I have a nerve disorder called "Fibromyalgia". I was having a weird dream that involved disney, my boyfriend and something about the x-men when mid-dream I collapsed and couldn't walk or move. My whole body felt nothing but pain, the next thing I knew I woke up in a panic only for it to get worse. The pain was FAR worse while I was awake then asleep. I wound up crying for like 10 minutes, pain still un-subsided (in fact worse because I got stressed out.) I got up and went into the kitchen to make chicken salad so I could have it tomorrow for lunch. It was both weird and horrible.

Rolled out of bed and whacked my temple off the nightstand. There was blood.

There was also the one time where I had a dream that I was drowning, and as I made one last desperate attempt to breath, I threw my head back to realize that I was sleeping face-down and essentially smothering myself in my own pillow.

Beaten with rebar, not the cute and soft kind of rebar, the kind they used for building construction. Why? Armed robbery, there are some things that you can only experience in South Africa and this is definitley one of them.
Why did they wake you? Were they that desperate to get past the combination lock?
They wanted to take my housemate and I to the otherside of the house and put us in the garage so they went and woke us up in our rooms, bear in mind that this happened at around 3am. I must admit, beside the initial shock it only got terrifying when we saw the revolver the one guy had.

My uncle once went to his grandparents house and in the room he would be sleeping a pregnant cat also slept. Come next morning, he awakens to find the cat decided that his back would make an excellent maternity ward.

As far as the wierdest way I have woken up, probably being hit with a dog to the face.

I got an alarm clock like this as a present. The only morning I used this doomsday device I nearly suffered from a case of sudden death when it rang.

A large poster of Ezio falling off the wall and onto my head at 4am. It was the thick, plastic-y kind of poster too, a lot heavier and stiffer than regular paper.

Damn you blu-tack...
Oh man that happened to me once! Except I was studying for finals and it was a movie poster. I was so annoyed.

OT: Hmm. One time my mom threw water at my face. Like a whole cup, quicklike so it shocked me awake. I'm a light sleeper (if I haven't been sleeping 4 hours a day).

Other than that? One time I was being smothered. A friend thought it'd be funny to lay on top of me and whisper what I assume was sweet nothings into my ear.
I was pretty confused and annoyed when I woke up.

That would be my mom waking me up by telling me my pet cat of ten years was lying dead on the doorstep.

My friend's cat was licking up my nose. o-o
And sorry for the double post, but...
That's a bloody great way to wake up.

Back in the day, when my cat had kittens, I would regularly be woken up by tiny, cuddly balls of fur licking my ear.

Sigh. Now I miss having her in my bed.

I woke up to strange noises and stifled laughter to find my room had been completely filled with fog with a fog machine still going with no way for me to unplug it and the door barricaded somehow on the other side(my door had no locks). When I forced the door open I got lucky and caught a glimpse of thumb tacks that had been placed into the carpet.

And then there was one time I felt someone get into my bed and try to spoon with me.

Not sure if this one fits but I woke up normal and when I went to get out of my bed I stepped on someone who had been sleeping under my bed. I didn't know the guy except that he was a friend of my brother.

I had a nightmare once that made me feel like I broke both my arms... I woke up fine, but my mind created actual pain! I know this happens in a rare few cases, but dam it sucked!

Waking up to the feeling of being grabbed by the shoulders and urgently shaken when I was the only person at home was a rather odd experience.

Oh, and being woken up by the sound of lighting striking just outside my window fucking sucked too. Additionally so because it was five in the fucking morning. It's always nice to start the day by being jolted awake by a deafening thunderclap and almost falling out of bed.

Edit: Actually, come to think of it, I remember one that was much worse than either of the other two:

Waking up with terrible stomach cramps, somehow managing to stumble into the bathroom and throw up, only to collapse on the floor, screaming and sobbing in pain for some half an hour. I must've completely forced that one out of my memory. Man, that sucked...

AHHHH. YOU TOTALLY JUST REMINDED ME. One time we were traveling back home from mexico via driving. We stayed in a hotel room some random night. I don't know when, but I got some kind of stomach flu. I woke up in the middle of the night with that feeling of: IMGOINGTOSHITRIIIIIGHTNOW. And when I got to the bathroom, uuugh. It was horrible. I threw up into the shower right next to the toilet over and over, and had diahria and my body was shaking so hard that it hurt.
I repressed it until I read that story of yours.

Also, another time I had a hoooooooooorrible nightmare. God, it made me sick to my stomach. Why didn't I remember these two? They're soooo much worse than the other stuff I remembered. By like a million.

I was having a fucking horrible nightmare where I was drowning in a swimming pool while my dad was watching and trying to break a window to get to me. I could'nt move and when I woke up, I was still trying desperately to move. I flew out of my bed and accidentally flung my favourite keyboard across the room, showering me with keys. It didn't work anymore and I was gutted.

When I was in college in Phoenix (and wasn't aware of how big / common the sewer roaches out there are) I was woken up by my roommate's face about 6 inches away from my face with an enraged look on his face.

He said one word to me: "Roaches"

Instantly awake, and not at all happy.

after a nigh of drinking with some friends on a campsite one of them owned I woke up in a tree.

To this day, I cant remember how the hell I got up that tree, but I guess that someone must have bet me to climb it? Anyhow waking up hungover and realizing your kinda slumped over a branch, will fall if you make one wrong move and oh shi-

THUMP
Yeah, I got a major assist from gravity in getting back OUT the tree.

Now they are NOT the man eaters people think they are however they are ugly bastards and having that staring at me when it woke me up scared the shit out of me.
Could you not have put that pic in a spoiler box or something. I scrolled down quickly and it made me jump. I and many others hate spiders, even pictures of them creep me out.

On topic. Weirdest way I can think of is waking up froma dream about crabs(big ones swith long legs) and immediately finding myself panicing about them being on me. I only realised after I'd gone back to sleep and woken up again how strange it was to think there mightbe giant crabs in my bed(no dirty jokes please).
