The cheapest I've seen it at in the UK was as part of a "Two for £4" deal. Fitting, too, given how let down people were by the game on the whole.
You're not looking very hard [http://www.amazon.co.uk/2K-Games-Duke-Nukem-Forever/dp/B007Q3XHWC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1428401616&sr=8-2&keywords=.Duke+nukem+forever] then. I got it around £3 a year or so ago.

Oh it's a PC copy still in the plastic wrap? Damn. Those are actually hard to find in secondhand stores, lol.

Hahaha, that reminds me of when I was shopping in Target for Christmas presents for last year, and found an entire SHELF loaded down with copies of Sonic Unleashed on sale for just $5.

Poor discs that will never see the light of day... such a waste.

I got a laugh that it was literally the newest game there (and yes it was bundled with casino shovelware to really pad out that steep $3 CDN). All of the other games that weren't pc were ps2, original xbox, and even a few gamecube. I almost feel bad seeing it languish there in purgatory among the other damned souls...but not bad enough to spend a whole toonie and loonie on it ( yes that is what canadian money is called) sorry Duke!

OOH! Is that one of those awful shovelware Casino games!? Sold!
Screw the casino games, there's a copy of Jump Start Advance right behind DNF! I've been looking everywhere to get my hands on a copy! A true diamond in the rough.

Well, this is actually really sad...
I really wanted to like this Duke Nukem game, but I couldn't.
However I will say this: Its DLC is FFFAAAAAAAAAAAAARRR better game! And I am not Joking. It is far more interesting and enjoyable than the main game.....which of course this also is very sad for the game....

Agreed. I remember it took me a while to get through the main game but that was because I was sick of sitting through the loading screens. The expansion added some much needed self-deprecating humor. After I played through it a few times I thought that if the loading screens were shorter folks would have treated it better. Than I played Wolfenstein the New Order and saw how long those loading screens were, and everyone loved it. Including me...

I picked up this game last year for £2 in GAME in my on going end of generation quest to find some entertainment out of some of the worst games that are really cheap. Have I been ripped off?

Whenever I think of Duke Nukem, I just prefer to think of this trailer and pretend that the thing that came out never actually existed.

Now THERE'S a game I'd pay good money for.

Yeah, color me entirely unsurprised. I'm sure 2K and Gearbox would love to distance themselves from this turd as much as they can. They'd probably like to reopen E.T.'s garbage dump just so DNF can rot with the rest of Atari's waste. Ten to one that there aren't any flagged copies of it on Torrent trackers, either, and that it eventually classifies as Abandonware.

Oh hey, that game I threw at the wall today in an inexplicable rage. Not through choice, it just happened to be the first inanimate object that my mind let loose upon, it was probably in the way or something. The better of recent emotionally charged decisions, at least.
For those feed off of trivial, errr...trivia, there is 97p shop in the town I currently reside. I can only hope they sell games one day soon.

Would you even be saving money by torrenting it at this point? I mean the energy used by your electronics to download it might actually be more valuable than the game itself.

Yeah same. I think that some one made a mod of Duke nukem Forever that with the EDUKE32. Funny enough it was actually better than the main game :D

You made me crack a smile, and you earn yourself some Internets for that. :D

You're right, though. This is definitely one of those games I'll never consider buying, much less acquiring illegally. I'd be wasting hard drive space, in any case.

I hate ending up with things like that, honestly. My installed games are my personal gaming VIPs, the four or five options I keep returning to, or the odd recent outliers that surprised me with their quality (Cities: Skylines). There's nothing worse than realizing you'll never be able to remove the "Meh" titles from your Steam library, or at least hide them.

I have a couple dozen games in my list that I wouldn't necessarily ask a refund for, but that I'll only install and play in specific circumstances. Alpha Protocol, for instance. I'm one of these weirdoes who just can't see the game's redeeming qualities, but I'm aware that it has cultural value, so...

Actually, that's worth it if you plan on getting the DLC. It actually was worth playing, and had some legitimate humor in it. Still not grade A, but a solid B- at least. DNF itself floats around D+ to C-.

This reminds me of a similar experience I had once at a supermarket where at the games department I saw baskets upon baskets full of bulky "Limited Edition" versions of Alone in the Dark (2008). There's something deeply tragic, yet morbidly, ironically humorous about such scenarios. In fact, I think we should coin a new term specifically for these games: Icaros games, a category reserved purely for the overhyped, massively underwhelming flops like Daikatana, Duke Nukem Forever, E.T. and Alone in the Dark 2008.
