Well EA MIGHT have been a little shadier than previously known.(emphasis on might is necessary)

This guy is just 100% full of shit. If somebody died because EA screwed up somewhere, this would've been in the news.

Because obviously the news outlets are uncorrupt and unbiased, middle wing saints.

I'm not sure your tin-foil hat is shiny and obvious enough.

Anyway, the media hates videogames - the news would've pounced on this in an instant.

Also a heap of bollocks.

I mean, really. "EA overcharged people, and there was somebody on life support in one of those houses, and they DIED! An agent got so depressed he killed himself!"

Guys, guys! Nobody buy from EA! If this carries on, the next post will be about an orphanage EA 'accidentally' overcharged and burned down!

True or not the fact is you will only ever hear 1/10 of any companies dirty secrets, they aren't paying their legal and PR departments to wash windows you know.

I can't say whether this is real or not...

...but it's pretty standard fare for third party support call centers.

EA is evil. OK. Moving on.

Seriously this could be fake or it could be real. There's no way of telling if this is a bunch of lies, exaggerations with a kernel of truth or straight truth. It's not even possible to say if the guy really was an EA employee. There's also a lot of former employees who hate the company the worked for because they got fired.

I'm not saying I don't believe this or that I don't want to. I just don't have enough information to judge.

It doesn't matter if it's fake or not, "Don't accept coupons because they're bullshit. They hand those out like pamphlets from a Jehovas Witness" is still fucking funny.

I might be the odd man out but ... I believe him . Why? Because it's EA and one guy . Everyone said the same thing it's just one guy . Because it's one guy no one is likely take him seriously. How often in history , movies , videogames and books have one guy been right but gotten laughed at or dismissed though knowing the truth? Maybe i am naive but i believe him. But my mind has been made up before this, i shall not buy anything EA produces. But i am a Jrpg fan so i don't really care about EA games.

Thats rarely the case though. Yes, it happens a lot of in movies, books, and video games, but thats because it makes for a good hook. "Poor kid knows about the end of the world, no one believes him". It is great for getting sympathy for the kid and moving the story along as well. Regardless, that theory would never hold up in any real argument or court. In both of those cases you would need SEVERAL people to back up your story.

The way this person responds makes me think hes a disgruntled ex-employee who wants to put EA into a worse light.

I believe EA could seriously be this shit, but these allegations are unfounded. Who's to say it isn't Activision propaganda?

Oh please, the only way to make this more obvious would be to write that, in one case, it had been too cold for the people at the head of EA and they burned down an orphanage in the neighborhood to make it warmer and threw some kittens in there to make the fire burn better.

Sure, it's innocent until proven guilty but this is the internet. I've read enough made up stories, which were claimed to be true by their creators, that I could write a whole book series with those and get Michael Bay to make the movie adaptations.

I never believe one word I read on the internet without solid evidence. Even if multiple were to suddenly appear and confirm his story, I still wouldn't believe it. It's fairly easy to make multiple accounts and do this, I've seen it happen very often. Or other people who would just agree, even though they've never worked at EA, just for the lulz or because they hate them.

Now, some people will probably think that I'm just trying to defend EA but I don't have any reason to do that. I've never particularly like them, there was even a time, when I hated them and if you don't believe me, well I couldn't care less.

I can't be arsed to read all that crap (wouldn't be surprised if it was true, wouldn't be surprised if it was bollox, wouldn't be surprised if it's EA Louse posting under a different name), but lemme just add my 2 cents, since I just spent a lovely night with the EA customer support. I'll just copy paste my experience as I described it in our TOR group:

[context] I was asking them to input my Early Access code (the bonus you get with pre-ordering Star Wars: The Old Republic to get you into the servers a few days early) for me and attach it to my account from their end, because I've tried doing so twice in the past and the server spit out an error at me and swallowed my code (marked it as used without attaching it to my account) anyway, forcing me to cancel my pre-order twice (yes, I have tried troubleshooting with every possible form of EA support in the past and the experience was equally excruciating, save for the fact it was fortunately in smaller, slightly more spaced out doses) [/context]

Well, let me put it this way. It took 4-5 hours and several agents, none of which were of any help. Their English was terrible, both comprehension and grammar in their responses (not to be racist, but support centre in India I guess?). It took them several minutes to respond to anything I wrote, often responding by asking me questions they've already asked (and always using very apparently generic, macro-ed responses) or asking, and this is the biggest kicker of the night:

"What platform are you purchasing this game for?"
After I quite literally answered "Are you joking with me?" to that, the reply was "I need to confirm you're purchasing this for your Xbox".

That happened - twice. For emphasis, this is the customer service for the fucking game and they don't even know what platform it's on. They also kept telling me I need Origin for the game after I got it through their thick skulls the game is on PC, to which I've shown them the numerous Stephen Reid quotes disputing that. Two agents didn't even know what an Early Access code is, one of them taking some 10 minutes to respond "Yes" when I asked them (hurray for Google?).

On top of all that shit, they downright disconnected a few times, once after I asked if they were serious with the platform thing, another time when I started asking them to put me through to senior support, quite literally pulling a "We're glad we could help, bye, /disconnect" on me. They also pulled a "Would you like a 20% discount code for Origin for being our valued customer?" to shut me up (yeah I grabbed it, figured at least get something out of the moron).

Creme de la creme? I got the idea to ask them for help at 4AM. I went to sleep then figured "Hey, they could help me with this and it's a 5 minute job, let's get it done so I don't forget when I wake up!". I ended up in bed at 9 AM and am now sitting here with a wasted Saturday afternoon and a massive migraine thanks to it.

Oh and PS - that's not even the whole story. There's a few parts I can't talk about because they've breached my privacy and I'm still waiting on them to resolve that. So yeah - I love EA's games. I hate anything EA does aside from funding those games - publishing (hai TOR not getting a worldwide launch), customer support and for the most part, marketing (99 problems and your marketing team is definitely one)
