been saving for 40 years to donate to the Red Cross". "I've never experienced anything like this before", commented Anders Ladekarl, the secretary general of the danish Red Cross."
