Wow, overreaction much? I dont follow rugby but he seems like a decent guy and a solid player.

Congrats to the All Blacks anyway, Its about time the country best known for Rugby, won a Rugby world Cup. Yes I know we won the first one but that was a while ago
He intentionally kneed a guy in the face in the first 15min knocking the guy out leaving him benched for the rest of his world cup final. what a nice guy
Could I get the name of the player who he kneed and the game in which it happened?
If im going to argue with you I may as well see it for myself
I dont know what the guys name was but it was in the grand final that just got played
It was Morgan Parra. Seriously, go watch the replay. Parra was on the ground after tackling Ma'a Nonu, Dusautoir was over Nonu contesting the ball, McCaw came in to clear out Dusautoir. Parra lifted his head as McCaw was arriving and McCaw's knee hit him as he cleaned out the French no7.

If you think that was intentional you clearly have no idea about rugby.

it was a great match.. i think the france sub at the end bringing on the debutant was just stupid.. and as irony goes he was the one that made the gamechanging mistake at the end *slaps forehead*

Well odne New Zealand, what with your terrifying body-slap dance :p
I've always liked the Hakka, but i think the French missed a trick. They could also have done a dance native to there country, like the can-can.

Yeah, that's just not nice guys, there are also French people on these forums.
Naaa, that's ok.

French and English are hating each others since so long, this is more a cultural thing than real hatered for Rugby fans (and Australians are just English too, they got the queen on their money after all ).

I just watched it a few more times and i still fail to believe that he accidentally came into the ruck with swinging clenched fist and a knee that both manage to catch Parra right in the face. It's not as if this kind of thing is unheard of from richie either.

Thanks, I've never heard it put like 'body-slap dance' before, lol

We're all pretty proud of the Haka. A lot of people think it means 'lol you're gonna die', but it's closer to 'this is our challenge, respect us by not going easy on us and we'll show you the same respect.'
I always thought it was trying to intimidate the other team...
Eh, the more you know!
Anyway, i don't really follow the Rugby... or any sport...
I'm English so we tend to lose quite a lot...
It's for the best really.

I was backing the French to win,but they deserved to lose in the end.
I've always found Kiwi rugby teams both League and Union tend to tire at the back end of the second half,so the Frogs should have been able to get over.

Guess your boys wanted it more.Congrats.

but here in lil' ol' New Zealand, for the last 7 weeks, like it or not; it has dominated our lives...
Honestly, I haven't even noticed it was there beyond the massive increase of irritating tourists.

That's pretty cool that they won.. I guess... not sure I can really be proud of some sweaty guys I don't know beating some other sweaty guys I don't know in a game I really don't care about but grats to them none the less

I wanted France to win, if only to utterly crush all the NZ supporters who've been giving Cooper shit throughout the Cup. Height of bad sportsmanship. I especially enjoyed the moment when Piri Weepu kicked it out on the full off the kick off, something which the NZ supporters gave Cooper endless grief for last week.

Anyway, I'd have to agree with bloopblerp about Richie McCaw. I've been playing rugby for years, and I can honestly say that almost had to have been done on purpose. I don't see why some find it so hard to believe - this is Richie McCaw we're talking about.

Also, credit to France. They were hardly the second best team in the Cup, but they really got their shit together towards the end.

We'll have to agree to disagree then, as this still looks accidental to me, and I certainly can't see a swinging clenched fist there.

Just so everyone knows what we are talking about, I'll put this here and people can make up their own mind.

New Zealand had a very tense game.

I'm still gutted that Wales and New Zealand couldn't play each other... Damn that one tackle killed our dreams. :(

Was kinda hoping France would win purely for the fact that since it's inception the RWC has been dominated by the Tri-Nations teams.Of the 7 world cups played to date New Zealand,South Africa and Australia have won 6 between them so it would have been nice to see a country that has never won it before winning it.Plus it would have ended England's record as the only northern hemisphere to win the competition;)

Overall no complaints though.New Zealand were the best team throughout the entire tournament and deserved the win

I was upset that France got to the final, they shouldn't have even beaten England (more England playing poorly than France playing well. Really, really poorly) and the semis? That just fucked me right off, Wales were the better team. I know it's if only if only but the sending off was absolutely insane, their captain, a fantastic player. Gone for the whole match over something relatively minor and made without consultation, fucking wrong.
No it wasn't.When you lift a player like that so his legs are above his head it is your responsibility to guide the player safely to the ground.Warburton lifted Clerc and then dropped him which is a red card offence under the IRB rules. If Clerc had landed on his head rather than his back he could have been seriously injured. It was a dangerous tackle and rugby players need to learn that they cannot tackle other players like that anymore.I think the ref deserves credit for making a decision that a lot of other officials would have bottled

1.It was the Rugby world cup not soccer
2.New Zealand are one of the top teams in the world(the top team now that they're world champions). They are never underdogs when it comes to rugby

I thought they were best known for putting a stick into a kiwi fruit and calling it an animal. oh and pretending they invented half of australias favorite foods :p

but trolling aside, as a proud Aussie im glad the All Blacks got across the line, What we have between our small island nations is light hearted and friendly competition. Noone and i mean Noone wants to put up with 4 years of the french having a genuine claim to being the best at anything.

You coulda cut the tension here with a knife. Even the most one-eyed All Blacks supporter knew that the French played the better game and deserved to win the final. I suppose the difference was that the All Blacks deserved to win the World Cup itself. An incredibly gutsy performance from both sides.

Who would have thought it - Stephen Donald gets the match-winning points. The man everyone harassed and criticised after past woeful performances, the man who wasn't even in the team until less than two weeks ago... I mean the whole flyhalf saga plays out like some movie. First golden boy Dan Carter gets a freak injury during training meaning young Colin Slade has to step into a legend's boots. But then Slade is injured during a game leading a young cancer survivor Aaron Cruden to perform. But then after winning the confidence of fans Cruden is seriously injured in the final after 30 minutes of play, the old hand, the man rejected by everyone, the man playing his last game for his country Stephen Donald steps up and scores the match-winning points... absolutely incredible.

That was a very tense game. I had a walk down the main street down here in Dunedin down the game and it was absolute madness. The cars on the street were blaring their horns and hundreds of pumped fans were cheering, yelling and hugging each other. This was about an hour after we won.

France did very well and showed everybody their history of getting better as the tournament progresses is just as true as ever. Both teams played pretty well and there weren't many dodgy goings-on that didn't get pinged by the ref. If France won they would have deserved it.

But so stoked the AB's won. They've been dominating the sport year after year for such a long time, and it's great that they managed to pull through the entire tournament without choking a match for once.
Even though I'm a player, and a massive fan, of football. I secretly wish that I'd gotten into rugby when I was younger. Also, the Haka kicks some serious ass.

Fried Kiwi, no? Or maybe you are referring to their alias "All Blacks" as a literal interpretation of their skin color?
