So I guess destroying entire armies with nothing but a feather duster in Dynasty Warriors is out of the question?

Postal 2, seriously look this one up, some of the things you can do and the missions they give are just.....weird/ludicrous.

There was this one game on the GameCube where you controlled a rolling ball with some sort of weird controller, and you used it to destroy armies in like a pinball sort of level. But for the life of me, can not remember the tittle of the game.
Also Chibi-Robo.

El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron is pretty damn weird. It's meant to be a "loose" interpretation of the Book of Enoch, which as i understand it is a hebrew text about a mortal man called Enoch who got sent to Heaven before his time because he was so virtuous. Then one day five fallen angels descend to Earth to try and build their "own" heaven. They succeed in doing so and start to attract lots and lots of human worshippers who, in worshipping these fallen angels as false idols, have forgotten God. Enoch volunteers himself to be sent down to Earth to find and send back these fallen angels before God kills them all, including the humans living in this False Paradise. He is joined by Lucifel, who i can only assume is God's "right hand go-to guy", as he must report on everything Enoch does. It also takes him a hundred years to find this city. He also receives help from the "Freemen", who are apparantly humans living in the city who see the fallen angels as False Idols and reject them.

Honestly, as if the story wasn't trippy enough, the artstyle is so.... woah. Seriously. I've had times where i'm running along and i couldn't make sense of what was happening and why it was happening. In fact, i got that feeling pretty much the whole way through the game. It's not because it was made by Japanese developers; i honestly think trying to translate any religion into game format would make some for some really weird trippy shit if you're following texts like the Book of Enoch. Imagine having the Qu'ran, Torah, Bible or any other religious text taken at completely face value and presented in gaming media in an interactive format.

The weirdest game I can remember playing is The Void [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZ-FvuzPrgk]. You're apparently a dead person trapped in some kind of nightmarish limbo, where colour is your lifeforce, weapon and only means of communication with the world around. And the "people" who live there are either ethereal females or deformed giants, who all want you to do their bidding.

Fuckin' mousetrap! I mean who seriously builds such an over-complicated device such as that, just to catch mice?!

As for actual videogames, do 4d mazes count? I think they count. A "simple" 3x3 4d maze can take half an hour easily.

Is it any good? I've seen it on steam a couple of times and i'd love to play it, i really enjoy weird titles like that, but since i've never really so much as a professional review i never ended up touching it. Anything you could share on it would be grand.

Does it have to be a videogame? Because when I was at high school the Neds use to play a game called knuckles where they fired pennies at each others knuckles and if you reacted to the pain in any way the other person was allowed to punch your knuckles.
Just fuckin stupid.

Killer 7 is quite balls to the wall; style, gameplay and story wise. Though it is so awesome x3
A suda51 classic I have to say.

But if you want so good ol' fashion mind buggery then I would suggest Eternal Darkness. The sanity meter is some work of genius... that and its a really fun game to play. Especially if your a fan of the evil dead movies :3

I'm playing through Arkham City at the moment and, as a massive lover/collector of the comic books, the cartoons and the (Nolan) films, I gotta say the game makes the Batman universe seem incredibly trippy and fucked up, more so than Arkham Asylum did. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this game to death but they've really given the city and the characters a more... trippy feel than the modern comics have. Even Morrison's run on the comic with Professor Pyg wasn't as weird as this game.
Also, Alice: Madness Returns.

Here's two positive reviews by the people from Rock, Paper, Shotgun: 1 [http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/the-void-review], 2 [http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2009/09/29/wot-i-think-the-void/].
Here's a negative review from Adventure Gamers: 1 [http://www.adventuregamers.com/article/id,1089].

Personally, I'd be willing to recommend it for the surreal visuals and the creepy atmosphere alone. You should be warned, though, that it's a rather difficult game. I died three times in what's supposed to be the tutorial section before I figured out what I was doing wrong.
