I hope these help.

EDIT: Also try http://download.chip.eu/en/Malwarebytes_-Anti-Malware_3662215.html
Thank you much, seeing as nothing else seems to work! Anyways, how do I do a boot time with avast!? I am not sure how to run it. Press F8 at the start and find it somewhere there?

EDIT: Oh also heads up guys, in case you get this, download google chrome or some small web brower, seeing as the virus has no effect on them what-so-ever, other than it being a little slower than usual. For downloading it just to see what it was, it sure came in as a life saver!

Ahhhh well, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware found around 8 trojans early, 4 DNSchangers, and 4 Trojan.Agents which I still have no idea what exactly they are.

Unfortunately however, even after restarting my computer, IE and firefox continue to not work, which does not sound good for me.

Perfect! It seems that the virus only stays on your computer as of May 1, 2009. I restored to a day before and it works perfectly!

Interesting...did you run another scan to see if it was still on your computer? It might be a time bomb virus...

I actually thought that you were using "avast!" as an interjection before I read the whole post.

Its things like this that make me feel a titch better about my hard drive crashing regularly.
Still, is Chrome effected? Xitel's turned me towards it, and its pretty good for me.

Oh, assumptions.
The delicious part is where you find out he lives in Canada.

Anyway, OP, I hope some of the suggestions in this thread work. Viruses are awful stuff.
Same thing. :p

No viruses left on comp, nope chrome runs fine (except a little slower than usual, as everything on your comp runs slower) well, everything seems to be alright! Thanks for your help guys!

Get rid of the virus? get rid of windows first!
no man im just joking, i think the best means to get rid of this virus (considering there was already damage done to ur computer) will be to transfer your important files in .GHO format if u have Norton Ghost.
(what is norton ghost and how to download it http://www.downloadatoz.com/file-extensions/gho-file-extension.html scroll down a bit :p)
then just format C, and remember to have windows CD serial near you, so u won't get left without an OS, i forgot to look for that once and was stuck without a computer for a few days until i found it thrown somewhere...

Good Luck and Have Pun

This whole thread makes me concerned. Sorry to burst your bubble, but the virus isn't gone. System restore doesn't remove viruses, and should only be used in most extreme cases, just to save your data before a reload. About all you have done is delay the inevitable. Your best bet, now the virus is dormant again is to run anti-virus and anti-spyware in safe mode, till they find nothing. Then run it again in normal mode. Also backup your data, you will likely be reloading Windows very soon. Good luck, fighting nasty viruses was part of my job when I worked for Dell.
Hehe. I run norton. Above all, it may cost money, it may have lots of bloatware... But I have been safe for 4 years running, I have picked up a few trojans, but they were instantly blammed to hell by norton.

You're not alone, there. I honestly don't see what the huge issue is...
