Dunno if there's already a similar thread as I'm fairly new here. But what are your gaming rituals? Either before/during/after playing. My strangest one is that before I can play a new game I have to completely tidy my room. And i'm not a tidy person so it takes ages.

I have to adjust my keyboard just right, prop my feet up in a certain way and get a bottle water. Not much of a ritual I know, but on Friday's we do burn heretics.

I adjust the mouse and keyboard. Lay back and relax. The occasional orange juice is there.

Nope. I don't recall a thread like this.... Infact there WAS a thread like this but that was long ago.

I have two which are probably both very common.
1. Is that I can only ever play games with my gaming hat and reading glasses on.
2. When I order a game or am waiting for one to come out, I can't think about anything else but when the game actually comes, I relax, eat, tidy up until I feel like playing the game.

Before going into what I know is either the finale moments, or just a really amazing-looking boss fight, I must always pause the game, get a lollypop, and suck on it as I play.

The furniture in my livingroom is oddly configured around the TV, so I suppose my ritual would be retrieving the blue exerise ball to sit on since I can maneuver it anywhere namely in front of the TV. It helps further animate my successes since when I strike my hero pose I can also bounce.

Don't know if this counts, but I absolutely refuse to kill Bowser in Mario 3 using anything other than a hammer suit.

1. I always put on my glasses (This is the only thing I use my glasses for)
2. I crack my knuckles. I have to, just to loosen up.

Pretty much the same as OP, only its regardless of gaming. If Im gunna be sat here doing whatever for the next few hours I want to do it in a clean space.
So do a quick clean up of the desk/floor and make my bed before I log in.

I don't really have "weird" but when I play games I have to have my glasses on and I usually have my itunes on shuffle.

Oh, I also wear my Children of Bodom Hate Crew fingerless gloves when I'm kicking ass in online multiplayer (usually Modern Warfare or Reach)

It's not really a ritual but I always all add the title of a game I've beaten to a list when I've done it.

Also, when ever I play 'Indiana Jones and the infernal machine' I always have windows media player in the background. Actually that's less a ritual more a nesesity, it helps the game run for some odd reason!

The weirdest thing I guess is that I have to sit on the floor, I have a lovely big comfy office chair but no it has to be the floor, when I do anything really not just gaming. I literally spend the majority of my time sitting on the floor, If it didn't kill my back I would sleep down here :3.

I also usually have a big mug of tea to sip as I play, tea just enhances my gaming experience immensely.

I never realized up until now, but now that you mention it I find it hard to really get into without my beanbag being behind my back as I sit on my bed to play.

Don't really have any rituals I do before I play, but when I buy a new game I need to smell the manual, nothing smells better then a brand new game manual.
