"Welp, that gives me one reason to come back immediately. I gotta scrub my car out."
"Well...i guess it's guaranteed to be something we'll remember to do next time." Monica said, with a look of mixed nausea and relief that she wouldn't be the one doing the cleaning. Still, that didn't help with the fact that she had to get into it in its current form, blood stains and all. She wondered if how that would look, her being driven up in a rusting jalopy with blood staining the inside...well, she guessed that she'd have to avoid drawing attention to herself even before she got into the schook then.
Opening ther door on her side, the wall of copper stench didn't hit her as hard as Deegan, but it was still prominent enough for her to take immediate notice of. Looking through the car to Deeg, Monica had a thought and asked, "Hey Deeg, can we keep the windows rolled down? I don't think it will carry a good impression if i got to school (can't believe i have to freaking say that during summer) if i go in with clothes reeking of blood."
"Oh, yeah." He replied, his engine sputtering to life. "I don't think I'll be there long enough for anyone to notice the smell." He looked back at the girl after buckling himself in. "C'mon. I don't wanna get in trouble if you end up late." He quipped with a smile.
Uh, that's not exactly what I meant...eh, screw it., Monica thought to herself, figuring it was too much of a hassle to explain it again. With that thought in mind, she hopped into the passenger seat and followed Deeg in the act of putting on a seatbelt. "Alright, let's go. Onwards to that special hell that is Summer School...by the way, what do you think Granny's going to have you doing when you get back?"
"Something chore-related, most likely. Something to be swept up, or some dishes to be washed." He assumed, starting down the street. He chuckled a little as he gave brief regard to Monica's comment.
"I'm surprised you even know about summer school! You don't really seem like the delinquent type." He smirked.
"You don't need to be a delinquent to go to summer school. Being inattentive can work too, especially when it's used as a threat to make you focus on your failing grades instead of your boyfriend, well ex-boyfriend. Still, it will be the first time i've actually had to go." Monica said, nonchalantly, starting to accept that fact.
Deegan chuckled again. "If anything, it'll be the first year I don't have summer classes! Heh...eh...algebra's a *****. And biology...social studies...physical education..." He chuckled again, and let out a contrasting sigh.
Monica chuckled abit too at that. Somehow, it made her feel a little better, knowing that someone else had also gone through this. Still, she doubted that Deeg had the same experience that she was going to go through.
"Yeah, Algebra especi-hey wait, how did you fail P.E.? Social studies i can get, biology too, but P.E.?
"Uhhhh-oh hey! Check that out...we're here!" It was hard to determine the specifics on how they got there, maybe Deegan was going just a bit too fast, or perhaps the school was closer than anticipated, but the ol' clunker indeed pulled up to the location.
The Sylvester J. Superior high school was never easy on the eyes, especially during the last few decades. The tasteful graffiti arts of various gang fueled acts lined the three stories of the school's outer walls. Along with busted out windows, a litter covered campus, and beyond unruly kids. Quite a few of them looked to be attending, which would make one wonder if anyone passes their classes the previous semester. It was hard to determine if anyone of the students could even be considered "kids".
"Ah...I don't miss this place." Deegan said with a false smile. "Welp, have a good day!" He quickly added.
"You have no idea how much i envy you right now." she muttered to Deegan, staring at her school again. It was still as "pleasant" as she remembered. Then again, it wasn't hard to remember since it had only been, what, a week or two since she was last here? Still, whatever reservations she had with this place, she had a job from Granny, so it was probably a good idea to see that through. Reluctantly, Monica opened the door and got out, giving a small wave to Deeg while she did so.
"Alright. Well, see ya. Hope you have a better day than i'm going to."
Closing the door, she turned towards the school again, sighed once it came into her view, and walked forward. Hopefully this would just be a one time thing.
