It is impossible to lick your elbow

75% of people who read this will try to lick their elbow
That's actually not true, I've witnessed a man licking his own elbow several times (always the same guy, though), and he does it quite easily... if you ignore the fact that he dislocates his shoulder before doing it. xP

"American Pie" by Don McLean was about a plane crash that killed Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J. P. "The Big Bopper" Richardson
No one knows what American Pie is about. It includes references which could be to the plane crash, or about the Hell's Angels at Altamont (I think that's the one). There are also apparent John Lennon references, Bob Dylan and Elvis comparisons, uggesting that if it is a song about big musical events, then the most important point of the song is 'The day the music died.' It could be that the song is about various days when music could be said to have 'died'. (Don McLean refuses to say what this song is about)

A solid titanium ball bounces higher than a rubber ball of the same size.
Glass also bounces higher than rubber on a hard, flat, smooth surface as long as it doesn't break.

As for the thread, Kellog's Corn Flakes and Graham Crackers were both originally marketed as cures for chronic masturbation.
I want my money back, Kellog's! jk

In a certain state, it is illegal to shoot a washing machine when under 300 feet (or meters) from a building...

Buzz Aldren made sure not to close the lunar lander door when going out after Armstrong because the first lunar lander had no outside door handle.

The world 'ale' comes from the Old Norse 'øl'. And 'thursday', pretty similar to 'THORsday', no? The Old Norse word for this day was Þorsdagr (Þ being the rune for 'th', and the origin of 'ye olde', where 'ye' is a development of 'Þe' on shop signs).

My brain is like a sponge for useless information.

Betta fish actually don't like living in small places (they're the fish you see in cups at the mall).

Over 2500 left handed people a year are killed from using products made for right handed people

A 'jiffy' is an actual unit of time for 1/100th of a second

EDIT: Apparently Mythbusters was able to fold a paper 10 or 11 times, so my "Weird-Ass Fact" is incorrect!

Alcohol doesn't kill brain cells
Of course it does; it dehydrates the cells. Drinking alcohol doesn't however.

Octopi dont have tentacles they have 8 cephalopod arms, tentacles dont have suction cups.

Unless it is looking at its arms an octopus has no idea where they are or what they are doing.

EDIT: Squid brains are ring shaped with a hole in the middle which its throat passes through, so if a squid swallows something even slightly larger than its throat it can kill itself by crushing its own brain.
The correct plural of octopus is `Octopodes'.

The longest word in the English language is 1909 letters long and it refers to a distinct part of DNA.
Actually, that may be Methionylthreonylthreonylglutaminylarginyl...isoleucine, a 189,819 letter word for the Chemical name of titin, the largest known protein.
Taken from Wikipedia? :p (I looked it up after I read the original post too)

Technically, it's an IUPAC name. But it's not generally accepted as an English word. It's not in a dictionary and it really only exists for chemists and biologists to describe its structure. I once sat through a genomics lecture where the lecturer thought it would be 'funny' to show that it takes 12 (or so) slides just to post its entire name. We weren't amused.

Left-handed people are better at sports that require good spatial judgment and fast reaction, compared to right-handed individuals.

Then why is almost every legendary soccer player right footed?

There are more cells in your body that aren't yours than the ones that are.
Since they're in your body (i.e. part of you), doesn't that make them yours? If not, then whose are they?

Congratulations Luke, You've watched Qi. Go and give yourself a medal. Also, if we MUST be correct about Grammar, Octopuses is also a correct plural form of Octopus.
