Also, PaRappa The Rapper was a pretty normal game gameplay-wise but it had a right odd plot: you play a dog who raps against an onion, a cow, a chicken and a frog to pass karate, learn to drive, bake a cake and sell some stuff, respectively.

EDIT: could probably chalk up Katamari Damacy and Gitaroo Man for the 'normal-game, bizarre circumstances' thing too.

Bollocks! Psychonauts was both of those things and better!

Albeit not in the same horribly terrifying way, but it was definitely both colorful and tacky (on purpose mind you). Don't think so? Go play the bullfighting level again. Seriously.

My weirdest would probably have to be Killer 7 though.

Have you tried it when you're both drunk and high? For drunken fun though, Singstar on my mate's PS3 is pretty hilarious.

Weirdest game for me is probably Drakengard (not played it, but seen the FMV's and so on, especially the ending), or that Ski Free. It's bloody creepy for an apparently innocent looking skiing game...
