A wise man once said:

"never date any girl crazier than you."

This is advice I should really follow, having just been in the shortest relationship of my life. Total duration? Just over an hour.
She liked me, I liked her, I decided to finally man up and ask her out. She didn't even have to think before saying yes. Great success!
Then about half an hour later, back at my place, she started talking about how complicated and confusing life was, and that she didn't 'want to drag me into everything that was going on'. She's a very good friend of mine (or was. Really need to salvage the pieces of the friendship there...), so I mostly know what she's talking about. Naturally, I'm a little annoyed, but I can entirely understand her desire to want to actually find somewhere to live/work out what to do with her life (she graduated from uni last year) before dating anyone. So yeah, annoyed, and I wanted to vent this somewhere other than 4chan (because it's 4chan) or facebook (because it's way too public/my parents would find out).

Anyway, discussion value - What's the shortest relationship you've ever been in?
Any amusing stories about crazy exes?

There was a girl who I only went out with because she gave me sweets, I was a kid... and no she wasnt a 40 year old woman called "Jim". We were the same age, around 10 I think, and she just approached me... tell ya, that was a weird day and I still dont really consider that dating.

I suppose the shortest relationship I've ever been in is... Well, confusing. There were many factors that are confusing as hell when I look back on it, but it was roughly a day and a half.
Unless one night stands count as a relationship, which I wouldn't personally, in which case it goes down to 4-5 hours (Beginning at 3AM when we would leave wherever, ending at 7-8 when I would leave their place) I was a bad person in uni.
As for crazy exes, I have many stories, some amusing, some less so. Sadly, a few here on the escapist have expereinced the craziness of one of my exes of the second variety, an experience I am not willing for them to repeat.

My relationships tend to fall into two categories...the ones that last three to six weeks or the ones that last three to six years. Not much in-between (which is encouraging when I make it past two months with a girl.)

I've never had any particularuly wierd relationships, but I have had wierd (more like evil) exes. One in particular cheated on me, then when started dating the guy a week after I dumped her when I found out. She then insistently kept being all over this new to show that I "was a FOOL" for dumping her...when she cheated on me...with the same guy. I'll never understand the workings of the female mind.

Sucks about this girl though. Hope it works out in a way you want it too

This isn't someone I want to (or even can) avoid thinking about. She's one of my best friends, and I knew the risks of making that awkward when I asked her out... It's just that I was expecting me to be the one who went crazy and made everything weird (bad track record on that one). Something of a shock when it happened the other way...

I realised this when i was making out with a different girl who'd i'd been crazy about for 2 years but who only came onto me after i was in a relationship. Then she went off with some other guy and i didn't speak to either of them for about 8 months.

For the past 8 years, every girl I have been interested it, has either turned out to already be in a relationship, getting married, or already married but idiotically not wearing a ring.

My shortest relationship was probably one week long. (In contrast, my longest relationship was three weeks, unless the two month long online relationship I had with this guy before meeting him in real life and breaking up with him after a week counted.) Otherwise, I've also had a lot of dates that lasted a couple of hours or less before I just went, "Hey, this isn't going to work." But I don't count those as relationships.

Shortest relationship = Two Months. She was very emotionally unstable and a drug addict ,and even though I did all I could, in the end she just wanted another drug addict. It was great while it lasted though, only girlfriend who treated me good, plus we never stopped having sex, which was new and definitely a nice change of pace for me.

If you're under the age of about 20, date anyone and everyone you can. 'Crazy' at that age basically includes everyone you could possibly date anyway, you can't avoid it. Besides, relationships only last a few months maximum when you're a teenager (that's as long as they SHOULD last, anyway), so have as many experiences as you can IMO. If you don't like the relationship, just leave.

It's when you start getting into relationships that potentially involve children and marriages that you have to worry. At that point if you want out you need a shovel, a passport, and a Spanish-English dictionary.
