So I have a bunch of examples for this thread (much better ones really) but I figured I'd choose the one that gave me the idea for this topic.

I was driving home from work the other day when a very odd example of bad driving caught my attention. I'd have been angry if I wasn't so confused by it.

There was a guy waiting to turn left onto the street from a parking lot, but instead of being in the parking lot he's was pulled out all the way into the right lane of the road as if he had to stop mid way through a left turn (he didn't though I saw him pull out like that purposely).

I was driving in the left lane then slowed down to stop at the the light just ahead of the parking lot opening, which blocked him from making the left turn.

So basically here I am, driving normally stopped at a red light, and this guy is perpendicularly in the right lane looking at me confused wondering why I was stopping front of him.

Eventually another car had to stop "behind" him at the light. Blocking them both until I could go, and he could (hopefully) turn left if the traffic was clear when the light turned green.

Fortunately the light was fast so it went off without anything really going wrong or holding anyone up.

I have no idea what he was doing though. He wasn't really trying to get out fast and misjudged it his ability to turn, and he wasn't angry about not making it, he was just kind of... obliviously shit at driving. I was befuddled.

What are some weird things you've seen people do, or just flat out weird people you've seen

It can be strangers, classmates, family, friends, whoever.

The other night me and some mates were hanging out outside as Tesco, as young people tend to do. It was on a street full of pubs, so naturally there were lots of drunk people around the area. The Tesco was closed. Some smart individual walked past and smack right into the door. He seemed really confused, lol.

but the thing is, THEY beeped at me!

Today at work we had a tramp hanging around outside scrounging around. It's not uncommon for people to buy them food from our place, which one pleasant lady did. She bought him a coffee and sandwich and he got angry because he wanted a coffee from Costa instead.

Apparently dirty homeless scroats can be picky too.

Hey, that's free market competition right there, give people a choice and they'll make one ;)
Why doesn't the homeless guy hang out round Costa instead? Seems like a better plan.

It's not really that weird, but on my way to work most mornings, I often see this one particular car/truck driving in the opposite direction, it's not a car I could name (I'm not a car guy) looks like a 2 seat truck with a flatbed rear, kinda like a pickup truck.

Only, it's too small, like a mini pickup scaled to 70%. It's Noddy's pickup truck.

More importantly, one day it's red, the next day its blue. :D

Over time, I've looked at the driver, and it's the same guy, middle aged, shaven headed and stern looking, he's driving both blue and red. Now does he have 2 vehicles, one red, one blue? Or does he re-paint his truck each night?

Seems weird to me.

I'll give him two options: He can fuck off or go fuck himself :D

I work in a retail park and there's a line of Subway, Greggs (my shop) and Costa (next door). He wanted Costa coffee but ours is nearly £2 cheaper than there's so why would you take him there? I told him beggars can't be choosers but he was foreign and didn't understand me ;^;

That truck sounds adorable though, I can just imagine a middle aged man driving it wearing Noddy's hat a smile from ear to ear :D Maybe he's got a pink weekend one too.

Well it would seem that guy was trying to force his right-of-way. Perhaps he'd been waiting a while and got impatient. Still not a reason to obstruct traffic though, lol.

In regard to driving, I was once on a four-lane road with a turn lane in the middle, and somebody straight up STOPPED in the left lane in order to make a left turn. Now sometimes vehicles will obstruct the turn lane, but the turn lane was perfectly clear. This person had just stopped in the middle of the lane with their left blinker on, waiting for the traffic in the other two lanes to clear so they could turn. I promptly honked my horn when I realized what was going on, and they quickly buzzed into the turn lane to wait.

As far as other things, I've seen lots of homeless people do interesting things. There was once a lady outside my apartment who was convinced the exterior of the libary downtown was used in the film Ghostbusters, due to what she described as "picture magic." This is Missouri so I'm fairly certain that wasn't the case, but she seemed sure of it and I let her keep on believing it.

Funny this thread would come up today, I saw somebody start a random sales pitch to a total stranger asking him if he could buy/swap his shirt right yesterday afternoon. It was really bizarre.

I also swear homeless people stop giving any fucks at all the moment they become homeless for a certain period of time. I suppose they ain't got much to lose and you know what they say about people with nothing to lose and pretty much everything and anything to gain.

That reminds me--those stupid SUVs that have a little tiny "truck bed" instead of a third row of seats. Why? What are you going to haul in that that you couldn't have hauled any other way? A card table? Have yourself a nice little poker night? Please. I can haul more in the back of my Nissan Sentra if I fold my back seats down than you can fit in those stupid scoopy wagons. AND it will all be covered under a roof.

I've seen folks who do dumb things, maybe can be considered weird, while driving... like making a left turn from the right-most lane... absolutely batshit crazy and stupid at the same time. I don't mean switching lanes either, I mean crossing two lanes completely to make a turn instead of switching lanes first then making the turn. Its as if these people are unaware that if you miss a turn or are unable to switch lanes in time you can always make a u-turn down the road a bit.
Or where I grew up we have one highway that goes from north to south and is the only way in or out of town as there are no back roads/side roads/alternate routes. I mean its a chain of islands connected by US-1/Overseas Highway. Anyway the weird part is in my town/island of Key Largo the road is divided by a median with two lanes going north and two going south, with signs marking the direction (one-way, wrong way, divided highway) in absolute plain view every hundred feet or so and yet folks still end up going the wrong way, consistently. Obviously these folks aren't necessarily local, and some may be from left-side driving countries (which is forgivable) but a good portion of them aren't foreign. They should know better.
Other weird things (to me) is the inordinate number of folks who come down there and don't do any damn research about where they're vacationing. Like the fact we don't have true beaches in the Florida Keys (despite what the brochures claim). The resort "beaches" are trucked in, artificial constructs. There are no waves to bring sand in naturally as we have barrier reefs that prevent the occurrence. The lack of waves too prevents surfing (although there are spots where waves do reach shore, its small and not good surfing anyway) yet folks still bring surfboards down and give you dumbass looks when you tell them "we have no beaches and no surf."
Key West is different but not by much, and is so over-commercialized (a tourist trap) that most of us who don't live there barely consider it part of the Keys proper.
We also get dumbass questions like "How far is it to the Keys?" as if the giant signs saying "Welcome to the Florida Keys" don't exist, or "How far apart are mile-markers". I must digress a bit and explain the locals use mile-markers as reference points because landmarks in the Keys don't really help much, most of the land looks the same so we use mile-markers instead.
People are weird, people on vacation I've learned are loud, dumb, assholes who care very little for where they visit. The experience I have had with these folks has made me feel that if I ever travel somewhere out of my element for vacation, the least I can do is learn about the place before I ever set foot there. Just as a courtesy and out of respect for the people who live and work there.

People Are Idiots #2751 - On a Train:

on my reserved seat when this lady came to sit next to me. The moment the train got rolling she turned around to ask me about my destination. "Oh great, smallest smalltalk" I thought and told her. Turned out, this wasn't smalltalk. This was for her to find out where the middle of our common trip is in order to tell me how long I am allowed to use the armrest (until Osnabrück). "Yeaaah, whatever", I thought and forgot about it.

The second we left the station in Osnabrück, "Bonk", her elbow against mine. "Plonk", her arm glued to the armrest. For. the. fucking. rest. of. the. whole. trip. Not once did she let go of it. Not while rummaging through her purse, not while turning the pages of her newspaper. Not. once.

The couldhaves and shouldhaves are almost haunting me. Like, fart right into her face when leaving the seat.

Well, a lot of homeless people are homeless due to mental illness.

When my brother and i went to see The Avengers we stopped for lunch at a Burger King. Just as we were leaving, an old homeless man muttering to himself walked in, dropped trou and took a piss in the middle of the fast food joint. Just.....everywhere.

It shouldn't have been funny, but it was. Good thing it was after we were done eating.

I worked as a bouncer in a strip club for a few years. In charge of the "champagne room" security.

Of course, had to clean up the empty bottles and all that. One night, I found a half-empty beer bottle with some sord of grime on the mouth of it. Shouldn't have took a sniff at it to figure out what the hell it was, 'cause I can still remember the smell of mixed beer-feces aftger all these years.

Another guy used to come in every weekend with an glow in the dark alien necklace and just sit on a table, clapping his hands in reapeated patterns over and over.

Last night I did this job, I was at a dance club and near closing time, and a bunch of girls wouldn't leave because one of them had her purse stolen. Sure enough, when I did a round in the men's bathroom, I found a dud furiously m*sturbating INTO stolen purse in a toilet stall.

If the light was red, why did you feel the need to stop in front of him instead of simply letting him go?

Weird people? You mean me? Oh, besides me, OK then.

A group of honest to god hippies walked into the produce department where I worked and immediately began to gorge themselves on whatever they could out of the bulk bins with most of it ending up on the floor. They did this for a few minutes before all stopping at the same time, like some hivemind.

All three of them, two men and one women, then went into the woman's washroom. When I asked the manager what they were doing he told me that the really hairy one with dreads was doing the girl in an open stall while the second guy was sorta just rubbing himself against them with all of his clothes on.

It did not take more than a couple of braincells to realise when you saw them that these people went to mars and did not come back, AKA, tripping balls.

perhaps he wanted (or was considering) to turn left at the lights and he was wondering how you could be so inconsiderate.
it is generally polite to hang back and let a person into the lane if you are going to be stopping anyway since it will only put you back one car space (one of my pet peeves)

EDIT: rereading it, it appears you may be the one in the wrong here and the only mistake he made was hesitating to get into the lane he wanted before you blocked him. always two sides to a story ;)

I think he was drunk. Very drunk. It happened again a week later with the same guy but I didn't see it.
