I have just recently gotten over an irrational fear of Altas' and maps.

There isn't a name because it's not common enough for it to have one.

But we called it Cartophobia (it makes sense)

However, it was me projecting my imitimacy issues and insecurities on a physical object to deal with it better.

Or so says my Doctor says.

Ever since being hit in the face with a metal bat as a child, I have had an almost crippling fear of baseball.

I have Meleagrisphobia. It's a fear of Turkeys. I get teased about this all the time. I got chased and attacked by a HUGE male turkey at a farm when I was 3, it was bigger and taller than me and I have been petrified ever since. I cant even eat turkey.

Numerophobia is the only thing I can think of.

I have this odd fear of the number 5.

I can't have anything to do with 5. I hated being 5 feet tall throughout my early teen years (thank fuck I'm 6'1 now), I hate the hour 5, I hate the month of May (5th month) and I definitely can't have anything on me relating to 5.
Then you'd hate me - I'm 5'5" tall, my birthday's in May, and I'm the oldest of 5 siblings. One of whom is about to turn 5.
I don't mind it when it's about other people, I just can't have it round me. I can't be 5 feet, I can't be born in May, I can't be one of 5 siblings.

It doesn't bother me if you do or anyone else is, but I just can't have it happen to me.

But it would be like a revenge, wouldn't it ? Like saying, "see turkey, in the end, I preveil ! Who's on the top of the food chain ?".
I mean, I wish I was allowed to eat clowns.

Coulrophobia, fear of clowns. I've had it since I was a four-year-old hiding underneath a table from the restaurant's clown host/resident child terrorizer.

The reason it has not yet been posted is the fact that it is a bit unsuitable to the topic, as fear of clowns is quite common nowadays, perchance due to such works as IT.

I have pretty intense Acrophobia. I went to Switzerland on holiday one time and when i was up the mountain, it got so bad my legs were shaking and i didn't have much control over my body, to the point where i collapsed several times, which i found deeply humiliating. Heights just make me feel sick and give me many thoughts of death or somehow falling endlessly to my death. I can't even look over the side of the second or third floors of a mall without feeling sick.

I have a slight phobia of insects of all kinds (primarily flying ones). I have an anxiety disorder that makes socialising difficult, but that affects me largely when i'm with new people i don't know. Not a phobia but thought i'd throw it in there anyway.

Incidentally i'm wondering how it will be to play Bioshock: Infinite, as it's in the clouds. Watching the trailer alone was enough to make me feel sick, i wonder how it'll be through the actual game. The masochist in me wants to play it anyway though - the very environment will be the most terrifying thing for me. Bring it on!

Anatidaephobia, the fear that somewhere in the world, a duck is watching you.

No jokes, and if I get ninja'd, I'm gonna kill someone.

WTFNINJADBYOP

Oosh, I got ninja'd AND ninja'd at the same time. Do I win?

When I reloaded the page, it turned out I was wrong and it had been posted. I've respectfully edited my post to correct this.

You're right in that a fear of clowns is quite common, and I apologize if my post offended you in some way. I was just trying to contribute to the discussion.

I am scared of cotton wool. I hate it, I can't touch it. It is weird, when a nurse sticks a 2 inch spike in my vein to take my blood, i'm fine. But when she tries to put cotton wool on it, I run a mile. I am not sure it has a name...

Oh, I can assure you I was not offended in any way. I merely write in this pompous tone in an attempt at sounding cultured.

Not exactly phobias, but mild to great discomfort with a lot of things, like spiders, insects, heigts, large masses of people when i'm among them.

Diachephobia. The fear of crapping your pants at any time because you ate the Cheerios that are on recall because they are giving people uncontrollable diarea... This was about 4 weeks ago.
