That I was born without emotions. Fact is, I try not to let anything "rattle" me, or get me angry/sad/whatever. I try to stay calm and focused so I can deal with anything that happens around me in a simple, efficient manner.

Problem is, like the assumption, this rubs a few people the wrong way about my personality, specifically my mother, who is an emotional wreck and thinks I don't love her.

Doesn't help that I often play this up for laughs with a deadpan "I feel nothing" my friends coined up.
i do very much the same thing: when im outside i constantly have an angry wrinkle between my brows.
When it comes to showing emotion: i CAN do it, but never do, other than laughing and smiling.
And i've got problems with showing direct affection like "I like you": it makes me too vulnerable.

OT: alot of people assume that i'm angry. And that im a bit under average intelligence, 'cause of my bodytype.

I started out with a Yugi deck. No one at my school actually played by the rules though and it was two years later when I went to tournaments that actually took skill to win. Now... oh jeeze you make me want to bring my deck to college and see just how much a two year old deck will get creamed nowadays.
Someone in 8th grade try to show me yu-gi-oh and explain how complicated it was i laughed and the next day i brought in a few Magic the gathering Decks he just stood there with a confused look on his face

found out a little brother of a buddy of mine picked it up he wiped the floor with me except my cleric deck and my burn deck both of wich have things not aloud in extended tournaments. It seem all of the card games are makeing you buy the new set just to have a chance.

OT: people thought i was gay and im not
Some guys on my floor were having fun with some of the now illegal combos in Magic a week ago. IT looks like a fun game, my sister and her fiance play it. Magic can't be that hard to pick up, just deeper than yugioh and pokemon(combined).
But yeah, I realized that cards didn't have enough priority years ago in Yugioh and they always were slow to use and gave the opponent a turn to completely screw everything over for you. Today I bet someone could easily draw nine cards a turn, empty my entire deck and remove it from play, let alone take all my lifepoints in one turn five different ways, empty my hand and make me skip my next draw phase... And those were all possible when I was still playing. The only card i"ve seen used before the chaos stuff came out was giant trunade, most likely because all the cards that are worth anything got banned(which I might of been okay with, if they didn't make equally broken cards in the very next set they release and then wait a few months before just banning those)

Edit: Here's another assumption about me: I'm thinking all the time.

I'm half-Asian, but they're all apparently the same when it comes to what kind. So, racist pricks.

Gays like me because of my longer hair. People are occasionally thinking I'm gay because of my long hair.

The biggest nuisance is that everyone thinks I smoke cigarettes or marijuana. I've never even tried them. The biggest problem is that I wear black all the time and play lead guitar in a band.

I've moved house between England and Scotland a few times in my life and somehow people think i sound Australian. When i get myself a tan over summer, I'm told i look Spanish. When i open my shirt and show my necklaces, people assume i surf.

Not complaining since they're pretty cool comments, but i've never been nor done any of it. =)

There was an occassion where some random chick took a picture of me on the Subway though. I was blind for, like, 5 minutes. I still haven't a clue what that was about.
*Shrug* She thought you were hot? And was into the whole photo-ing random people thing?

I suppose?

Anyway OT: That I'm gay. I don't especially know why people have ever come to this conclusion.

people assume that because I am athiest, that Im a prick who thinks that I am better than other people.
thats getting a little annoying.
especially from the people Im getting it from, who are hardcore christians who tell me that they are always right and I am always wrong just because god isnt my thing.

also, people seem to think that I leik mudkipz, when, in fact, I like torchic better.
and Im sick of you people assuming that.

I've had a fair share of people interpret my social anxiety as retardation or autism (it is neither)

Once someone said to me,"You smoke, right?" I said,"No." He said,"Oh, you look like someone who would."

I didn't quite know what to say.

That I'm a satanist
That I'm a stoner
That I'm gay (Yes, another one, I'm half tempted to make a thread for everyone who's been mistaken for gay)
That I carry a knife
That I'm a racist
That I'm into bondage
That I was 25 (I was 17 at the time)
That I listen to heavy metal (Heavy metal and power metal are COMPLETELY different)
That I curl my hair
That I'm a gay, satanic stoner who vandalises lockers
That I'm a rapist (Apparently I have a rapist voice(?))
That I'd make a terrible rapist because my hair would let them see me coming
That I own a top hat (It's a cowboy hat)
That I play guitar
That I'm anorexic
That my slender frame makes me harmless in a fight (I'm harmless in most circumstances, but those EXTREMELY rare occasions where I do lash out in violence, I do so in utter rage that nearly saw me tear someone's ear off one and put my friend in AE another time. Last time I lashed, I managed to regain control after almost a split second, so it was assumed my first salvo was all I was capable of. I had no desire to correct them.)

When i tell people i live about 10 miles from the Welsh border they still think i'm Welsh. I think they've still yet to realise that i have no trace of the Welsh accent and a burning hatred for them.
I feel your pain, only I live about 2 miles from the border, so that kind of attitude annoys me even more. I'm English, born and bred dammit!

People think that I'm much younger than I am. My whole family gets that though, so I like to joke that we're part Dunedain...lol.. Also, for some reason, people tend to think that I'm stupid because I'm shy and kind of socially backward when in reality I'm actually very intelligent.

I once registered on a forum, and the next day I found a message from someone who said that they were not Italian. Upon further inquiry, it turned out that the guy assumed I WAS Italian, and that everybody always thought he was too which resulted in a lot of (to him) incomprehensible PMs. So this was a pretty weird situation for the both of us.
