Call it OCD, but I need to straighten up everything in front of my monitor (slightly messy desk).
If I am approaching the end of a game I will close my door and put the sound up, sometimes turn the light off and watch the ending cinematics in comfort.

........ Or I don't do anything and I just play...

Depends :p

I wouldn't call it weird, but before I start gaming, I ensure that my wife is watching a movie or one of her TV shows. Otherwise, I cannot game in peace.

I inhale the sacred herbs, crank my Trittons, shut off all the lights, and trance out...usually forgetting about time until it's 3 or 4 am..oh and there's always a 12 pack of beer or soda next to me in case the sacred herbs cause dryness of the throat...oh and newports...must have newports..100's only need apply.

[small]i'm done...i swear[/small]

When I play a shooter, every five minutes I have to press the fire button. If i go a while without shootiung. Not cause I like to, cause for some paranoid reason my mind convinces me that the enemy is all around, waiting for me to step into the right spot and be ambushed wihtout ammunition.

that, and before I play, I have to rotate the analog sticks:
1) Clockwise
2) Counter-Clockwise
3) In a plus from up-down-right-left
4) In a plus from down-up-left-right

So yeah.... I'm kinda OCD about those. Though I've been working on the shooter one, cause thats been screwing me over in later matches when I ran out of ammo from checking it.

Well whenever I play Warhammer 40k, I keep a pair of dice for rolling leadership (the only roll in the game where getting lower is better) seperate from the other dice so they won't tell the other dice to roll low, or learn to roll high (Very fantastical thoughts but it works for some reason). Also my army's general has his own custom dice that I only roll for him.

1. crack the knuckles
2. attempt and fail to do the same for my neck
3. rup forehead/facepalm out of the perceived stupidity of number 2
edit: 4. often try to input the contra code

Whenever I open a game and, in addition to the cellophane, it has that tape over the top? The tape that usually has the title of the game and that iridescent strip?

I have to remove that tape before I play. All of it.

Also, reading the manual before I at least *try* to play the game without it feels like cheating, somehow. The manual is for looking at when I can't figure something out, not as a prelude.

It's not really a ritual but I always all add the title of a game I've beaten to a list when I've done it.
I might steal this. Dunno why. I just might. :p

I pretty much HAVE to be in some sort of euphoric state, turn the lights off, and adjust my pillows. If I really want to immerse myself, I tend to tuck my hands underneath my blankets to hide my controller from sight. During games, it's almost like I forget I'm using a controller at all.
That seems like an AWESOME way to play video games. I wish i had an Console so i could try that. PC gaming is NOT comfortable.
I feel the same. All i want is a big screen, a beanbag and a controller but NO, the PC gods won't let me be comfortable while filling New Vegas with huge amounts of additional content. Guess it's time to buy a new chair.

Can't have both I guess.

OT: Crack knuckles and whenever I'm not using a headset, put on grandpa's old Trilby. Pretty basic stuff.

Whenever I have a couple friends over on Fridays for some gaming there's always a Family-sized bag of Doritoes, pizza and drinks.
