The problem is that while we are quick to yell "TROLL" most trolls probably do not think of themselves that way / are not intentionally trying to get reactions. I have found more and more that people just throw the term out there to refer to people who disagree with them. As said above:

Most trolls just express their opinions and others react...often angrily... and thus they appear to be trolling. Or people dismiss others opinions by saying "obvious troll is obvious". It becomes an easy to use ad hominem attack.

A few days ago I went to a Green Building site for advice on a homework assignment, and some guy immediately freaked on me for trying to get others to do my work.

I stated, quite clearly, that I needed testimonials for said assignment, and only needed, like a sentence or two.

The most insulting part was his wording. It was incredibly condescending and rude.
