That same thing happened to me. But eventually I just stopped caring (after the 4th or 5th time) and let the saves get deleted. With all the mods I had, it was hard to remember them all and if I forgot an important one, the save file wouldn't work anyway.Reaper195 said:

also, every time we go on holidays, my brother comes to ukraine a week later, and he ALWAYS forgets, to not format the extra hardrive i installed on the computer. all my savegames all games GONE every septemberi have to reinstall all my games, and start again. luckily, i took the hardrive with me.its completely useles but with 1000+ hours of gameplay on it and 50 games, it was worth it
(yes it took 2 hours to take it out)

**sigh** ... you had to resurface this memory didn't you .... the time i played through the whole fallout 3 ... almost 3 days nonstop, almost every sidequest complete .. making the most perfect ninja ever .... when ... i think "ok i'll get some sleep and continue this when i'm not at risk of dying from sleep deprivision and malnourishment" ... then i switch the console off ... walked to the fridge and just as i got there i remember that i didn't save ......
