If I could reach the town firstly, I would probably travel the wasteland looking for any good loot that I can sell back to the town. I mean, the only real skills I have are a good knowledge on firearms despite never being near a real one, the basics of techniques for sniping from reading a book written by a British sniper & a Cert II in both hospitality and IT that I haven't had to use yet. The way I see it, the best I can do is loot the surrounding countryside, assist the town in gathering supplies and making sure that nothing dangerous comes within a good two kilometers of the town.

Well, I work at a Library, so unless someone can invent a doomsday device that somehow runs on Stephen King Novels, I'll be fairly useless.
However, I might be able to use my knowledge of literature to sound really, really smart, and then worm my way into a cushy position as an advisor to whoever comes out on top of the inevitable power struggle between all the ambicious would-be world leaders in our community (You know who you are)
But if that doesn't work, I could always just get a bunch of friends together and colonize an abandoned vault.

I don't have any specialization (that would be useful) but since I've had schooling and like reading I'll probably work in our R&D department/ "Old World" archives to keep technology alive.

well im 15 and probably wouldnt be much use because im practically the very definition of "nerd/geek" so id have to go with being the local bullet monkey/meat bag/human shield against raiders.
Lol "people caught crouching will be shot on sight"

I've got BA in Business admin, basic firearm and survival training but my best skill has to be playing cards (I'm great at bluffing and recognizing tells) so likely a card player or conman(my morality seems to take a downturn after the last bomb drops).

mentats!? I don't need no stinkin' mentats!

i'm good with computers (although mine is so bad u couldn't tell) and metal working, i've been in martial arts my whole life and one of my favourite books is The ART of WAR by Sun-tzu also i'm not bad with a rifle and i know how to farm a bit (family is mostly farmers and soldiers) so i'll do whatever involves those things... probably not much i'm sure. i don't know if i'd stay in the town or not, all depends and the laws and location.

You know what? I've had an idea. Once I'm done building I might take a little trip to a place called mariposa with a group of people and bring back the fev virus in some containers. I'd become a supermutant(and not a dumb one since I'm a purestrain human) and for 100 caps you could be one too. The additional muscle from supermutant guards and extra strong labourers would be handy and it could be an option for these people forced to be manwhores.

Oh and I am not responsible if you end up like Harold or the master or a centaur

STEP 1: Go to New York

STEP 2: Travel the wastes to find groups of people who are willing to make an underground settlement. Then we could hopefully be safe from everything (apart from some feral ghouls).

STEP 3: I would expand the underground city until all sewers belong to me. it would be one of the safest places in the wastes and would be somewhat expensive to live there.

STEP 4: Create businesses for things like guns and food. I would eliminate any competition (they would look like accidents of course).

STEP 5: Slowly take over above ground area (I'm pretty damn rich about now). I would kill raiders, slavers (any bad people, even though I'm a little dodgy).

STEP 6: Get others to travel around America to spread the word of my New York while stirring up trouble so other places don't seem so safe.

STEP 7: Have a huge population living in my city and be very powerful.

STEP 8: Live happily ever after.

THE END

or just be a bartender in the town lol
this except i'd start a cult in ontario with strong members and have them do what i need (scavaging, repairs, protection ect.) i'd also be taking over subways, sewers and small towns and wiping out undesirables (raiders, slavers, feral-ghouls/violent mutant) as the cult grows grow eventually and at my strongest (owning all of canada) i ally myself with justice4L so we can team up and take over the world instead of trying to take over each others territories (and hopefully not try to assassinate eachother) i also have minor skills with lockpicking guns martial arts cooking and building so i'm not useless
We shall be unstoppable!!!! :D

So nobody else would spend their time collecting teddy bears and then fill Jerichos house up with them when he goes to the bar.

Because I would totally do that.

Probably work for someone who has more initiative to set up their own business as long as it doesn't involve me taking part in gang wars or fighting deathclaws.

Well I am a historian and I enjoy scavenging now (you find a bit of treasure in trash) so I guess I will become one of the iconic scavengers we all know and love from the Fallout Universe.

Which probably means I will be killed by one of thousands of angry drug addicted raiders...

Yay!

I dunno. I can hunt, fish, spent a lot of time portaging so light weight camping is easy for me. surviving the wilderness wouldn't be too bad. I guess I would go where I was needed. don't get me wrong though, I have no problems shooting things first and asking questions later. I'm a pretty good judge of character and know how to talk as well so... maybe that's why those games always appealed to me. if your whole existence is survival I think I'd makes a pretty good run at it. then eventually get shot in the back, or the front but someone would kill me. they'd want my sweet golden gecko pelts.

Shit I have no skills I can use in fallout land... Find someone to teach me to shoot, steal a gun and some ammo and seek out a career as a hunter; hopefully just nightstalkers, geckos and lower level stuff...At least until I make enough money to buy a Anti-Material rifle...Then I crouch walk then climb up onto a rocky ledge and begin the process of killing every last deathclaw in the wasteland

I'm a damn good shot with a rifle.

Other than that, third year Film Production Undergerad. So that's a bit useless in post-apocalyptia.
