So I caved in and bought one problem is I need to get some games for it.

I bought Fire Emblem Awakening with it

Now to help for games
I mostly play RPGs and like niche games
What are some good EShop games?
Is the new Animal Crossing good dunno if its out?

No remakes please I don't need a 3rd copy of Snake Eater
No FPS

Nothing that relies on 3d I'm half blind and can't see 3d

If you need more info feel free to ask but really I like most games.

I'm in the same boat as you. Just recently got a 3DS. So far, the two games I got are Fire Emblem and Luigi's Mansion 2. I can tell you that Luigi's Mansion 2 is excellent, although I have no idea if that's to your tastes or not. Still, if you like unique, silly games, it's worth a look.

Allow me to break out the list:

Any of the Ace Attorney games.

Castlevania: Order of Eclessia, Portrait of Ruin, Dawn of Sorrow

Children of Mana

DBZ: Attack of the Saiyans

Dragon Quest IX

Etrian Oddessy 1-4(Did 4 come out yet? Can't remember)

Final Fantasy Tactics A2

Fire Emblem: Awakening

Ghost Trick - Phantom Detective - One of my favorite games on the system. I consider it a must buy.

Infinite Space

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days and Re:Coded - But only if you're already a fan of the series, as they plop you into the middle of everything, assuming you know certain things already.

Magical Starsign

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor: Overclocked and 2, and Strange Journey

Pokemon Black and White, as well as Black 2 and White 2

Pokemon Heart Gold/Soul Silver

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness/Time, or alternately Explorers of Sky - Sky is sorta a remastered version of the original two. It has extras if you like that sort of thing, but is basically the same game.

Pokemon Conquest

Any and all Professor Layton games

Radiant Historia - If you are a big fan of JRPGs, I consider this game a must have

Rune Factory 1-3 - I personally think 2 is worth a miss, but if you like 1 and 3, it's at least worth a play.

Sands of Destruction

The Dark Spire

Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time and Bowser's Inside Story.

The Final Fantasy remakes. There's 3, 4, and 6.

Avalon Code

The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks

I recommend all of them.

I'm sure I'm missing a couple. Someone else can have the honors of filling in the missing spots.

If you want more info on any of them, just ask.

Virtue's Last Reward is good, but you have to play the awesome 9 hours 9 persons 9 doors (DS) first because it spoils what happens otherwise. Both are great visual novel/puzzle adventure games.

These are all the games I have for mine:

Etrian Odyssey 4
Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask
VVVVVV
Blaster Master: Enemy Below
Cave Story
Shantae: Risky's Revenge

I'd pick up all the Zelda games if I didn't already have them several times over.

All of the above are DS games, not 3DS.

Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance. But only if you have played previous games, as this is a direct sequel to Kingdom Hearts II.

Shin Megami Tensei IV and Shin Megami Tensei Saul Hackers

Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor Overclocked

Code of Princess

And I'll add one to the DS games: The World Ends with You

I'll go ahead and second Soul Hackers and Code of Princess. The former for being a great JRPG and the latter for being a affectionate parody of fantasy RPGs in the guise of a beat-em.

Tales Of The Abyss,it's actually superior to the PS2 original though it's mostly a straight port. Still pretty good even if you own the PS2 version.

On the E-Shop side: Link's Awaking DX.Toki Tori,and Ika-Chan

Fire Emblem just came out, it's a great game and I highly recommend it. I own pretty much all 3DS titles that aren't shovelware. The one's that I find most worth owning for someone of your tastes though... (I don't buy on Nintendo E-Shop)

- LoZ: Ocarina of Time 3DS was a good purchase, if you've played it before it's worth reliving with the new graphics.
- Fire Emblem, see above.
- Perhaps you'd like to check out Rhythm Thief? That's a nice music based game.
- Kingdom Hearts: 3DS. I'm still playing it. Beat it twice but trying to get all the spirits and stuff, nice replayability and runs beautifully. Looks great on the big 3DS screen and plays great with the little 3DS with the CPP.
- Mario Kart 7. Who doesn't enjoy Mario Kart?

RPGs you say? Pick up a copy of Tales of the Abyss! It's a PS2 port of a pretty great game. Note: If you do get it you may notice the main character is a total asshole, this is intentional, the game wants you to dislike him and he will get better. Gotta love character growth.

Dream Drop Distance is an amazing game, pretty much everyone I've talked to rate it either as the best KH game so far or tied with Birth By Sleep in amazing-ness. Also yeah, Shin Megami Tensei 4 is coming on the 3DS and we also have a variety of good SMT games on the DS and 3DS as well such as Soul Hackers and Devil Survivor Overclocked(along with supposedly Persona 5 being on there, but I haven't heard any more on this in a while).

OT: There are a variety of great games to get, both for the DS and the 3DS. If you're looking specifically for 3DS games though, here are a few to look into:

Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy(don't know if you like rhythm games, but it's worth it if only for all the great FF music)
Super Mario 3D Land
Rhythm Thief & The Emperor's Treasure(another rhythm game, but niche kind of like Elite Beat Agents on the DS)
Paper Mario: Sticker Star
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
Etrian Odyssey IV

There are more, but these are what I consider the must-haves for all owners and the RPG and niche games to look for(outside of the games I mentioned before the list anyway). I could go on even further if you want more genres and/or remakes like Ocarina 3D included.

Look I don't own one, but I did consider buying one at launch just to play Julian Gollop's Ghost Recon game. I guess if you don't like turn based tactical games you might give it a miss, but come on, it's Julian Gollop.

My friends told me that. I fear getting it since I don't want to have to wait for me to like the character I'll be seeing on screen all the time. Like, it'd frustrate me or something. Since other asshole characters in games tend to do that if they take too long to have their development start.

It's hard to explain, but I think it really works. I may be overstating his unlikability as well. Also, the rest of the cast is very likable and so is the main character after [spoilers] happens causing him to change.

Cave Story. (eShop version. The Retail one does not have as much content.)
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Gates to Infinity.
Monster hunter 3 Ultimate (Circle pad pro strongly recommended.)
Fire Emblem Awakening.
Mario kart 7.
Pushmo.
Crashmo.
Crimson Shroud.
Liberation Maiden.

Plus there is the entire DS/DSi library.

Get Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Gates To Infinity. We're not geting that until May and I am kinda pissed at that...

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, I currently have 130 hours on that game, only because I've been busy. I would have had more than 200 by now if I weren't.

Tales of The Abyss is a brilliant game. Seriously get that. Disregard everything in this thread as long as you get Tales of the Abyss.

Kingdom Hearts is quite good too.

Then there's the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei IV and Mario & Luigi Dream Team.

Monster hunter 3 Ultimate (Circle pad pro strongly recommended.)
[/quote]

I tried playing without circle pad yesterday... Yeah, that was NOT pretty. I'm not even used to holding my 3DS without the circle pad anymore. It feels so tiny and light.

They aren't all DS games, and so what if they are? I skipped out on the DS entirely, and when I got my purple 3DS, once I got Fire Emblem, Style Savvy: Trendsetters, and the requisite Super Mario Bros, I looked for great DS games to tide me over until the library poops out something I'm interested in after these. Maybe OP didn't have a DS either.

Mario and Luigi Bowser's Inside Story and 999 have been my favorite DS games so far. I'm super excited for Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, because I similarly missed everything involving Wii as well. There's a whole huge library that has some amazing games, and if you are like me and missed it all, it's a great place to go while waiting for new games you like.
There's nothing wrong with that, since 3DS is backward compatible, and it's a great list. I just thought I should mention it so the OP doesn't expect any 3D effects playing those games.
